I want to point out that being available for your husband does not mean you always have to do the deed. Sometimes being available can mean many different things, like cuddling, holding hands, talking together in bed, etc. These are all components of feeling fulfilled, and different people need different ways to reach that.
Being unavailable is not being open to any of your spouse's feelings or needs. I view it as acknowledgement from both sides is what works.
Being available =/= always having sex whenever the other person wants it.

Old family money. Vast commercial real estate holdings, car lots etc. The family had money before TLC showed up.
Also as a state politician their insurance is paid for by the state which is a big help.

Oh they didnt get the show until around 16kids or so... They dont believe in debt. They dont buy anything new, everything is always used. They own commercial properities and other real estate. They do a lot themselves, like do/cut their own hair. They make a lot of their own clothes, lots of hand me downs. They very rarely splurge. I think the shows income has done things like, paid for them to travel internationally as a family and things like that. I mean the one that just got married flew all the way to Napal to "meet" a guy. Plus the older sons work the family businesses so Im sure there are cost savings there. They dont have daycare costs... so thats HUGE plus. As far as raising them, they make it work.

@foxslaw we were just talking about this at work! That is crazy and is absolutely fascinating to me. I couldn't imagine sharing my significant other in that way or anyway for that matter.
In other regards I do love the Duggars and it may not be the way I choose to raise my family I will not condemn someone else for raising their family in that way. They are not teaching them to harm others and they are becoming productive members of society so I'll leave them be.
@foxslaw I love the Browns simply because they are so different. I could never share my husband, and I find it fascinating to watch the dynamic between that family.
It could also be because I have a psych degree and have been having psychology class withdraws since I graduated I miss it!!
Don't get me wrong, I love the show, and I think they are great people. I was just saying she was crazy that with 19 kids, I don't know how she can have that attitude. Good for her.
I don't see too much wrong with what she said. I look at it this way...when I am in need of my husband's physical love, I expect him to be there for me. I would want to be the same way for him.
