pouches

Re: pouches

  • We started doing pouches a couple of months ago when he started mother's day out.  They are so convenient and now that he can drink from the pouch I like the cleaner meals.  I don't understand how he can eat from the pouches like a straw though and doesn't know how to use a normal straw.

yeah, I'm not buying the maggots story either.  I'm not worried too much about contaminants or  choking, my girls just don't seem to understand the concept of squeezing the Ipouch.  They just bite on the top of it and then throw it aside.

I don't know why I am kind of grossed out by them.  I think it has to do with drinking thick liquids.  I don't like smoothies either, or drinks like V8.

The first time Carmen had one I put it in her mouth and squeezed just enough so some came out in her mouth and did it 3 or 4 different times. She got the hang of it. Sometimes it gets pretty messy and the dog eats half of it off the floor lol

  • Does anyone else's kids hate purées. I bought her 2 pouches for a camping trip. I tasted them first just to make sure they tasted okay. She will suck it up and then just spit it out. She doesn't like juice either. I tried pear juice for constipation and she hates it, she also refused mashed potatoes with cheese but loves pasta. She will eat regular pieces of fruit though, so I'm not sure if she doesn't like the texture of purées or if she doesn't like the tartness of the processed fruits. It's confusing.

I use to give them to DD with a spoon then she wanted to hold it and suck out the food. We did that till a few weeks ago when she decided she didn't like pouches anymore and wanted food she could pick up and or try and feed herself with a spoon. When she ate them she loved them. I would get the happy baby/tot and sprout brands. Edited for typeos
