April 2015 Moms

FFFC, guise.

I will start us off today, because I had one come to mind after work last night.  I do not understand the fascination with other women's pregnancies.  For example, women at work who found out I was pregnant and asked (every single one of them) if I had morning sickness.  And this one lady who every time she sees me squeals about my "little belly" and giggles.  Am I wrong in finding that strange?

What else you guys got?  Happy Friday!

I have people asking me "What baby number is this?" When I answer 4, I get the craziest looks. Often I get to hear, "Oh you crazy woman" or "You poor thing." WTH o.O Sure my oldest 3 were a set of 3 under 3 when they were little and just born, but gosh they are up in Elementary school now. I don't see where the crazy is. Honestly I wanted a 4th kiddo. I need to think up some good replies for when people get rude about how many kids we have lol.

*** Had to edit, didn't realize I typed school twice.

  • @Tonysgirl03, people just live in their own little worlds where only their way of thinking is correct!  Me personally, I wouldn't want more than 2, but to each their own.  As long as they aren't working the system somehow or having more than they can handle, what do I care?

  • I have a friendly acquaintance that keeps asking me about my pregnancy and is really excited for my ultrasound (in a month!) I get excited for close friends or friends I know who have been struggling to get pregnant, but not as inquisitive as her and these are people that I actually hang out with, you know have their phone number for instance.

I always giggle when its the little old ladies that are gushing over your belly (or what they think is baby belly). They mean well. If they are closer to your age, then maybe they still have a case of baby fever ;)

  • @Tonysgirl03‌ I also come from a large family and would love 4-5 kids! I'm going to have 3 under 4 and am already tired of the comments. Can I ask what your spacing is? I'd love to have a break between 3 and 4, but I didn't know if it would be weird.
  • @Meganbethg I love that shirt!

  • The doctor called to say my Verifi results were in. All results in the normal range - yay! As for the sex, I told them that DH and I want to find out together so they put the results in an envelope.

My FFFC: I don't know if I want to open it. Not yet. Maybe at Christmas? I never considered myself a Team Green-er but all of a sudden I don't want to know.

There is a part of me that loves the idea of being team green. The best surprise you can ever get. This one, i'm just starting to feel kind of anxious about and i'm thinking it would make me feel better to find out. Maybe a future child we'll go TG!

  •  No, we are totally independent and are not on any government assistance (not that there is anything wrong with that). We are going to end up being the only ones in both our families to have any children (long story). If they can't have cousins, then they will have each other. I love a large family. Its fun! Both our Moms come from large families, so it was a bit sad when we realized none of our siblings want kids. I love going to all the busy family gatherings and seeing the massive amount of love on such a big scale. My babies are well taken care of, a bit spoiled (but who's kid isn't in some way) and are loved for who they are <3

We're in the same boat as you... I want 4 as well. We're on #2 and they're close in age like yours. My kids are going to need each other because they won't have cousins close in age.

    Also, you go girl!

I'm tired of randoms at work asking "are you finding out what it is?!"  1.  I already found out, it's a human, and 2.  Yes, I will be finding out the sex, but you aren't the first person I'm going to run and tell.

Idk, but I don't want to share on Facebook that we are having a little boy and I'm being selective with the family and friends I tell. But....I am freely sharing with my work buddies. I don't get it, lol.

  • @Shoeflypie , Thanks sweetie and you rock too!  Its not easy having 2 under 2, heck, or any set so close in age. It wasn't part of our plan, but it was what we ended up with. I would do it over again in a heartbeat.

  • Let's see. I have a sore throat and a snotty head cold, so I plan to wallow all day. I will feed DD cheerios and let the house fall apart. Then I'll have DH make me some pancakes for dinner. He doesn't known about any of this yet. Does that count as a confession?

  • Both of my pregnancies, as soon as I've announced I'm pregnant one of my employees gets pregnant too. It annoys me because now I have to spend my whole pregnancy trying to figure out how to get THEIR maternity leave covered. Can't I just have one pregnancy to myself where I don't have to worry about someone else's problems?

I never liked the show Friends.  In fact, I hated it even more after a willful hairdresser gave me the ridiculous "Rachel" haircut when I was 12 and had only asked for a trim.  I had curly, unruly hair, and he straightened it and gave me the super-unmanageable cut.  I then, as a 12 year old, had to straighten and primp my hair every morning for about an hour.  I'm still bitter.  Friggin Rachel.image

  • nincompoopery aww, bummer. We are in the UK (for the next couple years). We can order a US spec car through AAFES, but I want to make sure I know what I want before we go through all that. OR just wait out the last two years, sell my mini van, and just get a new car in the states. Trying to find something that seats 7 or more with actual room to spare.

Your car looks awesome though! It would drive well over here, I think the wheel is on the right side too for Japan.

  • I don't mind pregnancy questions.  There are only so many questions people usually think to ask so yes you will get asked them a lot.  I think it's fun to be "popular" for a little while.  When are you due, how far along are you, how are you feeling, do you know what you are having, do you have names picked out....those are pretty standard and if they bother you I think you better get used to them, you will be asked them a lot.

I agree. I don't mind being asked questions.  I think it is exciting to talk about.  Morning sickness and my gas aren't really exciting topics but what can you do.
I hate when people post pictures of their ultrasounds or growing bellies on fb.  Especially when it is to let people know the sex.  I don't need to see your baby's junk on my fb feed.  The bellies annoy me especially when they aren't baby bellies but bloat.  I don't need to see your gas baby.

  • FFFC x 3:

My husbands morning breath made me vomit, I hope it teaches him a lesson because I don't feel bad that I hurt his feelings.

I'm still wearing all of my regular pants with no issues, truth-be-told I still have at least 3 inches in some of them.

@LowTalker23‌ I want you to know PitBull is the person I most want to have dinner with, not because I find him attractive (I don't), but because he genuinely seems really interesting.
  • @lcole08 BRILLIANT. So doing this if I can get my scan before vacation.

    My confessions for the day:

I am so overtired that I am loony. I have an 'appointment' with a fridge guy between the hours of 10am and 1pm. I was in the shower at 5 after 10, finishing up when i swore i heard the doorbell ring. So I'm cursing to get covered to be able to answer the door... only to find I'm fucking bat shit crazy right now. No service guys ever show up at the earliest time ever.

DH and I want to find out sex so bad before we go on vacation. It's partially really just selfish, bc we want to be able to shop at disney and if you've ever been there, you know there is no real gender neutral. Which sucks. So i am hoping that my midwife will allow me to go in at 18 weeks to have the scan instead of making me wait until 20. I just want to know and the fact that DH wants to know... makes me want to know more.

  • I also am already annoyed by all of the pregnancy questions. Mostly because I hate answering them over and over again.  I know people are genuinely curious and mean well, but I'm sick of people asking how I'm feeling.  I haven't had anyone rubbing my belly yet, but I've had a couple of people comment on my bump, which is slowly starting to show.  Unintentionally, I'm still really self-conscious about the idea of having a "gut".

I didn't want to start a SS thread for this..but I suppose confession time is kinda fitting anyway..

I want to apologize to everyone for the insanity yesterday in the UO thread...I never ment for it to go past what I originally posted and I know, I should have known better than to post a very political and personal opinion in the middle of all of the April ladies. So I'm sorry ladies no more touchy topics from me!

Just wanted to say sorry if I ruined it for anyone.

    Edit: pregnancy brain with words..
  • I get so annoyed at the posts that start with, "Hey guys, I tried the search box but didn't see anything posted about this already!"  Congrats on knowing how to use the search function, but just post your fucking story.  Using this statement will not save you from snark if you deserve it.

I may throat punch the next person who asks me "Where are you hiding that baby, shouldn't you be showing by now!"  He's in my ute, and he's going to be in there for a while.  And yes, I will have a bump exactly when my body decides it 'should' have a bump.

It's fine to post political stuff in UO/FFFC (that's what it's for!), you just have to own it if shit goes south and it turns out your opinion is unpopular enough to get a response. I've posted UOs that have gotten argued with plenty! If that's not what you're looking for theb def don't post that stuff and stick to talking about which celebrity you find strangely hot or weird foods you enjoy/don't enjoy, which is what a lot of UO is about too

I know, I felt attacked which made me feel like I had to attack back.
Bitch day for me. Just wanted to say sorry to everyone for starting that crazy thing lol.

When my BFF was pregnant for the 2nd time, I was happy for her but wasn't ecstatic. Now she always texts me asking how I feel???!!!!

I feel fine, normal if you will. I never felt sick or exhausted or anything.

Other friends that just found out kept asking me yesterday how I felt and if I was sick and if I had any cravings. When I said no, they said maybe I'm too early.

Um, I'm almost 17 weeks. I think that ship has sailed
