Do you celebrate Halloween? Are you just choosing not to? Are you trick-or-treating, staying home, or going to a party? And most importantly, what are your little nuggets going to dress up as?!
Quinn is wearing her big sisters puppy costume from her first Halloween. It was from Pottery Barn so I'm getting my money's worth out of that damn thing. Our neighborhood is having a party so we'll go to that. My nine year old and her friend are dressing up as the Grady twins from The Shining, and my twelve year old is just hanging out with a friend and MAY be too old to go trick-or-treating but "just in case they get bored" he got a horse mask. He wants to go, but he's too cool to admit it. I wish I could dress up. I saw a slutty Minion costume. I so want to be a slutty Minion.
@celticlullaby - Ha! I also forced my child to endure misery and rage while I snapped a few pics.
She clearly does NOT want to be a pink unicorn for Halloween. I think she's going to be a very low-key black cat - IF I can get her to keep her hat on. She hates anything on her head!
Eli has 3 costumes... we bought one last year on clearance at babies r us, Winnie the Pooh. Then at Christmas my parents gave us a Superman costume. Then a month ago my BIL mailed us a Mickey Mouse costume because he thought it was cute. So he was Winnie the Pooh at a bonfire we went to a few weeks ago, Superman at the babies r us "baby's first Halloween" event and he will be Mickey on Halloween. Whew.
Anyone seen a baby ghost costume in the stores? DD has a flower costume but now DS is going to be a ghostbuster so I thought it would be cute if DD was a ghost.
This weekend we have a huge Halloween tailgate at DS's school. It is so much fun. Then on Halloween DS will TOT with some neighborhood friends.
Then the following week we will donate at least 5 lbs of candy to be sent to soldiers because we will have way too much.
DD is going to be a little monkey. No trick or treating this year. Instead we will all be home to hand out candy to the 200 kids that come around our development. Can't wait! She is going to wear her costume for a few parties too
This is a picture of the hat. I just sewed on a flower today to make it a bit more girly.
Ben is a parrot. Zach is Jake, so he wanted Ben to be Skully but they barely even make parrot costumes small enough, let alone green ones! We've done two local trick or treat things and we're doing one more on Halloween, plus we'll hand out treats after we're done in our neighborhood.
DS will be a teddy bear.
Eta- we will probably just go over to the IL's to take pictures and have dinner. Nothing special. No need for trick or treating.
LO and DD will be minions (not slutty, thank God!). DH will be Gru and I'll be Vector. Our neighborhood gets really into Halloween. We have a potluck and lots of drinks before trick or treating begins. Oh yeah!
DS1 is a football player and DS2 will either be a football or a ref. The football is a fleece bunting but it's been unseasonably warm so he might just be wearing a regular shirt.
Our grocery store has trick or treating and games/activities tomorrow. On Halloween we'll stop by the great grandparents, grandparents, and aunts/uncles houses.
Chase is going to be curious George & his sister will be man with the yellow hat. She's been begging her daddy to be jumpy squirrel ) Were going to do a mall trick or treat this year maybe a few houses on Halloween but it's going to be cold so no desire.
DS1 will be a tiger. My MIL made the costume and it has an old-English D on it for the Detroit Tigers, so I made DS2 a baseball costume to compliment it. (As in, he will be a baseball. He's already round, so it's an easy costume.)
Candy corn! I'm obsessed with candy corn. I ordered from Etsy candy corn leg warmers, a bodysuit and headband. Was too cheap to get the tutu skirt for an extra $20 but she'll still look damn cute!
LO has a pumpkin costume and we'll alternate between that and a pirate for play group and play dates next week. Although I think Mexican wrestler would be fun!
Big sis is going to be Elsa from Frozen. So we were going to dress Leighton up at Anna but I suck and didn't order the costume. So she will be a pumpkin bc that's what we found at Target today.
Tman is going as a crab, due to his nickname as Mr. Crab. Technically it's a lobster, but I do what I WANT.
Dd is a witch.
We're going to a trunk or treat event today and will be taking them ToT on Halloween. LO won't get candy; we'll just be showing him off to the neighbors.
Harley will be N owl! We will be going go my work Halloween party, and showing off her costume at my mom's and my friends house earlier on the day.
It's my MILs bfs birthday Halloween, so we will be going over there, having a party, abd possibly going out for the main event with DHs brothers, ages 6 and 10.
@celticlullaby Well, this caused a lot of debate for us too! Haha we settled on LO being Donatello because DH thinks that will be LO's favorite because his name is Derek. (Both Ds) As far as DH and I, I am Michelangelo and DH is Leonardo.
Here are the costumes. Nothing special..but LO's are pajamas and he can where them after halloween too.
..Apparently DH and I are dressing up for Halloween now. We were rewatching Game of Thrones, realized DS already has a dragon costume... and now I'm being Danaerys and he will be Sir Jorah.

I think he actually looks like a bunny, the one from the movie A Christmas Story. He's not happy. Ha.
