Re: Baby Wearing Check in for the week of 10/20
2. Wrap! DS falls asleep in it right away but I'm still figuring out how to get him in there correctly. I'm always worried his legs aren't in there right.
3. I only have the Moby wrap but I think I'll be getting an Ergo for when he's a little bigger. The wrap makes us both a little warm.
4. Not having to always use the travel system and being able to eat without having to put him down. I'm looking forward to figuring out how to nurse while he's in the wrap too.

2. What have you been trying with your baby this week/ when you have your baby what will you be trying? We will stick with the moby for a while. We have an ergo too that we will use when he is bigger. I am not a fan of the ergo infant insert.
3. What kinds of carriers have you tried and what did you like/dislike about them? I have only tried the moby and the ergo. The moby is great for when they are small to keep them snugly. I am still getting used to tying it well again. I feel like I am a sloppy wrapper. I like the ergo for when they are 4 months and older
4. What do you like best about baby wearing? I can interact with my toddler while still cradling my newborn. My toddler will often ask if the baby can go in the moby because he then feels like all my attention is on him.
2) mainly just a simple Front Wrap Cross Carry since I can get him in it so quickly but its nice and tight!
3) I have a Moby but my sister is borrowing it, 3 wovens, 3 ring slings (one is a water one and my sister is also borrowing another) and a mei tai. The MT is very uncomfortable but it was my first so I keep it around :P
4) Being able to keep LO close while still caring for siblings. I can wear all four kids depending on the carrier!!! I often end up tandem carrying too!!
2. We used the ring sling for a bit but due to the complications I had after delivery I'm still really sore and wearing was uncomfortable. DD#3 loved it though.
3. I'm a babywearing educator so you name it and I've probably tried it. My personal preference, especially for a newborn, are the ring sling and woven wraps. Both provide adequate support for baby's spine and good vertical support creating the boundaries LO's need. I like different carriers for different purposes and stages of development.
4. There is so much I love about babywearing but to keep this short I'd say my favorite aspect is how content it keeps my babies. All my girls have just wanted to be held 24/7 and babywearing makes that more possible.
3. We also have a Boba 4g carrier that we will use once she is a bit bigger.
4. Being able to have my hands free and provide comfort to C.

2. What have you been trying with your baby this week/ when you have your baby what will you be trying? We've used our ring sling at almost every outing. I also have a lender girasol woven wrap that I've been trying to get the hang of, and this morning we took a walk and I wore DS2 in the ergo with a receiving blanket rolled up under his bum.
3. What kinds of carriers have you tried and what did you like/dislike about them?
Moby - dislike length and stretchiness, and like its snugliness
Mei Tai - love the ease of the mei tai. Really no dislikes here
Ergo - so fast and easy. DS1 outgrew it pretty quickly, though
Kinderpack - by far my favorite carrier. Most comfortable ever! Dislike that they're hard to get.
Woven wraps - there's quite the learning curve
Ring sling - quick and easy, but I feel that I have to be very attentive to DS in it, like it's a little less secure than my SSCs
4. What do you like best about baby wearing?
I love that it enables me to leave the car seat in the car. I can do just about anything I need to do while holding baby, so I get constant snuggles and never really have to set baby down, but things still get done. I also love that it leaves me hands free for meeting DS1's needs while meeting DS2's needs at the same time!
Does this sound right? How do you feel about tiny babies in ergos? A friend who is a VBE told me that she doesn't recommend it because they're less supportive for baby's back. I just find the ergo fast and comfy, and it's been hit or miss with the ring sling for me. Sometimes I just can't get him in it straight or with properly froggied legs...
(on a side note does 515 in your screen name mean anything? It's an area code near me
Just started using the Moby with DS and he seems to love it. Haven't worn him too much as I am less than a week out from my c-section. Haven't gotten out the structured carrier as he is too little.
That I can feel close to him while still getting things done. Eases my overactive sense of Mom Guitl. He obviously loves it and conks out almost immediately.
We also have the Ergo (performance? sport? something like that) with the infant insert, and I'm hoping he'll get big enough to use that soon. He's still under 7 lbs.
But DD isn't even 2 weeks yet, and I don't know these folks from a can of paint...
But @Di_126 that helped a lot!! Thank you.
2. My friend lent me an ergo and a boba wrap. I've been practicing the boba wrap and like it a lot so far. It feels similar to the ktan to me, but is harder to tie off. However, I like that I can just leave it on almost like a shirt, and it doesn't stretch out as easily. I will probably wait to try the ergo when he's bigger.
3. The only other kind I've tried is the baby bjorn. It was a gift for DS1 and we both hated it. I actually returned it to BRU recently and got $150 in store credit for it.
4. I love having full use of my arms and knowing I can get him to snuggle up and sleep in the wraps.
