Pottery barn kids cribs and dressers?

Hi ladies- so I was all set to buy a Munire collection from buy buy baby (got great reviews for quality in baby bargains), but when I went this weekend they said they aren't taking orders on Munire right now bc something is going on w the company (she wouldn't say what- nothing to do w safety though so I presume they may be closing)...therefore I am about to succumb to my obsession w pottery barn and get a crib and dresser from them. However I haven't found much in the way of reviews so I'm hoping any STM's can help. I know common reaction is that it's pricey and not worth it, but we would use this for baby #2 as well. Let me know if you've had any experience with them! Thanks in advance!!!

  • I have the PBK Kendall crib and have had no issues. Our daughter (19 months) is using it now and I also purchased another one for our 2nd. It is $$$ but we've really liked it!

  • Good to know! Thanks!!
  • I have the PBK Kendall with the conversion kit. It was great for DS, and we are using it again for LO!

  • Haha @bhjones1980‌ ! My parents are gifting us the sparrow glider and I'm obsessed with it! ;)
  • I read that munire is actually going out of business.  There's been several issues with them not completing orders and people not getting their furniture.  Good thing they wouldn't let you order.  I went and looked at PBK and thought that the stuff was just OK.  We actually went to a children's furniture store and ordered our furniture from a european company called Romina.  They are made to order and the quality is unbelievable.  Was a bit more than PBK (not that much though) but well worth the money since the crib is a 4-1 and they are considered an "heirloom" company meaning the furniture is built to actually be passed down among generations we will have the pieces for years to come.  Good luck!

  • We bought the Larkin crib (plus toddler and full rails) and extra wide dresser with topper. It has been somewhat of a headache because the items have been delivered damaged. We are on our third round with the rails and gave up on a getting dresser in perfect condition.
  • I reeaally want the wingback rocker than converts to a regular chair later. But it's freaking expensive - $800! I also want the Emerson crib in white. Those are the only two items on my PBK registry, I think MIL will get us the crib and I'm hoping maybe some aunts and other family members will contribute toward a gift card we can use toward the rocker.
  • Munire may be made by the same company as Baby Cache sold a BRU. They just filed bankruptcy.

I went with the Jenny Lind crib and the Ikea Hemnes dresser so I could splurge on the PB slipcovered glider. I ordered it a month ago and I can't wait for it to get here!

  • @lromeo1‌ - that's the two items we want! Now I'm nervous! I don't know that I'm going to buy the guardrail converter because we will probably use for our next baby instead, but what was damaged? Was it set up in the home for you or was it just shipped?
  • My PBK Kendall Crib and Dresser/Changer arrived a few days ago (Thanks Mom and Dad!) its on sale right now so it was a little over 1000 for both, which is still spendy but not by PBK standards. We got the set in gray. Super sturdy looking and looks great in the nursery. So far so good. BTW others who have this crib, do the hard plastic covers on the side rails come off or are those supposed to stay on?
  • So the Larkin collection is only available with the "white glove" delivery vs. UPS option like the Kendall and some others. The problems were mostly with the finish being a little uneven and a dented side piece on the crib. They did bring replacements and gave me like $500 off because I was so annoyed. The delivery guys said that the finish is often off with PB and Restoration Hardware because it is real handmade wood furniture, not the machine made stuff in most baby stores. It does look great in our baby room and is really sturdy. You may not gave trouble if you get it in white. Here are some pictures. We haven't painted yet...
  • Disclaimer that I got the employee 40% off discount on my PBK purchase back in 2012.

We bought the Kendall crib, long dresser, night stand and glider for the nursery. We also got the toddler bed conversion kit but have yet to use it.

I think it has all held up really well but my child doesn't spend a ton of time playing in her room. She has puked numerous times while being held in the glider. I blotted the stains with water, doused them in baking soda, vacuumed up the mess (after a few hours) and the glider is good as new. I've yet to put the slipcover in the wash.
Thanks so much for the info- great to know about the glider!

Ah okay! Makes sense to me then. It looks great in the room! We are doing white so hopefully we won't have as many issues. Thanks so much for sharing the pics and your advice!!

Those are the bite guards! Leave them on.

    Thanks!!!
