My goal today is to clean/cook before the big Pats game later - all the guys will be rowdy at our place today. I also should finish my registry. We haven't picked our pack n play, swing, bouncer, etc. There are way to many choices for this mama!
Morning ladies, I was supposto go hunting with Dh this morning but we decided if it snows it's too hard for me to navigate with my clumsiness. Well woke up to tons today so I am still nice and warm in bed! @sugahcookie01 nice pics!!
After last night's cooking drama (DS managing to almost take an eye out on a table that was almost impossible to get to while I was cooking) I decided to order pizza. Today is my lucky day because my favorite pizza place now delivers to my house and I got some jalepeno ranch to make everything 10x more delicious.
@lizzybean hugs mama! She will get there, I promise! Take a break and try again in a while.
DH has been working long hours the last few weeks and this is the final week of it. DS has been a monster much of the time, largely because he misses DH. When DH is home, DS won't leave his side. He's home today and they are in the living room playing with trains - it's so cute to watch! My SIL is coming over a couple of nights this week to help me out with DS and assist me in maintaining some sanity because I mentioned how awful it's been the past few weeks so hopefully I'll manage to not go crazy before his long hours are over.
Made the decision yesterday to switch from the OB practice that I've been seeing to a midwife at a birth center and I'm so excited about it! Still have to sort out some insurance stuff, but I'm feeling much better and not dreading giving birth quite so much!
We go together like a wink and a smile. June 27, 2009
@ChickenOnSunday, I'm stripping grout as we speak. Taking a quick break. Damn shower. Omg it's my hometown vs adopted home today. Although I'm a little worried this year with the Pats playing like arse half the time. It's DH vs me today. Lol. We shall see who is victorious! Go Patriots!!!
@lizzybean- potty training scares me! I am just going to wait I decided after reading these posts. DS is almost ready I think but I don't have the energy.
DS fell asleep in Sunday School on one of the teachers lap so I think naptime is officially screwed. He never does that- but I'm guessing the time change did him in. I'm so sad because I need a nap! Lol.

Yeah, I don't have the energy, or the patience unfortunately. DH and Ella picked up a Minnie potty at Target so I think I'm just going to put it in the living room and see what happens. If she wants to sit on it, great. If she's not interested, that's fine too. My nerves are shot after this weekend!!!
Went to the Oregon game yesterday and DH got to tailgate his little butt off with my stepdad and take advantage of my DD status. Usually I make him drive the 2 hours home after the game but not this year. GO DUCKS!
We just had a lovely service for DH's grandmother. Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers today and over the last few days. I've been nothing but an AW and having been around to support all of YOU much and I apologize! I'll be back to normal tomorrow Hugs to you all!

Twins? You mean two babies? WOW!
Team PURPLE!!
We are excited to meet William Alexander and Harper Abigail in 2015!
Success! He's napping! Lol. I know he was tired but just wouldn't go down. Finally put him in the car to bring to DH for a bit at work and he fell asleep the minute I was out of the driveway. And he nicely stays sleeping if I carry him in. So happy. Now it's my turn to nap.
@sugahcookie01, you and your husband look so happy! And you're beautiful!
@lizzybean, I'm sorry this weekend has been tough. I can't offer advice, but I've got hugs aplenty.
@kefttsc, I'm happy you had a fun shower and that you were able to lay your husband's grandmother to rest in a lovely way. Hugs to you, too.
@chickenhawke, I have to say that your one job gif has my nom for November siggy winner when the time rolls around.
We finished organizing our new bookshelves today and decorating the space around them. I'll post a pic tomorrow, but I'll say they are great. Our living room is gorgeous right now.
We're supposed to go to the gym today. Hmm, not sure about that one ...
Awaiting our bundle of cute chaos.

Thanks! I really want to see the bookshelves btw. We are thinking of adding something similar in our living room so I'd LOVE some inspiration!
I'll be sure to get it up tomorrow (and I'll post my before so you can see what a mess they were). It took us forever to get off our lazy butts to get it done, but I'm so glad we did it.
In the meantime, they're from the Woodwind collection. We got them at Room & Board, not sure where else they're sold (but R&B sells online).
Awaiting our bundle of cute chaos.

@lizzybean & @miniwheat10 have you tried starting out with no panties? It still sucks if there is an accident, but at least there isn't extra clothes to wash. We did this with Hailey and she picked up on it a lot faster with no pants on than when she was wearing pants. We also had the little training potty that we would keep in the room that she was playing in so she didn't have to go as far. She would even just sit on it to watch a show and was more willing to sit there until she peed.
Who invited Katie to our party? Don't ask if we are for real, are you? That post made all of me ragey.

I pulled out all the bedding in my house, ironed it all, and put it back away today. I just couldn't live another second knowing that there was wrinkled pillowcases in the linen closet. I'll never iron my clothes, but I guess sheets is where I lose it? Weird. I guess this is nesting.
Lazy Sunday over here. MH brought out my pregnancy pillow, regular pillow, and blanket and laid them out by our fireplace so I could watch TV comfortably by the fire. We had freezing rain today!
@sugahcookie01 your pictures are awesome! We are doing the same next weekend and hope we look just as happy!
@lizzybean I know I'm a FTM, but I was out to lunch with my mom yesterday and showed her your post about literally being in the closet. She said she hopes I do that when I need it. She said there were times I was a terror and that I will always love my kid but there will be times I won't like him. I have no advice because of how little I know, but I got your back
awww @missystephens I teared up reading your Mom's comments. That made me feel so good. Some days, it just sucks, and I am SOOOO grateful I have this place to let it all out. Thank you for having my back.
I still want to know why it's okay for Katie K. to complain about lighting crotch and go home early from work because of it, but we're not allowed to sit around on a Sunday afternoon and talk about similar aches and pains.
I guess we're just not that special.
Awaiting our bundle of cute chaos.

As someone who is PG after 4 losses, I am very grateful to be pregnant. But when the ninja kicks me at night so I can't sleep or I can't eat anything without being sick, you bet I'm gonna bitch about it. (I haven't bumped in over a week thanks to work... it's good to be back )
My spam is very selfish and vain, and I know I'm being irrational. Someone gave us a pack n play. It's in great shape. But I really wanted the pretty new brown and green one with more accessories. It's just such a BIG thing that we will use a lot, and I plan to have it out downstairs (my goal is to spend all night upstairs and all day downstairs, without back and forth). I know what is practical and logical, but I don't want to be practical and logical (

God help us. My mil just learned how to text and she texted Dh a few days ago saying please text her as often as he likes and if it's ok with us she may text occasionally but promises not to be a pest. She's so weird. A simple hi guys this is my new number and texting now would have sufficed. So today she texts Dh to ask what we are doing this wknd and he says not much and asks if she's ready for her trip she's taking with sil tmrw. She writes back this like 2 page text on how she's ready but she wished fil was coming and hopefully one day she can take a trip with Dh but she knows that will probably never happen so for now she will just dream about it maybe one day happening. Wth do you say to that? He just never wrote back. She always says weird shit like that. When we told her we might move 4 hours away she says, well I guess the only time I'll get to see you now is I'm heaven. H just looked at her and was like ok then....
@Alygohome That's why talking to my MIL is so hard. She says the weirdest stuff and I never know how to respond. DH told that when she gets weird I should just tell her I love her and that she's great. It seems to work so far because she still likes me and responds more appropriately afterwards. GL with the trying to find a normal conversation tone with her.
Dear TB, I'm sorry for whatever I did. Can I please have my avatar back? Love, Jenn
I'm stalking the online grade book portal for my grade on my final paper. The instructor is entering everything into the grade book now and has been for hours. I don't know what's taking her so long. There are only 20 of us and she's already graded everything.I'm so impatient right now but I'm not going o bed without my final grade.
Thanks Sugah. Glad I'm not the only one lured by pretty new things! I know it's silly. But I'm human. And hormonal.
@Alygohome ... Yikes! I would have no response either. My MIL is very nice but very attached to my husband too. But bringing death into it is just morbid. Go guilt trips!!

Aaaaahhh, I thought I had avoided the weird pregnancy symptoms, but I just figured out that my boob is slightly leaking. I noticed some weird dry spots on my shirt (being lazy braless in PJs) but thought something had got on me while I was cooking. Then I noticed more fresh wet spots in the same area. I guess I should start wearing a sports bra at home and putting toilet paper in the cups.
I love my boyfriend. I love my boyfriend. I love my boyfriend.
But.
We were watching the walking dead & he asked me who I thought Daryll was going to bring back. I responded that I don't feel like it could be both of them (Beth and carol) because they have made such an effort to write the women more positively & I felt that it would do a disservice to the work they are trying to do with that of Daryll was just all like, "hey, look who I saved". I feel that in particular, they are trying to strengthen their characters into women who are more than capable of taking care of themselves. ANYWAY, he interrupts me by saying, "ugh, you're such a feminist" AND IT JUST MADE MY BLOOD BOIL. Feminist is not a dirty word, and I don't think it's too much to ask, or point out, that it's nice to have women who can take care of themselves? Oh, well. He just doesn't "get it" sometimes. Frustrating!

Oh my god. That is something else! My mom will sometimes say stuff like that (maybe not, like, referencing impending DEATH though) and then say "haha, is my guilt trip working?" like we're all in on this big joke, but I'm not 100% sure if she's joking or not? It's very weird.
You do have to wonder, is it she just taking exaggerating too far, or does she really think these things?
She also sends me an average of 20 texts a day, so you and your DH have my sympathies. Today, I asked her to text my husband directly rather than funnel her questions about her iPhone through me, and she proceeded to have a long text convo with him... after which she texted me with "I just finished texting with him." Great... thanks for the update?

Ugh!!! I'd be chanting that to myself too if it were me. I don't understand why some men feel like it's a stigma to admire and encourage women to fend for themselves, especially in circumstances like that. The F word really gets some of them riled up even though the modern definition isn't about bra-burning and the like. /rolls eyes in sympathy

can you use that one as your travel pack and play? That way you don't have to tear down your downstairs one if you go anywhere. And if it has fewer accessories it would be easier to pack for travel right?
@ckimberley14 It took a LONG time for me to gradually start asking my mom if perhaps she could google things instead of texting me "who is this Miley Cyrus?" or "I didn't know that Spain had a king. What other countries have kings and queens still?" Like... this is exactly why google was invented, mom.

What are you using to seal the grout?
Ack, I misspoke. I was stripping off caulk that was all nasty and falling off anyways. I'm just using the regular caulk stuff tomorrow after it dries a bit. I have rubber gloves and what not so should be safe.
On the plus side, I just finished my giving tree in the nursery.

Haha luckily my mom just emails. She doesn't even have a smart phone. MIL asks me things that DH knows personally, like when he has military drill, stuff like that. Not sure why she doesn't just ask him directly for that kind of info!
@ckimberley14 I honestly wonder what types of things our daughters are going to say when they complain about us 30 years from now. It's so easy to say we won't be those moms or MILs, but when you see how universal some of these stories are... it's hard to keep denying it!
