After reading the MOTN thread I think I'm the only person that doesn't expect their DH to help with the baby in the night. DH works and I don't right now so I feel like he needs his sleep at night.

At least he helps with DS and plays with him which is nice but I would like a break from baby duties during waking hours. It gets so tedious to feed, change, put to sleep and repeat. I can't wait until she's no longer a newborn.

I'm the same way @Nicb13‌ ... I stay at home with the kids and I breastfeed. DH is honestly no help in the MOTN. He always says he feels like a d*ck sleeping while I'm up with the kids but he's more than willing to let me have a nap when he gets home and make dinner, so it works for us!!

  • DD is getting her tongue tie clipped today. Hold me :(

    I survived B-)
Glad to hear it! I hope it wasn't too bad...

I replied to my text saying 'no baby'.
She answered by saying 'you must be ready to pop! I think you'll have a Halloween baby'

    1 . no shit sherlock.
    2. A Halloween baby is not even funny. Way too far away.
We are so the same person.

  • I finally got some sleep! Only awakened maybe 4 times in a 3 hour span? I'll take it!

In that time, I dreamed that @pnwlover12 had her baby and named him Hank. So imagine my confusion when I opened Randoms and see that's not true. Sorry, dude.

    LOL! That's awesome. Hank, huh?

  • DH goes back to work tomorrow and I am torn about it. On one hand, he is going stir crazy with being home all day and changing C's diapers. On the other hand, I will miss the company while he is at work and appreciate the help during the day. At least for the next week, it is just PT in the am.

We had agreed that I would take the MOTN feedings/changes while I am out on maternity leave. Once I go back to work FT, he will probably take over the 11 pm (or so) feeding so I can get to sleep early.

Baby Girl "C" arrived on 10/07/14 (39 weeks, 6 days)

  • @knittymeggy‌ - she sounds like a nightmare and he should definitely tell her the truth next time about why she is so hurtful to him and why she's not allowed around his family. At least he will have done all he can to allow her to at least contemplate changing or, at the very least, try to heal some of the hurt. If she doesn't, then he knows where everything stands and knows he's already tried his hardest.

  • I tried to be nice and let DH sleep last night because he went back to working today... But apparently I overdid it yesterday and really hurt my incision. So when I tried to get up I ended up painfully flailing around like a fish until I was in tears, and he had to get up and help me out of bed.

I was so excited to not be pregnant so rolling over wouldn't feel like an Olympic sport anymore. I was so wrong.

Oh man, hope everything is okay.

Thanks! I think they are being overly cautious but positive thoughts welcome!

  • So they decided to admit me and induce me tonight because baby's "tracing" is abnormal. Not emergency but unusual enough that they want to start the process.

  • Well I haven't caught up on randoms yet because I just got back from L&D. After getting DD on the bus this morning I felt water running down my leg and thought my water broke so I waited to see what would happen. So then later that afternoon I started having stronger contraction that wouldn't go away so I waited for DD to get home from school and the headed to the hospial. This is also after my panties being wet and having to change them throughout the day like 4 times. So get there and get checked and no my water didn't break and I only had like 3 contractions in an hour so they sent me home which I was totally okay with I just wanted to make sure my water hadn't broke. Ever since I walked out of the hospital I have had contractions after contractions, stupid uterus!! Well that's my rant so now I'm going back to page one so I can get caught up!!
  • Decided to continue working on the nursery today and put on some metal to motivate my lazy ass

Baby decided she LOVES it and starts a 1-baby mosh pit in my stomach

    C'mon labor!
Maybe all this action will get this show on the road!

    :)

  • Good luck @MrsSarahRenee‌ !!

I have been having random contractions all day. Nothing too painful, but I am hoping it helps move things along so that my induction Monday night has a better chance of being successful. Darn blood pressure issues...I really hope this LO decides to arrive before we reach that point!

  • So, I have a stupid whiny question.

I am facing an induction Monday night because of the high blood pressure I have had on and off during this pregnancy. LO could arrive on her own before then...but I honestly doubt it.

Assuming I have an uncomplicated vaginal delivery, we would be discharged from the hospital Thursday. My Inlaws are visiting us, and staying with us, late Thursday night through Sunday at noon. I am fine with that - they are good people and I want them to have time with their granddaughter.

My issue is when to do our newborn photos. I honestly do not want to schedule them when my Inlaws are here. During our wedding, FIL kept jumping in our bridal party photos. It really pissed me off. Would Sunday afternoon or Monday still be in our squishy newborn window?

  • @Nicb13‌ I don't expect DH to help at night unless there is an emergency situation (I really had to go to the bathroom one night while she was I her marathon feed so had to wake him up). He works really long hours and needs his sleep. Plus I'm not sure what he can do to help as he doesn't have boobs ;)

    @angeltennis3

our photographer recommended within the first 10 days, and so ours are scheduled for tomorrow, when LO will be 8 days.  Perhaps try reaching out to your photographer for their recommendation?

...how is it that my mom can calm LO down and I can't. All I could do was cry.

  • DD is getting her tongue tie clipped today. Hold me :(

Chloe had hers cut the day after she was born. The first 48 hours were the worst but then everything was fine after. I hope it goes well for you guys!
What were the 48hrs after like?
My DS also had his tongue tie clipped at 3 days old, so that was 8 days ago. And yes, the first 48 hours after were full of fussiness, crying, seeming to not latch well....

I actually was thinking, "my gosh what have I done! I should've never had it clipped! "

Then after a couple days, everything has been all good. I saw the lactation consultant yesterday and she said that getting the tongue tie clipped is so important but that the babies do have a hard time latching and getting milk for a few days after because it's like they are learning to use their tongue all over again.

I think that's why we have had a little issue with weight gain because those few days set us back. But he seems to be on the right path now. Going for another weight check and milk transfer check with the lactation consult tomorrow and then 2 week pedi appt Friday so we will see!
