Happy Back-to-Work Day! Anyway, DH and I are planning TTC soon and I need advice. We are planning to attend a DW in Tulum, Mexico at a gorgeous all-inclusive resort. My OB/Gyn (actually still my Gyn at this point) said I could travel up to 5 months. Is that the consensus? 5 months sounds like a pretty arbitrary number. TIA.....
Re: TTC soon: traveling to Mexico all-inclusive while PG?
I would want to wait til AFTER the all-inclusive trip to get pregnant, but that's just me.

My OB says I can travel up to 30 weeks (I'm high risk.)
My SIL's doc says she can travel up to the day she gives birth.
I think every doctor is different.
I'm jealous and I'd SO go to Tulum -- at this point, I don't think I'd plan my life around "what if I'm pregnant?" Go and have a great time!!
Ha, I agree!
whoops - hit enter too soon.
anyway - i was going to say - yep. me too. hellloooooo? haven't you ever heard of a cabana boy serving you margaritas on the beach? and for free? yep. pretty sure i'd wait to TTC.

I was told it was ok til 7 or 8 months. Dr said it was not a travel issue .. just that you don't want to go into labor in the air or a different country
have fun

i was allowed to travel up until 8 months with DD and presumably will be the same this time. but i ditto on waiting to TTC because all-inclusive sounds pretty lame if you're pregnant and especially if you're at a tired stage of your pregnancy.
I would probably be hesitant depending on the area in Mexico. I'm not familiar with Tulum but I would call and see what type of medical care the resort offers. I used to travel to Mexico all the time but my BFF's dad was in a car accident in the same town I go to (relatively small) and died as a result of inadequate medical care. He survived for 6 hours there and certainly would have lived were he in a US hospital. The hospital didn't even have a defibrillator. A defibrillator. I have one about 5 feet from my desk in an IT office, I can see it right now. And a hospital was lacking one. If something were to happen it can be bad news, even though it's small odds, I have reevaluated taking my DD to Mexico and have certainly learned that the best course of action may be to head for the border in the event of an issue. Sorry, that's very Debbie Downer of me but it's a sensitive subject fo rme.
Exactly, just go...
