We got both of these items at my shower. One is collapsable and the other not so much. Will I NEED both of them or is there one of them that you would recommend over the other? Thank you in advance for your help.
I have one of each type. The whale will stand alone on a counter or in your tub, while the collapsible seat sits in the sink nicely. I used the whale type when DD was newborn and as she got bigger, we moved to the sink with the chair
We used the collapsable infant bather with DS and will with this one as well. We choose it because, at the time, our house was small and we didn't have the space to store the bigger toddler tub. Now that we have the room for a larger tub, I can see the appeal. We would be able to bathe the child without filling the bathtub once he/she out grows the sink. However, the transition time is so short that I still don't think it's worth having both.
Actually, our 16 month old still uses the infant bather. We use it while washing his hair to keep him leaning back and in one place. Then we let him play in the bathtub.
I can't get the target link to work on my phone for some reason, but we only used a collapsible bather with dd and will with DS too. We don't have room to store a tub, so it was perfect for us. I can kind of see the benefit of a tub you can sit on the counter when they are little to avoid leaning over so far, but we had no issues bathing dd in the tub from the get go.
I recommend the Summer Infant Deluxe Baby Bather (your 2nd link). I had that one with DS and it worked perfect. I picked up the pink one at Target for this little girl.
I liked the whale type one with dd but mine had a mesh net for newborn use. I loved it I left my collapsible one at grandmas we spent most days on the weekends there. I think it depends if your a sink bather. If so collapsible is best.
The collapsible one is what I used six years ago with my son and the one I bought this time, too! It's been around a while which says good things about it!
We have the whale one. DD used it for a long time, >1yr. She was scared to sit in the big tub, she was more comfortable in a confined space. We still use the little whale cup to rinse her hair.
We got one like the Target one at a shower. We used it in the regular tub until he was sitting well on his own. It was nice to have something that easily stored out of the way if we were having guests, since the kiddo bathroom is also the guest bathroom at our house.
D14 November Siggy Challenge - How I Feel 3rd Tri:
We got the 4moms tub for this LO, I hated the one we had for DS so I threw it away. This one we got looks more convenient. I don't think you need both but they do both have different appeals to them. We've preferred the more tub-like ones but I could see the benefits to the summer brand one. So in conclusion, I'm not much help at all.

I had the whale tub with my older son. He liked it but make sure there is some water in it before you put the kiddo in it. He managed to tip it over while it was filling up. (Obviously, I was right there and he wasn't hurt, it just started us both).
For newborns, I prefer the super cheap sponge cushion things that BRU sells. I just lay the sponge thing in the tub and add a half inch of water so it gets warm. It is pretty easy to wash the baby and then rinse the sponge thing.
With my first we had a big bulky tub and I hated it. We switched to the collapsible seat and loved it. I used it with my second and ordered a new one for this kiddo.

This is what worked for DS when he was a newborn and it's what we'll do this time, too. Once she is sitting, we'll just bathe her in the tub with a baby seat thing that we'll get later on. Storage of a big tub isn't very appealing to me. Perhaps it's because I'm old and this is our last one and I don't want baby stuff taking up every square inch of every room in my house There's enough stuff creeping in here as it is!!

I like that it collapses and goes right into my cabinet in the bathroom for storage.

The collapsible one would serve the same purpose though. I don't think you need both.
