My sister leaves today, and I'm sad. Last night she wanted to check on him before we went to bed, and I was overcome with emotion. I'm probably going to cry when she leaves in 20 mins.

Aw, @shellbell3845, it's tough to say goodbye to family sometimes. I'm glad you had such a great time with your sister and that you were able to see her bonding with DS. How sweet!

@iwubrory, just caught up on yesterday's randoms. We use command hooks for our stockings, too. I just splurged on the fancy command hooks

They come in nickel (which is what we have) and oil rubbed bronze (which I know like better than ours!) Either way, they look pretty nice by themselves (rather than the plain white ones). I just keep them packed up with the Christmas stockings so that I don't lose them.

Can someone explain iCloud to me? If I delete my pictures from my phone, the ones that are in the "photo stream" are still in the cloud and I'll be able to see them on my phone still? My phone is full.

I am going to DS1's school this afternoon to talk to them about career day. Is it silly that I am nervous to talk to them? I have no problem giving a presentation at work to senior VP's but the thought of 50 first graders staring at me is frightening!

@TessyMessy‌ I have the exact opposite problem as you. I can talk to kids all day every day but put just one adult in with a group of kids and I turn into a bumbling idiot. I'm sure you'll do a fantastic job.

I just went upstairs and showed DH @ramfan05 's fancy command hooks and gave him a big hug. He took a step back, shook his head, and said it was funny how upset I was for the past day about my stocking problem. I was all, "What are you talking about?" His response, "Baby, you just came up here with the biggest smile on your face, proclaiming 'Bump to the rescue!'"

Oh.

Well my stocking problem was a big problem!!

@shellbell3845 Its so hard for family to live far enough away that you do not get to see them often. Sounds like it was a great visit!

The rental company gave us a van (car was totaled when tree fell on it). They were out of regular cars, so van it is. Guys...I really like it.

LO woke up at 6 today and was super chatty and happy. I brought him into the living room, and he did speed laps around the room. Only stopping to play with some of his big brother's toys for a second, then he was off again. Babies are crazy.

I've had two cranberry orange scones this morning. They are sooooo good. I'm counting it as a win because I forgot to eat breakfast in the hustle of trying to get everyone out the door to work, airport, and daycare. It's also book fair day, and I made them set up the credit card machine special just for me because I needed to buy books for LO!

I need to come up with or find a door decoration for my classroom for Red Ribbon Week. The theme is Love Yourself. Be Drug Free. The doors are supposed to match the theme and so far Pinterest isn't helping me. Though my Pinterest skills are pretty poor.

you're 4th grade?

Have the kids trace their hands on red paper. Cut them out, make a heart with everyone's hand prints. Come up with a cute tag line... I'm drawing a blank at the moment.

ETA you could also have them write what they love about themselves on their hand prints

@BlueDot818‌ DD will definitely be getting all sorts of toys. She got her first baby doll the other day, but I also have a farm set and tractors on her Christmas/Birthday list. She 'plays' with stuffed footballs, and I typically opt for the 'boy' versions of things because I don't want her to have everything pink and purple.

@Penguin173‌ I wouldn't spend $40 on pajamas. But that's me. I just got her pajamas at BRU Saturday (in the boy section!) and spent around $10, which I thought was a lot. The majority of DD's clothes I get at yard sales or consignment shops, so $10 for one thing was a lot!

If you are really wanting something monogrammed, maybe look at getting something plain and paying someone to monogram it? May end up being cheaper!

yeah there isnt an OUAC around me either. we have a kids consignment shop but it grosses me out. they dont take very good care of the items and take pretty much anything. and when you wlak into the store its a clusterfunk of toys that are dirty and just bothers me. ive gone in there several times hoping the next time would be better and it never was.

i really want to find a nice place with decent quality second hand baby items!

Hey dudes.

So, for all my negative nancy-ing...things continue to just unfold in weirdly perfect ways. Long story short, we got a call from our #2 daycare choice this morning saying they have a spot opening up on November 10th. We were told the wait was a YEAR, so this is fabulous news!

I do have some sticker shock going on though...we were paying $135 a month in Georgia. Here it's $255! They do a sliding scale once she's in the 1 year old room, but the infant rate is a fixed one.

Now just to find a job.

Sigh. DH called to check on LO at DC. He reports to me that LO ate all his yogurt and squash. Except I didn't send squash today. DH had put it in the DC fridge weeks ago (unopened) as a back up one day? And they used it today? So LO had twice as much food as he should have had. He probably won't want his whole bottle, so the BM will be wasted. Or he'll comfort eat the whole bottle and not want to eat at all when he gets home. I already worry that he eats too much at DC, and now I'm irritated at DH for putting food where the DCP thinks it's to be fed today. It's a waste all around, LO is now off his feeding schedule, and LO has had too much to eat.

I had a few and remember being mad and feeling ripped off because one of them had only 2 babies and the other had I think 4 lol
Or maybe it was 3 and 5 either way I wanted "all the babies!"

TERRIBLY. It was one of her worst nights yet, honestly. And I moved into a guest room but could still hear her through the closed door! She was whining/talking/crying on and off all night long.

She did sleep till 7, so that was nice. Hopefully tonight will go better.
