It's go time!

Woke up to contractions 5 minutes apart which quickly changed to 3 minutes apart and got us on our way. Got checked at my midwife's office and clocked in at 5 cm and contractions were 2 and a half to 3 minutes apart on the monitor. I told her I hadn't eaten yet so she told me to grab breakfast and meet her at the hospital in about 2 hours. Baby is posterior and having a hard time coming down so wish us luck!

You can do this. I've had two posteriors and have been fine, so don't let that worry you. Your labor pattern with a posterior can be unpredictable, so just trust your body and let it do its thing!

Phew- what a day! Decided to go home when I wasn't progressing past 5 cm and came back 6 hours later in full throws of labor. My midwife checked me at her office and I almost cried when she said I was 6 cm but I didn't tell her I thought I was peeing myself or I felt the urge to push. We walked over to the hospital and within the hour Michael William arrived. They barely got my penicillin pumping before I delivered so we have to watch him for GBS complications and they pulled off my pants and shoes in a panic because I was pushing full force in no time at all. My water burst which it turns out had been leaking all along and baby came! 7lb 11oz and 18.75 inches. We were completely shocked to find out it is a boy and DD spent all evening giving her new baby brother kisses
