Worried need advice ! Thanks

I've felt baby move since 19 weeks and I'm 20 weeks and 2 days and the last 2 days I've felt nothing. I've tried all the tricks to get him to move and I can't feel anything. :/
Is that normal? I have an anterior placenta could that affect feeling movements on some days?
Just worried and seeking advice before going to doctor to see if this is normal because I go for everything and get looked at crazy lol. Which doesn't matter but still.
I'm a second time mom and when I felt my first son I felt him everyday when it started.
Thanks ladies!

  • I did do the water trick and felt nothing :/ I'm not bleeding or anything so that's good right? That makes sense also I was just feeling him different times through out the day and I haven't felt anything. Just really makes me worry :/ my OB closes at 11 on Fridays so they are closed and the er is so dreadful here.

  • I don't think I felt constant movement with my first until after 24 weeks. It's still pretty early. Does your Dr. have an after hours line? You could always call and ask rather than go in.

Idk about movements I'm a FTM I've felt baby move sporadically day to day I'm only 18 weeks 5 days. However I do have a Doppler 50 dollars on Amazon so that I'm not driving myself crazy about the baby bcuz I surely was and I had bleeding for 3 days which had me concerned and miscarried before. So instead of putting myself through the agony I just ordered one and the babies heart beat is music to my ears! Also from a medical back ground not bleeding is not an indicator that baby is okay. And if u read up on some fetal movement material like a lot of the moms have already stated movement Isint consistent until 24 weeks plus! I was a ob nurse. Hope I was helpful! :)

Get a Doppler. Fetal movements are unpredictable, especially with an anterior placenta. I have one and the only reason I feel the baby move is that she's taking after me and is EXTREMELY active in the womb. My experience is very unusual for an anterior placenta. Yours is the norm.

  • Normal. Stop worrying. If after 25 weeks you are not feeling movement talk with your OB

  • Thank you ladies so much!
  • STM here 21 weeks and I still have days where I barely feel movement. It is really common not to feel regular movement at this point. Honestly I wouldn't worry about it.

  • STM here and it's totally normal! I understand your concern, but please don't freak yourself out. I would feel my baby some days and then nothin for days and days and she is just fine in there. There's a reason why most ob's tell patients to wait until 32 weeks to start counting kicks. Before that it's sporadic at best. Also you may have an anterior placenta like I do and that makes it even harder to feel. Remember, baby has tons of room in there still and when he or she is facing inwards, you won't feel a thing. If you think you won't be able to relax, I'd invest in a Doppler. I personally don't have one but that's only because even my dr has a hard time finding her hb because of my placenta and I know I'd upset myself to no end if i couldn't find it. Being PgaL, I don't want to borrow trouble
