I'm finding it increasingly harder to keep up with the randoms thread and I'm actually spending more time outside of it reading other threads. I think we've finally hit a stage where *most* of the threads are made by people I recognize.
But that makes me feel like I'm missing out on a lot since we don't have weekly/daily appointment threads and everyone just updates in here.
We should change that.
ETA: I probably won't be back to see if anyone agrees with me, because this thread is so damn hard to keep up with
My 20 week a/s is today! Since an outside OB diagnosed me with marginal placenta previa over the weekend, I'm certain my OB will want to check that out- so I should get to see LO quite a bit
Guise, when does my nanny come so I can sleep for a million hours and eat bon bons all day? Oh wait. I don't have one of those? I have to chase after my deranged two year old all day, instead? Dagger.
@Darbie914 Yay to 'healthy' breakfast. I need Halloween to be over so I stop sneaking the chunky kit Kat bars out of the bag. Breakfast was so healthy, granola with berries and milk. Then ... the kit kats called. And I ate three or four. At least a cupcake is special! Please tell me it was pumpkin?
@racegurl87 Glad all went well with your pups surgery. The cone of shame is pretty hilarious but they always look so sad. Post a pic if you get the chance? (I love pet pics!). No advice, sorry, but good luck!
@chaysefaith Well, Ms Moderator, that seems like a great idea! Why not instigate it? it might even be a good sticky, but I know we worked to reduce those recently.
@JM0848 Ugh, that sucks! We got here and the cat and dog do NOT like their new foods (at all). I've gone through about 3 brands of cat food and two brands of dog food. They both aren't eating very much since they don't seem to like it. I keep telling them not to be spoiled! So awesome that you get amazon delivery there.
@flmama622 I'm having the lack of sleep issue, too. H snoring. Dog clacking on the tile, or scratching her jungle collar. Cat loving to use me as a pillow (he's 16lbs, so I kind of notice). 2-3 pee breaks. And of course the aweful uncomfortableness of the new beds we just got when I moved here. Hip pain was bad enough when I had my awesome bed. Now it's miserable no matter which way I face. One night of solid sleep would be heaven!
So, my dog seems to be getting lonely/depressed. I am highly considering getting another dog from a shelter here, but was curious if anyone has had that experience when so close to having a new baby? I'm not sure on the timing, and what would be best. I don't want my dog to get even more sad when we have less time, so seems to be a better idea to look into dog adoption prior to baby. Thoughts?
Had a horrible night waiting for the emergency doctor to return my call about brown discharge. I have an appointment with the doctor around 3 because they are worried about pre-term labor or an infection worsening.
The good part is the baby is still letting me know she's there.. FX everything comes out OK at the appointment. Staying positive!
Hope everyone's appointments go well, and that you all have a great day!
I'm just snuggling with my little kitten. I'm starving but too comfy to get up which is my big dilemma of the day. I can't wait for Halloween candy!! Aaand I think I May have figured out how to add pictures from my mobile! Well see if it works!
Nope. Gosh darn it I just got excited for nothing. If anyone knows how to add a pic from mobile I'll love you forever...
Hi guys. Sorry for the not so great starts to the day. Add me to the list. No sleep and coughed all night. Needless to say I called in sick from work. I feel terrible (in a sick way and for calling in and leaving them shorthanded). But honestly working yesterday just made my cough worse! Home snuggling with my dogs and trying to get better. Movies and Netflix today! GL to all the appts today.
@DragonflyDreaming Omg yes to the goddamn Halloween candy. I've been packing healthy lunches at work and 20 minutes later I destroy 8 fun-size Snickers. Wtf.
So I thought I signed up for short-term disability at work buuuuuuuuuuut apparently I didn't so I'll be getting half the maternity leave I expected. I really thought I signed up for it when I was hired, but I screwed the pooch and now my pregnancy is a pre-existing condition & wouldn't apply if I signed up in open enrollment. Womp womp. I'll just remind myself I'm lucky I have some PTO.
@darbie914 when I found out last time I was having a boy, I had the same visions of cute little hats like that. Well my son will NOT wear any hat. He rips everything off and did so starting at a SUPER young age. I am hoping that someday he will allow me to put a hat on him. Just a warning in case your LO is feisty like mine and rebels against hat wearing
@DragonflyDreaming I agree with PPs, definitely get another dog now rather than later. There is going to be adjustment time for everyone so the sooner you get started the better! You want the new dog comfortable and in a routine with your existing dog beforehand, otherwise you're risking dealing with all kinds of craziness when you're most likely going to be extremely tired. I haven't had experience with 2 dogs and a new baby but I have extensively babysat a 1yo in my house with 2 dogs and 2 (insane) cats. It was definitely manageable since the dogs seem to understand not to bother babies. I've spent time training them this way though and I can't imagine trying to find time to train a new dog on top of caring for a newborn.
Add me to the list of appointments today. Just a regular check-up though. At least I'll get to hear that glorious heartbeat again!
I, too, want to buy ALL THE BABY THINGS. I agree @katydid2014 - trying to predict what size for what season is so hard! Especially when you don't know how big they will be or how fast they will grow! I have only bought 2 footed onesies so far and we got them in newborn size.
I got 2 boxes of baby clothes from a co-worker (awesome sauce) and the biggest pile is in the 6-12 month size category, which means I won't have to buy much of anything in that age range!
I projectile vomited on my front porch this morning.
Every morning I always drink a huge cup of coffee (half coffee, half milk) and I drink it as fast as I can because I hate the flavor of coffee. Well, I think my uterus is pushing my organs around so my stomach capacity probably isn't what it used to be but it hit me especially hard this morning.
So I stepped on the stoop and boom, I turn into a coffee spewing volcano. And lucky me, I have an audience! This stupid woman in her SUV slowed down to watch the show. THANKS. I waved her on and refused to puke again until she was out of site. I barfed 4 or 5 more times getting every last drop of coffee out of my stomach and then got in my car and went to work.

@wishiwaspreggo my love tit was for it getting better from here! I'm not some crazy person getting my kicks from a poor, vomiting pregnant woman. Which is more than I can say for some people (jerk SUV lady)!
T minus 1 days until my a/s. I so damn excited! Anyway, last night we told the very last person we had to tell. I'm gonna AW a little here. First of all telling people has been VERY nerve racking for us. This baby was a total surprise (BC fail) and were both fairly young (22 and 23) and while my SO and i have been friends for years we have actually only been together since February. We both had a pretty rough 2013 and are just now getting our lives in order. We were prob not quite "ready" for this baby and didn't quite know how our families would react. But from the beginning we have embraced this pregnancy and left it in God's hands and believe that everything happens for a reason and we, for whatever reason, were meant to have this little bundle of joy to make my already long story short, our families have been AMAZING and are as excited as we are. Last night we told my 2nd mom which for me i knew was gonna be the MOST nerve racking and it turned out just so freaking well! Her and her girlfriend just absolutely LOST IT (first ones to cry) and can't freaking wait!
This pregnancy has been filed with so many rough times and emotions for me and being a part of The Bump has helped me out more than you know. I just wanted to say thank you to all you snarky, haggard, wonderful and supportive people that i don't even know Enjoy your day everyone!
March 15' January Siggy Callenge: Animals Being Jerks
Okay here is a random, I just ordered this set of Christmas PJs for my son:
They came up when I searched for baby boy PJs, then after I placed my order I noticed it said Pajamas-Baby Girl on the order. Sooooo, are these neutral or did I just get girl pjs for my boy?
P.S. For those itching to buy baby clothes- Carters has nice doorbuster shirts and PJs on sale and free shipping today only. I am sorry/You are welcome.
ETA I just changed my wording so I do not inadvertently start a sex/gender slamming thread
Yesterday DD would not take a nap, she just fussed in her crib. I hope today she's a little more willing, I have so much stuff to get done for my classes and I don't want to be up until midnight doing it.
I think all those people who say you get energy in the second trimester were FTMs. I have pretty much no energy most of the time and a part of me is freaking out a little inside because I'm afraid that I'll become a zombie when this LO comes.
I've been feeling the baby move a lot yesterday and today, which is so exciting and such a treat :-)
My random today is that my 3 year old DD really hurt my feelings, which probably sounds stupid, but I've just been feeling sad about it all day. She is obsessed with milk, like literally would only drink milk and never eat food if I would let her. I gave her a couple options for Halloween costumes, including Elsa, and she chose milk. So hilarious, right? I made her a costume, and I think it came out great. She wore it to a Halloween story time this weekend, and was SUPER psyched and proud of her costume apparently. I was away though and didn't get to see it. Well, this morning she told me she doesn't like her milky costume anymore and she wants me to make her a "bird with golden eyes." I told DH, and he said that she's been talking about that for a few days now. I can see that it's going to be a big fit on Friday, when she can't be a bird with golden eyes. I guess I'm being a baby, but I'm just sad that I missed the part where she was happy and that she doesn't like her costume after I put in the effort. Three year olds can be jerks sometimes. :-(
@wishiwaspreggo - Sorry about the projectile vomit. It happens to the best of us. Maybe you could you try to get your caffeine from another source that you actually like? Like hot chocolate or soda?
C got me addicted to her wicked version of coffee. She brews it so strong you can see the oil floating on top. I drink it for the antioxidants, and it seems to be the only thing that jolts me to life in the morning. Most of the time it's okay, but I think I should just start drinking it slowly now
@nomnommama my damn cleaning lady never shows up either.... what gives??
can't wait for Halloween. I'm so excited to take my son trick or treating even though it will probably be like 5 houses, and he wont care lol. we're practicing "Trick or Treat!" but so far, it just sounds like "TiTeat!" but that works.
I've vowed not to open our candy until Friday. but then it's on! I hope we get a lot of kids, or else I'll be forced to eat all of it myself...
apparently I need to tell everyone that i share my pregnancy news with, that it's not facebook official. you'd think that if the mother herself hasn't posted about it on fb, you shouldn't either right??? nope. after visiting a friend yesterday and sharing the news... I came home and got a notification that I was tagged in her congratulatory status. ugh... I sent her a message, and she changed it. it was fine.. but its just so strange to me. I would never post about someones big news if they have never mentioned it on fb themselves.
my favorite thing my boy says now is "apple cider."
"hay ride" is pretty cute too, but nothing beats "apple cider."
ooh, just remembered I have bite sized kit-kats in my purse!!!, fair game since its not a part of the halloween candy stash!
@JennyP0222 I think they are neutral and very cute!
Thanks - for some reason I got nervous that he would see photos of himself in those PJs when he is older and ask why I dressed him in little girl PJs? Irrational I know.

How was Asheville?
Asheville was fun but a very short trip-I ended up with a uti and I wasn't feeling great on Sunday so we left earlier than planned.
We spent most of Saturday at the Biltmore and went for a drive on the blue ridge parkway. I'm anxious to see more of Asheville itself.
@Haps92907 I'm sorry, I think the costume is great and she looks adorable. I hope she changes her mind by Friday.
My random is that last night I was online shopping and came across some things for baby. DH says well you have to buy something for DD too. I was hoping he would say that because I wanted to get her something, it was on sale and will be part of her Christmas gift. I just let him think it was his idea.

My husband and I are going to Biltmore in 3 weeks! We are staying on the property and I'm so freaking excited. We last went in 2010 maybe. I want to do some of the behind-the-scenes tours and we are doing the Candlelight Tour of the house. I also want to spend a day driving the Blue Ridge if the weather is nice. We didn't do that the last time we went up.
We drove the Blue Ridge while in Asheville a couple weeks ago and it was awesome. Except there was a minor car accident like 2 minutes ahead of us that trapped us for about 2 hours in one spot. That part was less awesome!
Once again, I have tried over and over to change my ticker. I've tried bump codes, lilypie codes, nothing works. the old one still shows up. so I deleted the code altogether, but it's still showing up for me when I post on the computer.
is it still showing up for you guys when I post? does anyone know what the problem is?
My random for today is that my dog food somehow got delivered to someone in Virginia instead of to my APO address. They're going to send me a replacement, but this crap takes at least a week to get here, if not more. I'll be going to the post pet food store to get some there, but it's not her usual stuff and expensive.
So that's a fun unplanned expense-Thanks Amazon!
I read this as your DOG got sent elsewhere ...I was SO pissed, then I saw you were getting a replacement and I was like...um....and reread your post. Makes much more sense now.
@megaugust10 ours is at 830! Yay we have to make it early so my SO and i can both go before we have to go to work. Are you finding out the sex or do u already know? We get to find out the sex tomorrow!
March 15' January Siggy Callenge: Animals Being Jerks
I'm getting to the point where I have to rock myself off of the couch. Didn't think that would happen for several more weeks. Oof.
I do a lot of bending/stooping at work. If I happen to get into a squat position, I have to make a ridiculous exertion noise to stand up out of it and it feels like slow motion. I didn't expect that yet!
I'm getting to the point where I have to rock myself off of the couch. Didn't think that would happen for several more weeks. Oof.
Love-tit because I know exactly how you feel. I have to either grab my legs and pull myself up out of bed, or roll off the side to get up in the mornings. And forget about getting up off the floor.
@Haps92907 That is an adorable costume, and she is even more adorable!
@dragonflydreaming I want a second dog too, but we decided we can't take the time off that would be necessary to make sure they got along before the baby came. Is it possible your dog seems sad because of your pregnancy? My dog is happy in general, but sometimes when it is juts the 2 of us he just looks at me and whines. He doesn't have to go out, doesn't want to be pet, I think he is just weirded out by my pregnancy
@wishiwaspreggo if I drink coffee too quick I get heartburn that makes me have to burp BAD which sometimes feels like I am going to puke. I am sorry you had an audience this morning.
@goofygoff LOL. I keep finding myself making grunting sounds getting up off the couch or turning over in bed. I definitely do not remember this happening so soon last time. I'm not that big yet. Not sure why it's taking so much effort!

@Lark425 and @lawsonellis Yay! Good luck at the a/s! Fingers crossed for good views.
@Darbie914 Yay to 'healthy' breakfast.
@racegurl87 Glad all went well with your pups surgery. The cone of shame is pretty hilarious but they always look so sad. Post a pic if you get the chance?

aaand every seedless grape Im eating, has a seed. They taste like hell if you havent had the pleasure of biting down into a grape seed. I feel jipped.
@JennyP0222 I think those pjs look good for boy or girl. Cute!
