A) There are legal ways to help with sickness which in turn helps with appetite. I don't believe anyone will condone marijuana during pregnancy.
You're not going to get the kind of responses you want by putting no rude comments and that you don't need negative comments...that just rubs people the wrong way...sorry.
C) Why would you even conceder this kind of thing during pregnancy?
If you're having THAT much trouble dealing with morning sickness, stress, and insomnia, you need to speak with your OB/MW. Smoking anything during pregnancy is bad.
Legal or not, smoking ANYTHING during pregnancy will expose you and your baby to carbon monoxide. This can cause low birth weight, impair fetal development, increase your risk of developing clots, and many other side effects. Not worth the risk.
And for everyone who knows everything I haven't smoke since I found out. Simple question and all you know it alls do absolutely nothing for sites like this.
Well then don't Comment on this post. Pretty simple.
Anyone can comment on public forums. I'm sure there are plenty of forums for people who use marijuana. You're obviously just looking for a reason to use, and a forum full of pregnant women, many of whom are worried about the health of their baby, is not the place to post about it.
Smoking anything during pregnancy, especially if it's an illegal drug, is generally frowned upon. Nobody here was rude, they were honest and told you exactly how people would react.

Defensive much? You asked for advice, and it sounds like you didn't receive the answers you were hoping for. We're not know-it-alls, we're just using common sense. Pot during pregnancy is a no go.
Well good job at not smoking since finding out you're pregnant! =D> Yeah you asked a simple question, you got simple, honest answers of why would you contemplate smoking anything while pregnant...didn't know that was so mean.
I don't understand, you just posted an "any guesses" ultrasound pic minutes ago and you said you felt better and your symptoms were gone. Why would you even consider smoking pot and using pg symptoms as your reason for it if you aren't even having symptoms?

I'm not going to say I'm against smokinh, however I am against it while pregnant! You can say you haven't done it since BFP all you want, but honestly I don't believe you.
Most studies claiming all negative effects are conducted by doctors who tend to air (err?) on the side of caution, and most studies claiming only benefits are done by pot heads (I use the term lovingly). All the reasons you stated for smoking (anxiety, ms, insomnia) would benefit you, while all the negatives effect your baby. It seems kind of selfish.
This! Plus it seems like you're fishing for a reason to smoke since right after this post about all these symptoms, you started a guess what sex my baby is post with almost all symptoms gone...hmmm... :-?
Where the eff are all the trolls and WKs coming from??! It's getting a bit obnoxious at this point.
OP, no it's not ok to smoke anything while pregnant. You don't like honest answers and want to call people snobs, you can go fuck off back to where you came from with that shit. Be sure to get an extra bag of sweaty dicks to keep your mouth occupied while your fucking off.
I herd in most states that if you test positive for drugs when your baby is born, your child can get taken away.
Even though you may think that smoking it up won't hurt you any, think about what it could do to your child. Withdrawal babies are not very fun and many stories I hear about babies born to drug addicted mothers end up crying for hours in being in pain. Please don't put your child through that in the first part of their life. Your child depends on you to keep him or her safe.

I was just thinking the same thing!
___________
I believe OP just wants to get high and is looking for an excuse.
Troll or not. In my state, if you test positive for any drugs before or after labor, CPS will get involved...possibly for MONTHS after you deliver (if your child isn't taken away).
OP: even considering doing drugs during your pregnancy gives quite a window into what sort of judgment you are likely to exhibit as a parent. Will you also do drugs around your baby once he/she is born (since according to you it is legal where you are?) Hope you grow up soon.

While I condone the use of marijuana for certain medical purposes (cancer patients, severe epilepsy, etc) no studies have demonstrated that marijuana is safe in pregnancy. Even if THC doesn't harm the baby, which we don't know, the actual act of smoking anything most certainly DOES affect the baby. As PP said, due to carbon monoxide exposure, baby would have the same risks as with cigarettes.
The fact that you arebringing this question to us, instead of your doctor, tells me something. If its legal in your state, why not ask your doctor, if the sickness was that bad?
Probably because you already know what his/her answer would be. There are safer options to treat severe nausea, and most mild nausea in pregnancy does not need to be treated
The exception of course is HG, which you haven't indicated that you have anyway
Me-24~~ DH-25~~Married 6/15/2013~~Pregnant with our first due April 2, 2015~ Septate/ Bicornuate/Arcuate /some kind of not-normal uterus- won't know for sure which one till after babe is born~~Hoping for a full term baby!
Ps since you have decided that us telling you smoking is NOT safe means you didn't come to the right place, I imagine you are now posting your question in other forums, until someone gives you the answer you want, so you can smoke guilt-free. Obviously you didn't want the truth you just wanted someone to.make you feel better about doing it.

Okay smoking anything while pregnant is just stupid.
Does marijuana have a purpose as a medical treatment, yes it certainly does. No doctor will prescribe smoking it to alleviate your symptoms. In cases of ladies suffering from HG in a state where marijuana is legal a doctor MIGHT prescribe a tincture but, that is doubtful given the current FDA approved treatments are effective.
So here's a first hand experience on smoking pot during pregnancy for anyone who is even considerin it as an option. (My personal views of non pregnancy use of drugs and alcohol not withstanding, cause well that's not what's up for debate here) My cousin lived with me the second half of her pregnancy. I caught her smoking and questioned her about it. She told me her dr had ok'd it and I was flabbergasted. Fast forward about 8 years later, he son has had more problems than any child I have ever met. His social skills are stunted, he has a horrible case of ADHD that even medication doesn't seem to help, he's incredibly awkward and innapropriate and does not respond to direction or discipline in any reasonable way. We're talking this kid is on the way to becoming a low functioning criminal as an adult.
Solid scientific studies have proven that marijuana use in adolescents actually alters brain growth and stunts learning and affects behavior. With that information what kind of logical conclusion can we discern this use would have on a developing fetus? Nothing positive for sure.
If you wouldn't risk having a beer while pregnant then logically smoking pot would fall into the same category.
If you can't go 9 months of your life without something you might need to re-evaluate some things. Especially when it comes to being a parent. Parents willfully go without to benefit their children. Does it suck sometimes? Sure, but parenting isn't about what YOU want, you have a child depending on you to provide it with food and shelter and a safe loving environment to help it thrive and become the best person they can possibly become. And if that response makes me a snob then so be it, I'd rather be a snob than fuck up my child's life and be a shitty selfish parent.
Wow lots of controversy I am a fellow pothead myself but stopped smoking pot once I found out I was pregnant. I don't know how anyone could even enjoy the high knowing that they are pregnant and possibly damaging their baby. I would feel so guilty that I wouldn't even be able to enjoy the effects of the weed. I am Pro-Marijuana but not during pregnancy.
P.S. If it's legal in OP's state and she's in the US, then 50/50 chance that the lovely PNW is seriously representin' in the crazy posters department today. Sheesh.
Hey, you leave Oregon out of this. We haven't done anything.
Yet...measure 91 is a pretty heated one on the ballet this year!
I beleive the OP did say it was legal in her state, I beleive that Colorado and Washington are currently the only two states with legalization of recreational pot, though many others, oregon included have legal medical marijuana laws in place.
That said, I think a PP mentioned this already but cigarettes and alcohol are legal in all 50 us states and many other nations yet it's generally understood that abstaining from these during pregnancy is the safest and healthiest option, why would t marijuana be the same regardless of legality?
She's a troll who came over from BabyCenter to start things just to get chicks over here riled up so they could call everyone mean and solidify their opinions that everyone over here is mean.
I literally read one of their threads where they were all creating accounts to infiltrate The Bump and egging each other on to post about certain trigger topics... Including "Can I smoke pot while pregnant?" and "What GENDER is my baby?"
