Hi, I am a mom and a BA student at the
University of Amsterdam doing an anonymous, non-commercial linguistic study on
maternal language. May I share my academic link with your community? The guidelines
say no surveys with monetary gain but this is purely academic research questionnaire
with no monetary gain is that ok? Thanks 😊

Re: How did you decide when to TTC?
We waited until I graduated & started my career before getting married, although DH was established in his career throughout our relationship (as I was still in college). We already had a house that meets our requirements for housing a future family. Now we're saving up, the wedding & honeymoon cleared out a bit more of our savings than expected
In a perfect world where you have some say in your due date, winter would be our last choice (winter is a rough time where we live, with lots of snow that impairs driving conditions, temps that can drop well below zero, as well as a very difficult flu season, people normally feel confined to their homes. With a brand new baby as a first time mom on maternity leave, it just seems like it'd add difficulty to that adjustment). So, right now we plan to start trying for March or April due dates and work our way back around the year. We should reach our savings goal/debt payment goals with that TTC timeline. Of course, if we end up having trouble conceiving then we'll just be happy with any due date we can get. I understand that it can take a year for the average couple and several if we encounter problems, but eh, the way we see it if you have a time of the year you'd rather avoid why not give that your best shot?!
Zoe Nicole: 8/21/14
Due again: 1/17/18
We also have an Aussie Shepherd mix who's 1.5 yr old. She's very smart but still quite hyper. For us, deciding when to have a child is mostly about financial security. However, my husband also wants to have a child before he is 30- so in a way, age plays into our situation as well.

I'm going of BCP before our honeymoon and if it doesn't happen within 6 months of "let's se what happens", then I am going to start charting and temping.
DH is a little older and can't wait for babies, but since our honeymoon is all inclusive I don't want to take a chance and go off of BCP now.

We planned for December 2014 but then he tried to move it back a few months to accommodate our new house we are building - but then I protested, "No one is EVER ready"... and I guess that sunk in pretty hard because the next day, he began TTC without telling me hahahaha.
Do your thing, J, All good!
24/7 we pull out.. then, suddenly, he decided to party in the hallway.
Thank God your not with my rockstar boyfriend then.
I'm over the baby moon...
Okay recap.
You said, I would be livid if my DH did that and we hadn't talked about it.
then I said,
Thank God your not with my rockstar boyfriend then.
I'm over the baby moon...
Usually, "OVER THE MOON" means EXCITED, EAGER, HAPPY.
I added baby in there for emphasis that that BABY + MOON = me, shit excited, PUMPED. yay GONNA MAKE A BABY. etc.
Cool?

See? Don't worry, I got's this.
Our second daughter was a complete surprise so there was no planning there...
Number three will hopefully be conceived in May-July of next year! I don't think I could have any more surprises before then. My plate is FULL right now!
We planned TTC, but the plan hasn't worked out the way I had hoped.
We got married in June 2010 and planned on waiting 1 year to TTC, to give us time to work on some projects around the house we had just bought. When June 2011 rolled around I didn't feel ready so we waited a few more months and started TTC in August 2011. And we are still TTC. It's been 3.5 years, 4 IUIs, 3 Fresh IVFs (cancelled transfer, c/p, and BFN, 1 failed FET with donor embryos, and our 2 blastocysts from our fourth IVF (first including immune treatments with a RI) had to be frozen due to lining issues. We will be doing a FET with our 2 frozen blasts in January. If it doesn't work we will either move on to another donor embryo cycle or look into a donor egg cycle.
TTC #1 since August 2011
