Re: it's not Hawaii but we still like morning SPAM

  • I'm so tired and I got 9 hours of sleep. Been like this all week.
But on a side note my DH and his friend really cheesed me off last night. They decided to sceem a plan together to use me as there DD. His friend decided it would be a great idea to do a double date and go see a State game. Of course I'd have to be the driver cause I'm pregnant. When my DH told me they wanted to do the double date I caught on very quick were this was going. I was so pissed.
Now you see I don't mind being DD if I have to but to plan a trip that's 2 hours from my house and use me so that everyone can party really makes me mad. Besides I don't even like MI State!
    Sorry for the rant.
    Now I'm really tired.

  • @jennjilljoite love titting out of sympathy...sleep has not come easy here either, particularly because of DH's ridiculous snoring/breathing.

@holachicaaa I'm pretty sure my mom bought us The Wire series for Christmas and I CANNOT wait to watch it! I've never seen it before.

I rearranged the furniture in the master bedroom and the girls' room last night and my crotch/groin/pelvis/hips are NOT happy this morning. Thank gawd for heating pads! No interesting plans here today except cleaning up the remainder of the mess I made from last night. I swear whenever I "clean" or "organize" I make an even bigger mess than when I started.

I hope everyone has a great Saturday!

I asked MH which crib bedding does he like. So from my post last week I'm having such a hard time on deciding. He told me he likes the coral and aqua..many times.

I loved it too but just realized I like the pink/sage green tiny bit better. He really wants his choice so I guess I'm done. I will need all your decorating skills soon!

Oh but the pink is soo pretty! I've got issues..

Well not all of the swatches on the pink will show up since most was on the bumper.

Tip: Carry the swatch with you, so when you go shopping for decor and nursery stuff you can color match. I didn't get swatches with my stuff, but I have been carrying around the crib sheet. lol. I found a paint swatch from home depot with a pink that was very close to the pink in the bedding the other day since I needed some pink paint for a small project in the nursery, so now I carry the paint swatch around instead of the crib sheet.

I am definitely sending DH to Publix for lunch. He didn't know it was open yet. Woo hoo!

I'm having a clothing and shoe crisis over this wedding we are going to today. It's at a horse farm and the invitation seems pretty casual. I don't know the bride or any other women going so I can't ask them. Do you think a summery dress with a cardigan and cowboy boots would be acceptable? It's thankfully going to be 72ish degrees here today and sunny so I shouldn't be too cold. Here's the invitation. HELLLPPPP

  • Popping in to vent for a second.

I  am in full on nesting mode, but before I can even think about touching Reid's room, we have to get the basement done so that we can move the playroom stuff down there. Not to mention the fact that Hailey's birthday party is in 1 WEEK, and it's only supposed to be 50 degrees, so we can't plan on being able to have people hang out outside on the deck like we have for the past 2 years. Made plans for Hailey to stay with my parents today and tonight so that we could work today, and then my sister even offered to take her last night for a sleepover with her cousin. Last night we actually got stuff done. Today, Brett's dad was supposed to come help move some plumbing stuff and it's now almost noon and that hasn't even been started. We had just started to make some progress on finishing the drywall when Brett got an e-mail and said he had to come upstairs to work on something for work! OMG! I am feeling like this is never going to be done! And the rest of the house is a complete mess, because we have been spending all of our free time in the basement.   Oh and that's not even going into the fact that currently my guest room is covered in all the baby stuff that we have so far and my dad and step-mom are coming on Thur and will need a place to sleep....  Why can't anyone else understand how stressed all of this is making me and actually help me get stuff going?!?!

Ok, End Rant.   Happy Saturday everyone!

  • Morning! I thought for sure I was going to get a ticket on my way to work this morning, I was wearing camo though so maybe the cop didn't see me but I was shocked I didn't get pulled over! I have never gotten a ticket before but I speed all the time, my husband never speeds and always gets pulled over the minute he does.

I need some help with my mat leave plan. My boss is coming in to discuss in a few days, and I have to submit my written plan 6 weeks prior to going (unless its an emergency and the doctor signs me off)

I have to decide when I am going to go, I get 1 year at 55% wages. I thought that I might go early so that I have time to relax before baby comes but January is our slowest month and I figure I might as well get paid to sit around and do nothing, BUT coming back during our slowest month next year might "ease" me into it. My doc is putting my official due date as Feb 12th, even though the earlier u/s said feb 7/8. So I was thinking maybe stop working Feb 1st?

Also I need to decided if I want to buy the extended benefits. I am in Canada so all health care is covered except dentist, prescriptions, massage ect. If I buy the coverage it is like 400 a month (my work usually pays for it but they don't when you are on leave) That's 4800 a year. We spend maybe 1000 a year on the dentist (and truthfully can skip one year until I go back to work and my work will pay again) and MAYBE $400 a year on prescriptions, maybe that. Some years its 0. I do use the massage and chiro and acupuncture but they each only have a $500 limit. so that's 1500. So max in a year that we have used it for is $3000. I know things could happen and we might need it more but I don't think its worth it.

Also, I need to decide if I want to casually work. We have discussed me coming in for 4 hours every second Saturday. Either I would get paid for this or I could bank the time and use it at the end of my leave. So if I worked 20 Saturdays they would give me 20 paid days at the end of my leave at 100% pay..

    So many decisions.

  • @DronkeyGal‌ that is confusing. Our wedding invites had how we wanted people to dress on them to avoid that confusion. I think a nice dress and boots should be fine especially if it's on a farm.

Yes. I had our wedding at the farm, lots of people wore black jeans and cowboy boots or dresses and cowboy boots and mine was a little on the fancier side for a farm wedding!
  • As for me I have a wedding today and tomorrow! Then I have a good chunk of time off finally! Really I'm at the point where if I had to keep working like this every week I don't think my body could handle it. I am so exhausted. #:-S Luckily, Next week is completely empty so I can spend some time packing, grocery shopping, cleaning, and hopefully I can make another trip to our storage unit. DH is still gone for a while so I want to have as much done as possible before he comes home.

  • @ckimberley14‌ it was!
After breakfast, we came home and FIL and DH moved the couch from my library/the nursery to the playroom. I'm excited to have a place to sit in the playroom now. I'm working on cleaning out the playroom closet, which is mostly just putting DVDs into a binder, so I can move my books in. Then, we will be ready for my parents to paint when they come in a few weeks. I think DH even settled on a paint color from the samples I picked and brought home. I'm feeling a lot better about the nursery's progress now. It seemed so daunting a few days ago, but with my sewing machine in the guest room and the couch out, it doesn't seem so bad.

  • It looks like there are some rough days out there so here's an adorable sloth hug and a really cute picture of DS cuddling the bump (sorry that there's skin showing but he pulls my shirt up for the skin to skin contact). Rosalyn kicked him in the face the entire time he was curled up but he didn't move.
Your DS is so freaking adorable!!! Scarlett pats my bump but so far Sakura hasn't poked back. It'll be interesting to see how she reacts when it does happen. :)
Thanks. He's a sweetie most of the time, too. This picture also gives an example of what happens to tattoos. That snake looking thing used to be a dragon and the dark spot behind it is the wings. I'm sure the minute that your bump becomes a pillow Scarlett will get kicked. I hope we get to hear her reaction from the first time getting kicked.

  • @Alygohome‌ I'll spare you my extreme jealousy! (I'll be lucky to get an uninterrupted full month, but there again we probably pay much lower income taxes...) I would seriously consider the every other Saturday deal (especially if maybe you could take the first one off and have an uninterrupted month). The income supplementation would be a nice option to exercise if you need it, and you'll probably enjoy being able to keep up with the office goings-on so you don't feel completely removed from it all when you get back. I too would probably choose Feb 1st barring any medical urgency. Good luck!

Well, I'm off to get a Sub sandwich for lunch, thanks for that guys!
  • @DronkeyGal‌ doooonnt doooo ittttt!! Sorry, I'm really cranky because I got lost and then called and after getting 5 mins of directions he was all, "are you coming for work?" And I was all, "no, I'm a hangry pregnant lady ready for subs." And he was all, "oh, we don't open until Wednesday...

Then why the heck did your deli staff tell my DH we could order subs over the phone?!?!

Ugh. We got which which instead. So disappointing.

I think I might take the first two months uninterrupted and then add in the two days a month. Thanks for your opinion, I feel like I can't make decisions to save my life anymore!

@DronkeyGal‌ - ummm that's the most ridiculous reception venue I've ever seen! I'm not sure I'd be super happy to hang out literally in horse stables all night. Ugh.

On a related note: can this whole "rustic wedding" trend just be over already? It was fun for a while but if I go to one more reception that features burlap-covered mason jars, birch tree branches strung with white lights or "distressed" wooden signs pointing towards the bathroom or the coffee station I will scream. The last wedding we went to literally had logs for benches at dinner (like, straight up, hauled-in-from-the-forest logs) and it was the most uncomfortable thing dinner I've ever sat through. Ugh. Enough already.

Agree 100%. We will be leaving early! The ceremony was in front of an empty corn field in folding chairs that we were then required to carry up to the barn to use for dinner. I did not carry a chair. Now waiting in line for the one bathroom here for 150 people. Dear lord.

  • Was woken up early by SS and had to get up to make him and his brother and sister something to eat before dropping them off to their mom. Omg he really put me in a bad mood he would not stop whinning about wanting to play my phone and started throwing a tantrum which I ignored. I left them alone for a second to go pee heard a loud tud like something had fallen and in the middle of the floor was his brother crying because he got punched. I was over it by that time got myself ready and took them to their mom. Stopped got some fried chicken and napped all day. Also is it wrong that it bothered me that a girl announced she was having a boy when her only back up is that sex determinator thing you pee on. I mean is she really that stupid she posted the picture of that cup filled with her piss. I mean I'm not judging her for taking that test thing after all its 50/50 so she might get lucky and it will actually be a boy.   ok end of rant.

@biaher16‌ seriously there's a cup of her pee on social media? Ewww. Some people are really too much.

I had a bad night, non stop chain of nightmares for hours and a leg cramp as the finale at 5am. I don't remember much of the nightmares, except one segment where both my parents passed within 48 hours of each other and no one bothered to tell me about it until days later. I apparently got combative during one of the episodes and started shoving DH in my sleep until he held my hand to calm me down. Crazy night and I'm tired now

Pumpkin carving dinner party at my house tonight. Just got done with prepping for food. Going to bake some molten chocolate mini cakes soon. I need the sugar pick me up after a rough night. GD and weight concerns would have to wait another day.

  • Getting really sick and tired of hubby spending 30+ minutes in the bathroom every time he goes. He goes to the bathroom at least 6-8 times a day, and each time he's in there for at least half an hour doing god knows what on his effing phone! And thats just on a regular weekday! The weekends are worse! I hardly get to spend any time with him as it is and what ever little time we get together, he spends 50% in the effing bathroom! The rest of the time he's either sleeping, nodding off on the couch, stuffing his face with late night snacks, sitting on the couch watching Netflix, or too tired to engage in any type of conversation! WTF?!
