Fun date ideas?

So my mum is taking my DD for te day on Sunday, and DH and I both have the day off together. We were originally going to do a reveal cake just for us, but now I decided to just find out the day of the ultrasound (Thursday). Anyway, since we have the day together, I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas for date days? We don't get much time together, so wanted to do something special. What's your ideal date?

My DH and I love to cook, so we plan a luxurious menu we wouldnt be able to afford in a restaurant, start the day by going to the grocery for the items we need, then spend the day cooking dinner. Usually we snack on crackers and cheese, with liberal wine drinking. Not so much with the wine now, but it's still fun.

We went for a date night on Saturday for my hs birthday. We went to a dinner theatre it was a great night. You get an amazing dinner and a show. They are interactive shows. I don't know if you have something like that around you.

I really like that idea, as my DH and I are both good cooks, however, I also cook for a living, making me kind of lazy by the end of the week. Lol once I'm on leave, this will be great! My DH and I always have a lot of fun cooking together

I would plan on dinner somewhere nice and then going out to a movie. We have not had a date night just us 2 in so long. I have been wanting to just go to dinner and out to a movie. We have at home date nights after putting our LO to bed. We will get a movie or netflix and cuddle on our couch before I pass out.

If it was morning, I would get coffee and go walk around the lake downtown.

If it was an entire evening and we wanted to spend more money, I would look for some comedy shows in our area. We love stand up comedy so that is something we do when people come to town that we like.

So depending on when DD would be dropped off, I'd say go out to a yummy breakfast/lunch together. Or pack a picnic and head out to a spot that you both love. Here are some ideas:

Sign up for a fun class that would interest you both like dancing or beer making
Go to a casino
Spend the day at an arcade playing games,
Go bowling
Go for a hike and take a ton of couple selfies
Carnival/festival
Movies/drive-in
Start a new home project
Go for a drive

Have fun!

I know. I'm really excited to have a whole day to ourselves! We're definitely starting with breakfast (at the spot we had our first date). I really like the arcade idea, but we'd have to go to a different city (could happen depending on when My mum wants to bring DD home). Either way, it just nice to have some time together without worrying about scheduling around a toddler. Lol

We would go for a walk somewhere beautiful; in WI the leaves are amazing colors right now. Then we'd probably find a little cafe for lunch; some place we've never tried. The afternoon we'd maybe see a movie or relax at home together, play a board game or snuggle on the couch and just enjoy each other's company. Then we'd either cook something wonderful for dinner, or go to one of our favorite restaurants. Honestly, it would be about just taking advantage of some uninterrupted time together, which we rarely get.

We would probably go out for breakfast and then take a walk. After digesting we would go home and enjoy each other in a carnal fashion. Then maybe a movie and dinner. This is largely what our Saturdays look like now, and I will miss it once we have a third little member of our family.

If I were you I would google date ideas in your area. For example we live close to NYC so my favorite thing to do with my SO, after going to dinner or something, is taking a ride to edge water. It's a town thats directly across the Hudson from NYC, so you get the beautiful skyline. We grab some coffee and walk along the water, and then grab a bench and just enjoy each others company. Or on Sunday's we'll take a ride to the Delaware water gap, or some kind of cliffs, or outdoor outlet shopping centers. We also love food so we always include going out to eat as part of our dates. We can go to movies and bowling anytime, and when it gets so cold and snowy we usually resort to those two indoor activities. But since it's not too cold yet we try to do things outdoors. In conclusion (lol) google ideas like this in your area!!! You can always incorporate something like this into a traditional movies/dinner date, especially if you have the whole day.

I might opt for a couples massage & lunch. Or pack a picnic and take a low impact hike together if the weather allows for it.

Well I was going to suggest a cooking class since those are the best dates my DH and I have ever been on, but since you do that for a living... I don't know. Perhaps try a new place you haven't been to before ? I know when we are stumped for new ideas, we open up trip advisor and look for the top rated restaurants in our city or surrounding community.

If you're trying to have fun on the cheap, you can always have fun with things like Groupons and memberships. Godiva gives their members a free piece of chocolate once a month when you stop in store, on top of crazy awesome coupons. Groupons usually has deals on massages in our area, so I imagine it's similar elsewhere.

Otherwise, being a fellow fan of food, I always enjoy going to a different establishment for each course. It does take a bit of time, but allows for some awesome reconnecting/conversations. Who doesn't like to get dressed up to spill something in their boobs in a nice restaurant?

Try pintrest! They have a lot of great dates that are either free or very inexpensive and really fun! That's where I usually go for new ideas

one that I love was to sit in front of the fire place (if u have one) wrapped in a big blanket and toast marshmallows. I love smores so this is my favorite! When we don't have our son we like to either rent red box movies and cuddle or go out to random stores together and be silly. For some reason we get a kick out of going to petco to check out all of the interesting animals.
