  • I bought our Halloween candy this afternoon. DH hid it on me when he got home from work. He knows me too well.

Also, I just realized I forgot to buy an extra bag to stash away. Damnit!!

I'll have to sneak back to Sams Club next week for some on clearance...

  • @ckimberley14‌ that sounds wonderful!

I am eating a pear and packing up the living room. Sorting through what to put in storage vs. What to bring back home is so daunting. Also, when emery is kicking I can see my belly bounce. That's gonna freak DH out when he's home :p

Glad you're feeling much better than this morning! Speaking of pears, have you ever had Asian pears? They're an apple pear hybrid and are awesome!!! DDs prefer them over pears or apples. It seems silly to me that I only just discovered them a few months ago, but I'm sure glad I did!
Yes I have! I love all fruit but I have a soft spot for apples and pears :) that's funny your DDs like asian pears better. I probably wouldn't even notice there was a difference lol

  • I feel kinda bad because I haven't been able to keep up with this thread today...

BUT.... I have something I need opinions on....

My sister-in-law is having her baby shower in a few weeks and we've been talking about wanting to go to this baby expo but haven't really done anything about it. Well, I found VIP tickets for it and REALLY want to buy them. Thoughts on this as a gift please?!?

  • @munchkin8590‌ tough one. I would get the tickets for my SiL or friend just because... It wouldn't be as a baby shower gift though.

  • @jaztastic yeah, that was my original thought, too. But she's not really registered for much so Idk what to get her :/

  • @rosieo52‌ i took DS trick or treating last year at 4 months. we didnt actually accept any candy from people; we just thought it'd be fun to go around with him and say hello to our neighbors.

What!?!? No candy!?!? ALWAYS take the candy.

@kefttsc‌ it can be a very special thing, even healing, to celebrate a birth/new life after mourning a death:) you could commemorate your husbands grandmother at the shower by adding her favourite treat or decorate with something she was known for...something like that:) life is so precious, it should always be celebrated

ETA sorry I'm late to the party!

Just read that ridic hospital bill thread and.... some of you have insurance that covers 100% pre-natal and delivery charges?!?! Fuck that shit man! My max out of pocket for the year is $2500!!

Fuck why am I not having this kid in Canada?! Grrrrrrr....

Yeah but the crappy thing about Canada is you don't get to choose a doctor. At my office there is a lottery of everyone who doesn't have family doctors and you might get chosen when a new doctor starts depending if your name is drawn. Otherwise you have to go to a mat clinic (which I do) and see a different doctor every time (only 5 diff doctors and I like them all) or go to walk in. Shitty.

I am guessing our doctors don't get paid as much and that's why we have such a shortage!

I am not canadian and I am one of the ones who is covered 100%, my hospital has an amazing birthing center too with ALL private labor and recovery suites.
