Is this ok?

Hi ladies, quick question, is it ok to eat rice pudding during pregnancy, specifically kozy shack rice pudding?  Thanks

Re: Is this ok?

  • Ummmm Google....

I'll save u 5 secs - the answer is yes.

  • No. I wouldn't.
  • Just the name rice pudding sounds disgusting, so no, I wouldn't eat it.

I really have no idea what it is though.

For real? You've never had rice pudding?
  • I think OP did this just to make me hungry.
  • Well it's not on the list of foods you shouldn't eat while pregnant so I'm assuming it's okay? I would Google it though if you're really curious.
  • I would say that as long as Kozy Shack Rice Pudding isn't the only thing you eat for your entire pregnancy you are good. I've not personally run across a single food that I feel the need to avoid during pregnancy.
  • Does it look like this? If the answer is no, I think you're good.image

  • I'm on board with the google solution, & if you question the results.. check with your obgyn/ MW

Btw, I have a love & hate relationship with rice pudding.. It looks like barf but sometimes oh so delicious
    Especially, NY's rice to riches
It's like rice pudding's spin on Pinkberry , packaged up in cute Tupperware

  • I've never had rice pudding, but the name alone makes me think of rice pureed in a blender. God no. A quick google search confirms that there is in fact rice in rice pudding. Should be fine for your baby, but I'm going to need to go be sick now.
  • I need rice pudding today.
  • I looooove rice pudding. I make it all the time but unsurprisingly here most people here in Japan are horrified by the idea. More for me!

No raisins though because fuck raisins.

No raisins. Just a little cinnamon.
  • Damn it, now I need rice pudding. Right now.

  • That looks more like congee. Blah. You need to try real Norwegian rice pudding with raspberry coulis. It is quite firm with a slight almond flavour, no goop.
  • My great aunt made the best rice pudding and I miss it :(

I may have to hunt down and try this Kozy Shack rice pudding, now!

    Also, @ewilson74 that sounds delicious.
  • The only good rice pudding is the kind my grandma makes, with lots of cream, sugar, eggs, and cinnamon-baked to perfection and then doused in more delicious cream.  YUM.

I really haven't. The name is so unappealing. What is it?

Did your dr give you a list???
Actually, I did receive a booklet of pregnancy info from my MW that included a list of foods to avoid and why (deli meat, fish high in Mercury, unpasteurized cheese, etc.)

Yes, he gave me a list of foods that you should stay away from while pregnant- deli meat, unpasturized cheese and milk, undercooked eggs or meat. I've seen these foods in a bunch of places like other pregnancy forums and in pregnancy books as well.

I've had it...I hate it. The texture is like that of a yeast infection. Just give me vanilla pudding, please.

I loved rice pudding... Until I read this post. That image will forever burn in my brain whenever I look at rice pudding now. X_X
