Talk to me about estrogen levels

Hi Ladies!  I had a CD11 monitoring appt today. I have one juicy 19 mm follie ready to go, but my lining is just under 8 so they are giving me another day to "grow" and I go back for repeat monitoring tomorrow.

My concern is that the nurse called today and said my estrogen is 99.4. They don't seem concerned about that number at all. However, based on this website a mature follie over 18 should produce 200+ estrogen. I will point out there is a note that says overweight women may have lower estrogen levels. I am a bit over weight so maybe that is the reason why??

What does your RE say about estrogen levels?

    My RE likes to see my level above 150 to show activity within the ovaries. When I have more follies, my level goes up, which is to be expected. But the first U/S day, they say they like above 150.

    8/12-8/13 - TTC Naturally

    8/2013 - PCOS/anovulation diagnosis
    8/2013 - Metformin + Clomid, no reaction (Not insulin resistant, but tried Metformin to see if it would make a difference.)
    9 & 10/2013 - Femara, no reaction
    12/2013 - Referred to RE
    8-9/2014 - Follistim + Ovidril + TI= BFN
    10/2014 - Follistim + Ovidril + TI=???

    I haven't had any blood work for monitoring. I'm sorry I'm not much help. I can just offer I'm thinking about you.

    Are you on a medicated cycle? My last medicated cycle I was on Femara (Letrozole) and my estrogen was a little low, and my RE wasn't concerned because she said Femara is an anti-estrogen medication.
    Me: 37 DH: 37, married since Sept. 2013. "actively" TTC for a total of 13 months (after 7 months of TTC, took a 1 1/2 year hiatus due to work scheduling and wedding planning. Started up again after our wedding in Sept.) First evaluation by an RE November 2013

    HSG-normal
    OH-tiny polyp found, but RE assured me she doesn't think it's contributing to infertility and doesn't recommend me to remove it because it's so small.
    DH's SA-normal
    Hormones all within normal levels
    Ovarian Reserve-RE says "is great" she's not concerned about my egg quantity (which I was until I saw her and results came back good!) 

    04/2012 50mg Clomid=BFN (prescribed by OBGYN, not monitored)
    06/2012 50mg Clomid=BFN (prescribed by OBGYN, not monitored)
    11/2013 100mg Clomid, with HCG trigger=BFN (prescribed by RE, monitored with US (2 dominant follicles) and baseline bloodwork done)
    01/2014 100mg Clomid, with HCG trigger-(prescribed by RE, monitored with US-1 dominant follicle)=BFN
    06/2014 7.5mg Letrozole, HCG trigger (prescribed by RE, monitored with US-2 dominant follicles), IUI #1 on 7/3/14=BFN
    07/2014 7.5mg Letrozole, benched for IUI#2 this cycle, because I ovulated on my own before my follicular US. Progesterone suppositories=BFN Diagnosed with PCOS this month too. Testosterone levels high at 76. =( 
    08/2014 7.5mg Letrozole, HCG trigger with 19mm follicle. IUI#2 on 8/31 cancelled last minute due to family emergency. 
    09/2014 Taking a 3 month break starting this month. If not pregnant in 3 months, will start up again with medicated cycles and IUIs. Had all my labs and AFC re-evaluated this month also. RE says nothing much has changed since my eval last November, okay for me to take a little break. =)

    Yes, I am on Femara too. Good to know!

    @MARISAV77 - you nailed it. With your help, I dropped a knowledge bomb on my RE nurse at my monitoring appt this morning. I asked if my low estrogen was a concern or a result of the anti-estrogen medication, Femara?  She said I was absolutely correct. Femara will mess with your estrogen numbers so while the RE does track them, the RE considers that estrogen levels could be all over the place while on Femara.

    It is always fun to demonstrate my IF awareness with my RE office. They always look impressed. So thanks for that.

    Oh I should add my estrogen went up to 122 overnight, my dominate follie went from 19 to 22.5 and my lining grew from 7.2 to 8.3. Triggering tonight! IUI on Tuesday.

    @MyFirstRaspberry Yay for all of that!! I love dropping knowledge bombs too. Although, I can never see their faces (since I do stuff from satellite offices) they are always impressed with my comments. One nurse asked me how I knew so much and I answered the bump. It was funny trying to explain that to her, lol. FX for you!!!

    @megrae12 - I have learned SO MUCH because of TB. Seriously, I'd be reading an IF for dummies book if it wasn't for TB.

    @MyFirstRaspberry, I'm glad you were able to get the answer you needed and that you could drop a knowledge bomb on the nurse!

    GL with your IUI on Tuesday. Mine is tomorrow, so we're pretty close to cycle buddies. :)

    DX: FVL, endo, hypothyroidism, blocked left tube

    Oct. 2014: First treatment cycle: Clomid+trigger+IUI=BFN

    November 2014: Clomid+trigger+IUI again=BFP!

    BFP 11/28/14 MC discovered 1/14/15

    My estrogen levels were all over the place on femara, so I wouldn't worry about it.
