Baby Names

Rosario?

What are your thoughts on this name? Just kind of digging it tonight.

Re: Rosario?

  • I like it. I think it is a fresh take on the "Rose" names, although, after looking it up I see that it actually means "rosary." It does make me think of actress Rosario Dawson, but that is not a negative association. I like it better for a girl than a boy.

  • For a girl or boy? I like it better for a boy and I love non traditional names :)

  • NMS, but not a bad name at all.  If you are not Catholic or if you don't have any religious affiliation with the rosary, it might be a little odd, IMO.
  • It's not bad.
  • It ends in an o which makes it masculine in Italian so i think man. in Spanish i believe it is both male and female.

  • Same as PPs - I was really looking for "rose"-related names, and just didn't love the meaning. I also thought it felt masculine with the "o" ending. I preferred Rosalia to Rosario, but still didn't love the meaning (something about a holiday).
