I had a bit of nervousness due to eating some salami. Didn't realize we should stay away from it. I had some with cheese and then this morning i fried it with an egg.
ETA: like other posters, I don't stop eating lunch meats etc, but cut back on sushi with the "illegal' ingredients. Otherwise everything else is fair game (soft yolks etc etc).

I had a missed miscarriage about 5 years ago and am under the impression caffeine may increase the risk of miscarriage. I am not willing to risk going through that ordeal again if I can avoid it. Until the second trimester comes around, I am off caffeine altogether.
As for chocolate. There are minimal amounts of caffeine in chocolate and I have a major addiction. I never expected to give it up completely, but hoped I could manage to back off. It hasn't happened - I bought Halloween candy at Target the other day and haven't been able to leave it alone!
Oh- but you're talking food cravings? Probably sushi, I double checked with my doctor and she said I could do baked rolls, but to avoid all "raw things" besides fruits and veggies.

I understand all of that, but as long as you stay under 200mg of caffeine a day, you are fine. That is what every pregnant woman is "allowed" to have, and usually if a miscarriage is caused by over-indulgence of caffeine, it's when someone goes over this limit daily. Nothing to worry about!

Are there seriously any documented cases of caffeine causing a miscarriage?!?!
Seriously?
I feel like this is completely faulty information...
The only thing I've really heard doctors/research say on caffeine is that too much of it can cause low birth weight. But that's it- and that's why they say to just stay at or below the recommended daily amount.
EDIT: I stand corrected - please see @ramy3's awesome copy paste post below.
Again - I am not willing to add any additional risk to going through a loss again. It hurt like hell and it isn't harming me to avoid it. Guess I am being over protective, but I feel a twinge better for it. The headache has been gone for weeks now.
It is nice to see a change in position on caffeine and pregnancy, though.
Plus I am getting a little through all the damn chocolate. A strong cup of coffee (I drink it like tar - thick and black) likely meets the 200mg! Chocolate may out it over that limit.
I break all the "rules" A few weekends ago me and DH went on a date to a new sushi place downtown, ate allllll the sushi (even some raw) and here I am living! also I drink coke only one small bitty can a day...and chocolate of course. Oh and I love me some fresh deli meat on a nice soft sub bun! And to top all that off I eat over easy eggs at least 2 times a week. It's always a pregnancy craving for me! Yum yum yum!
We've had a ton of Halloween parties, and of course everyone is drinking. A friend of mine had a fireball nip, so after he took it I dipped my finger on the rim and licked it. It was pretty pathetic, hah.
I haven't been craving anything that's "pregnancy illegal"...but I'm a 7-year vegan and I'm starting to have weird cravings for non vegan things. Luckily none of them have been for, say, bacon (I haven't eaten meat since I was 8 years old and I don't think I could handle that), but I have been wanting very specific milk chocolates, Eggos, and ice cream. I do see a nutritionist who is totally on board with my diet as it is, so I'm not concerned that these cravings are indicating I need some nutrients, but it is irritating.
People in CO have their panties all up in a bunch because there is a restaurant named "Illegal Pete's", because they say it's dehumanizing. I get it (to a degree), but come on. There are plenty of other problems going on in this world than the name of a restaurant to cause an uproar over.
Edit: Words are hard
I don't get it? What's wrong with that name?
There is a brand of spices and sauces in Louisiana that's called "Slap ya Mama". They use to advertise during the Saints game but the NFL made them stop because it promoted abuse. OMG seriously?? That's a saying I've heard since I was a kid, it just means it's good.
Yep I'm way out in left field, just how my brain works.

I have Celiac Disease, which means I can't have gluten. I had intense cravings for Taco Bell, especially the chalupa. Which is weird, because even before I found out I had Celiac, I didn't like chalupas.

They said it is offensive and dehumanizing to immigrants. I can't relate to this, but come on, find something more important to be in an uproar about...

Apparently I'm breaking the "law" left and right. Coffee makes my stomach turn lately but I'd have no problem drinking it if it didn't. Lunch meat (my doctor is totally on board with this, thinks the recommendation to avoid is outdated), chocolate, coca cola... all consumed. I've had soft serve ice cream. Planning on a sushi date with a friend (I'll personally go for cooked sushi, but I hardly think having raw from a reputable restaurant would be the worst thing ever).
The one thing I didn't give into was my craving for a Mai Tai last week. Wasn't sure I could have just one sip
My doctor must be super laid back. She acted like a lot of these were outdated, and the only thing she truly recommended against was undercooked food. As for seafood, she said to limit fish with high mercury… definitely not to totally cut out seafood since fish is good for you! She said I could have an occasional beer or glass of wine late in the 2nd trimester/3rd trimester.
But according to previous posts… coffee, chocolate, seafood, lunch meat, medium rare steak, 1 piece of tuna roll (gasp!), ice cream out of a machine, a small sample of beer… I'm sure I've committed other crimes against pregnancy food but I can't think of them at the moment.
I had no clue being pregnant meant avoiding lunch meats. I had a turkey sandwich and I've eaten almost two packages of salami+mustard in a week. Oops :-?? I'm also craving sushi, but haven't given in. I usually LOVE chocolate and coffee and all things sweet but now it turns my stomach so I've stayed away.

I'm trying not to overindulge in things that some say are risky to eat while pregnant, but I have consumed: deli meat, not-fully-cooked eggs, bacon, sips of beer, and raw scallops. I feel fine! Well, minus the fatigue and nausea and bloat... but that's independent of the food, I'm sure.
Excited to have sushi too, after reading the other thread about sushi that's on the board. It's more the hubby that seems to be more paranoid about what I eat - not me.
All I have been thinking about is an ice cold beer straight from the bottle-and a glass of red wine!! Patiently counting down until the 2nd trimester when my ob says "a glass here and there isn't going to hurt the baby". When I was preg with DD the smell of beer would make me gag. Definitely not this time around

Chocolate - I can't stay away from chocolate. I have managed to give up coffee, despite the week long headache I had as a result.
I ate sushi.
