I can't knit or crochet because of the joint pain but I am seriously considering suck it up so I can make this.
I gave away 3 55-gallon bags of yarn when I turned the craft room into a nursery, so I would have to go buy yarn, unless the 100 or so skeins I kept happen to be the right color, but it's mostly sock yarn, so I am doubtful.
My nursery is a work in progress. I'm going with a Neverland theme. The two paintings are ones that I've done, the first one being princess Tiger Lily, and the second a quote I painted from the J.M.Barrie's Peter Pan. Above the crib is mermaid lagoon. I have the fishing net with frames hanging from it, starfish and pearls strung along the top. Painted the frames/letter myself all from Michael's arts and craft store. Also the mermaid decal (kinda hard to see in the picture) off to the side I got on Amazon. For the Indian camp/Tiger Lily wall there are those tents with tee pees feather decals on top. I still have to make/paint version of Big Ben on the wall where Peter, Wendy, and her brothers are flying. Also finish up pixie hollow around the closet area. I'll be happy once I get everything to my liking...... like I said work in progress but I'm enjoying craft time on my "Down time"
Wow you guys rock. I am so bad at art and crafty things. My favorite gifts so far have been the ones people knitted for me/made at home, there's just something so special about it.
I have a NBR question for all you crafty moms. I'm making DD's Halloween costume, she's going to be a lion, and need to sew some faux fur. Do any of you ladies have experience working with this material? I'm worried about it being to thick for my sewing machine, and possibly breaking the needle? Should I just hand sew it?
Love seeing what all you ladies are doing. MIL is the crafty one making the bedding. I started taking knitting classes just so I could make a blanket. I'll post when done...if it's not too horrible!

No idea. Do you have a joann fabrics near you? The ladies who cut fabric are the best at pointing you in the right direction for such things! They have given me great tips and directed me on how to do things!
Well, I am jealous of all you ladies who are sewing and knitting these adorable things. I am at the scissors and glue level. . I just finished up my mobile, which is really too large, but still cute.
Finally finished home made curtains for the nursery! This is the first sewing machine project I've tackled since I was in middle school...pretty proud how the turned out.
We did a neutral nautical theme and now it's finally all coming together and I love it!
I made a lot of stuff for the nursery (curtains, pillows, table skirt) with DD1, but there is no time to do anything for this one. Not to mention, the nursery is currently my office and he'll be sleeping in our room until around the time I go back to maternity leave, so we'll deal with room rearranging then. I'm not even buying a crib until he's at least 2 months old.
That being said, DD1 wants me to teach her how to knit, so I'll probably be doing that while on mat leave. DD2 is interested in sewing, so that'll probably happen then as well. Right now, I broke out DD2's stocking kit yesterday and actually got some work done on it. Poor kid is 6, and every year she gets a basted together stocking with the front about half finished.
Here's DD2's stocking:
Here's the one I got for Baby Q:
All of our stockings are snowmen with blue backgrounds, so I'm excited to have a full set of them.
So you HAVE to tell where you got the train stocking. Adorable.
I started a quilt, because i couldn't find anything i was just in love with. The top is all pieced together. But I haven't had access to my sewing and quilting machines, due to my parents basically living with us and taking over that room. Finally got them out, but there is no possible way I can crawl around on the floor to baste it now. So I will have to finish once baby is here.
I have a Dr Seuss themed nursery, I thought about buying 1 or 2 books and cutting the pages out to put in frames. Has anyone done this or have ideas in place of this?

I'm late to the crafty mama party... But since I moved when I was 35 weeks, I got a late start on decorating our nursery! So here is what I've been working on the last couple of weeks!
Painted letters
Here is one up close so you can actually see the colors
Can't take credit for the building of these...but I gave my uncle pics that I saw and asked how I could build, he ended up just doing it. He is the best - im obsessed and so excited.
So we recently purchased a Cricut machine. My hubby got it for my friends to make my decorations for the baby shower. Now I plan to use it for scrap booking. Yesterday however I made cut out snowflakes for a gift wrapping project. I LOVE to gift wrap! I think its gone beyond a hobby.
Anyway that's all I really do for crafts, trying to see how I can show a picture, if i'm successful I'll add it later
