WWS12D? Toddler belly ache?

Since sometime this afternoon, Sophia has been insisting that her belly hurts.  She grabs her belly and doubles over and says it hurts, but she has no symptoms of being sick and she has eaten okay.  She says she wants to see the doctor, but that may be because I just took Julia in for an appointment earlier this week, and I think Sophia likes the waiting room toys.  She also asks for medicine and ice :-/ Her abdomen looks normal to me, but she's insistent enough that I think something is actually bothering her.

Any questions you ask get a "yes" from her.  Did you run into something? Did you bang it?  Do you have to go potty? Did you eat something that made it feel bad?  She says yes to anything and then makes up a story to go along, like "Yes, I ran into the wall.  Yes, I ate something- soup!" 

Anyway, my gut says to wait and see if she comes down with something, or if she lets it drop.  Is that what you'd do?  Is there anything I should rule out?  When I asked her which side it hurt on, she said left, if that helps.

    Has she pooped? Just to rule it out, I would try to give something that would prompt a BM like blueberries or pears. It won't hurt anything and it may help. Good luck.

    She actually had a softer poop today, so maybe I'll start a BRAT diet, in case diarrhea is causing pain. She only had the one though.

    If it were me and I thought something really was bothering her, I would bring her in. Especially if it's been a few hours of her saying it. I'm a bit of a worrier though.

    Any fever or other symptoms? Is it interfering with her playing? Take a few minutes to play with her favorite toy, if she interrupts the play time to say that it hurts, I would probably get her looked at.

    Yea that's a tough one.  I am sure it is nothing serious but I worry a lot and DH almost died when he was 2 from appendicitis so I might get it looked at if she continues to complain.  Of course DH had many other symptoms too.

    I would probably try like one of the previous posts say and give her something to get her bowels moving. It could be a gas bubble or something stuck. I would then watch for other symptoms. If any other symptoms present then I would take her in or at least call the doctor's office to see what they suggest.

    James learned the power of being "sick" pretty early so I have to watch him when he says he doesn't feel good. If she doesn't have pain when you press on her stomach and no other symptoms, I wouldn't worry about it. If she is after attention, play doctor with her.

    How is she doing today?

    Yeah, she mentioned it once this morning, but has been playing happily ever since with zero symptoms of being sick.  I'm thinking it was either a gas bubble that resolved itself, or she was just trying to earn a doctor's visit and some attention.  Or at the very least ice and a bandaid.  Toddlers are weird, but I guess that's better than being afraid of the doctor?
