So today I went to take my ring in because one of the side stones had fallen out. It also needed to be redipped and just cleaned really. Missing stone is the big deal through. So the chick takes my ring. Looks everything up and says do you have this particular paperwork. I didn't because we were just in the area. So she says well we can't get your diamond replaced without it because we need to see it's been checked in the last six months.
So the kicker is that when we bought the ring we were told it was blue topaz as the center stone with white sapphires surrounding it. I told them we didn't have that paperwork for the diamond because it isn't a diamond. So turns out they're all diamonds (besides the center topaz) and I was supposed to bring it in every six months. I specifically asked if I needed to do that when we bought it and we were told no.
They're trying to accommodate and get it replaced anyway since we were given wrong information. Fingers crossed it doesn't cost me anything. If they won't do it we can get the diamond replaced at cost but hrmph.
On the other hand I have a much nicer ring than I thought and we put a wedding band on layaway. I don't like financing anything if I can get away with it. So Merry Christmas to me! This one we bought knowing they were diamonds. Lol.

Re: Well that's interesting
I've lost a couple of the side stones in my ring and Kay has always been great about replacing them under the plan.
I have an individual insurance policy on my ring through State Farm. It sucks that I don't have an actual place to take it for regular checks. If I lose it or a stone falls out they'll replace it but what a pain in the butt.
