Oh he is so cute @scoutfinch13! I keep telling DH that when I'm ready to retire (really wish that wasn't soooo far away) I want to open an animal rescue because if I could I would adopt all things furry!
The top one is my sweetie Edgar (boxer-mix) and below is my H's baby Lenore; technically I brought her home but she has no qualms showing favoritism .... brat 8-| And yes I am an Edgar Allen Poe fan, H says I'm not allowed to name anymore animals

@souptin I used to volunteer at a companion rabbit society when I lived in MN. Bunnies make great pets and if they are properly trained are awesome with kids! Just saying.
Also they are so soft.
I showed rabbits while growing up and through High School. The ones that weren't "quality" enough for showing, we sold as pets. They do make great pets. Look into the smaller breeds - Mini-Rex are super adorable and don't get over 5lbs (at least they aren't supposed to). Their fur is soft like velet.
@souptin You had flemish Giants?? TWO of them??!
I'm so jealous. Hubs has put the kibosh on a bunny because we already have the cat & (growing) dog and with the baby on the way... Our house is only 720 square feet.
Edit because tag fail?
My dad had a farm and he converted one of the barns into a bunny home. they were all in huge suspended cages with all kinds of fun play stuff and because they were suspended cleaning up after them was easy. It was magical as a child to have an entire space filled with soft fluffy pets that just want to climb all over a 5 year old with a loaf of bread
I had no idea how good I had it as a kid!
Hmm... We do have a lot of land. I bet I could build a bunny shed...
Do it! Then incite us all for bunny snuggles!
-------------
Okay a) would it need to be heated? ...I'm going with probably yes. Ok.
And b) duh you're all invited!
My needs are simple. I just want a bunny big enough to ride on.
Yes Heated.
I'll bring carrots!
If it isn't enclosed you can always just hang heating lamps for them so they can just get under them when needed (also have fans for summer when it is a million degress here in Texas) Our rabbit barn is open on the ends and the cages are suspended in the air (so yes, cleaning up from under them is super easy) plus it is good fertilizer if you have a garden, or just want to put in your flower beds!
^ I say "our" but it's is kind of my moms thing now. My sister and I are done raising and showing rabbits, but my mom still has some and she sells them to the FFA students.
Here are my loves. The older/grey one is Buckles. He's 13 1/2 and my little snuggle bug. The other squishy face is Viktor. We got him from a rescue league 2 summers ago and think he's about 2 or 3.
Here are my fur babies! The little one is a black lab german shepard mix and her name is Marley. The big furry goofball is our labradoodle named Shadow. She's so sweet, but so dumb and it's hilarious.

Trying to figure out how to post this picture. Sorry for the above post, it ended up posting a link to my facebook page, ( sorry don't know you guys well enough for that just yet) instead of the picture. Now I'm trying to save the picture on my nook and upload it here but its not working so far. Arggghh I'm so technologically impaired.

Maddie the mustache cat, in full blown cuddle mode.
Edit for spacing. And although I finally figured out how to post pictures I don't know why they are so small. *sigh* I give up.
