Pregnant at Destination Wedding

My fiancé and I were in the middle of destination wedding planning when we found out I am pregnant with my first child. I will be 25 weeks on the vacation, which we cannot cancel at this point due to deposits. Anyone else been pregnant at their wedding? Did anyone do a local wedding sooner instead? Suggestions for the dress? I'm tall and thin, and have a fitted, strapless dress that still needs to be altered. Will it fit?! Thanks!

At 25 weeks that's the best time to do it! Second tri is the best time to travel as long as you don't have any health issues! Maybe when you go to get the dress altered they can fit it for a bump? I did that with a bridesmaid dress I was fitted at 8 weeks and I was 18 weeks pregnant with twins for the wedding and they put a little pillow on my tummy to alter it around that. It worked great! Congrats! I think pregnant brides are incredibly beautiful. Hope you can figure the dress situation out. And then enjoy the experience!

We pushed our vow renewal out a year. Dh and I got married June 18th but didnt tell our families we where planning a big destination wedding June 20,2015. Sense I am now preggo and the baby is do june 8th just pushed it back a year. I am glade we had not put down deposits yet so we where cool. I say go for it you will be beautiful

second trimester is a great time to travel. You will likely be feeling a lot better. I am tall and I really wasn't showing at 25 weeks, but I am a size 14. If you are worried about the bump, could you move it up a bit, but still in the second trimester? Maybe week 16-18?

Thanks so much for your responses! You have made me feel better about following through with my wedding while pregnant. It's just been hard to accept that I'll be combining 2 of the biggest milestones in my life. We tried to move the date, but couldn't due to all of the deposits. The dress...(sigh), that's the hardest part for me. As I sit here nauseous, bloated and moody, I can't imagine feeling pretty in 3 more months! But, I'll take your word for it, and hope that things improve some!

@amber0389‌ I guess you may ba right but we still wont tell them yet. We where just gonna surprise them. This is both our 2nd marriage and sometimes everyone is not hsppy for you.

I just wanna second what others have said. You will probably look and feel fantastic at 25 weeks. Rock the baby glow.

Yes I was 18 weeks pregnant at our destination wedding! We were legal married when I got pregnant and everyone had known for weeks that I was pregnant so it really wasn't a big deal and my A-line dress hid it pretty well so I really don't look pregnant in any of our pictures.

@amber0389‌ thanks but I don't think they will be to mad. But now we are gonna have to tell them because we can't do the wedding next year because I will just had the baby so I think we're gonna do a holiday announcement with both the marriage and the baby.
