what are your Bed times

Re: what are your Bed times

  • Any suggestions on how to get LO to bed earlier? While I was on maternity leave she usually went to bed between 9 and 10pm, slept until 6-7am, ate, and went back down for another two or three hours. Now that I'm back at work (I work 3-11pm), DH starts the bedtime routine at 9 like we always have and she'll fall asleep for maybe an hour and wake up right before I come home. Then I spend another hour nursing her to sleep so she gets to bed after midnight which is way too late. I don't know what to do!

  • Daylight Savings set back is coming soon, so this will adjust everything back an hour. For now, at about 4 months DD goes to sleep around 9 and is up at 7. DS age 5 sleeps about 830-7. Mom and Dad sleep from about 10-6
  • That's right, I forgot about Daylight Savings. Hopefully that will get us more on track!

  • Um...to the working parents out there, they are your kids, so you get to decide what you do! Emotional connections are pretty important as well.

  • Yeah. It sucks because i work 8am-9pm with a 30 minute commute. We are working on DH having LO changed and ready for bed when I get home so I can put him right to sleep and at least get to see him... last night I was off so I tried putting him to bed at 9 and I got murderous cries. He ended up staying up later because he got himself so upset. So normally its around 10pm, wake up 3-4am to eat, and wake up at 630 (for him) to go to grandpas when I work. When I dont work, I normally nurse around 7 and then up for the day between 9 and 10. I want to move his bedtime earlier but baby wants his mama and who am I to argue with that?
