So here's my two cents. I really don't think anyone should comment/be judgmental on what anyone is eating. Whether it's free range chicken and raw almonds or chili cheese fries. Especially in first tri. You eat what you want. Me? I couldn't keep down the organic yogurt smoothie that I attempted for breakfast. You know what I could keep down? An eggo waffle. I'd love to be able to keep down a nice salad for dinner tonight, but I know there's no way that will happen. So dinner will probably be a box of Annie's Mac and cheese.
What I'm getting at it you can't judge. You don't know what anyone else's body can handle at the point. No two people are the same.
TL/DR: don't judge people for what they eat during their pregnancy. Just take care of yourself and be happy.
@soxgirl982 Bravo. During my pregnancy with DD, it was into the 3rd trimester before I could handle a bite of peas. A bite! Vegetables were a huge aversion for me.
First tri, for most, is about survival. Eat what you can, when you can.

I wanted to flip out on some girl in a craving thread a few days ago but I don't feel like I have my mind together enough to think of something clever. People were talking about cravings: fast food, pickles, ice cream, the usual. Then this girl goes: "eating for two means, to me, making sure you're eating all organic fruits and veggies, nuts/seeds, and some grains. nothing from a box or with preservatives or colors or chemicals and def not fast food. we need to eat nutritious foods for our little ones! (hope that wasn't too preachy, it's just so important!)"
Umm actually that was super preachy and better than thou...
I remember that and felt like it was preachy as I ate yet another bowl of Asian noodles for dinner, but I also felt like that poster has posted other things that make her seem like good people to me, so I was kinda glad she wasn't called out!
Edited for words.
@sensitivesally@kimmarie1125@ellejdubs@ac5008@mindaa sorry that i made you feel guilty about your behavior. i just get really upset when i read posts where it seems women are not taking the best care of themselves that they and their babies deserve. And, i'm trying to give helpful info, not preach. If you don't like what i'm saying feel free to tell me, it won't hurt my feelings and if it's not actually helping I won't say it.
you can use my name instead of just talking about me.
Finally, I feel that eating shit throughout pregnancy is just as bad as getting drunk and taking your baby to loud concerts (talked about above).
This pisses me off. Eating something other than all organic fruits, veggies, and nuts is not the same thing as eating shit. Not by a long shot. And no, it's not the same as engaging in activity that poses a well-documented risk of long-term damage to your child. Fetal alcohol syndrome and permanent hearing damage are not the same thing as eating regular food that you enjoy. Yes, in moderation, but there is nothing wrong with indulging yourself, either.
You do what you think is best, but judging others like this is not going to make us any less unhappy/angry/mean. No one likes judgment from a high horse.
Took the words right out of my mouth. We are all a bunch of snarky bitches up in here so why don't you do yourself a favor and take your seeds and GTFO!
I'm so pissed now I'm gonna go eat a whole packages of Oreo's
No one was being mean. I'm pretty sure everyone knows eating an apple is going to be more healthy than eating a donut, but we all know the reality is it's not always going to happen, so coming off sounding judgy about it is going to rub people the wrong way.
Plus, those dill pickle chips last night were really, really good.
@veggiemo Oh yeah I for sure agree that no one needs to get their panties in a bunch over a sip of wine or beer. Just playing a little devil's advocate. And I really love wine! I can't remember if I posted about this already, but I went to my friend's son's 2nd birthday on Saturday and didn't drink anything. My friend text messaged me afterwards that she noticed I wasn't drinking. Followed by winky faces and baby emojis. We are going to a Martini Bar and Wine & Paint night for the same friend's birthday next Thursday. I'm definitely going to be taking a few sips so that no one else starts questioning me...and I might make up an excuse to skip on the Martini bar. It will probably be torture anyways.
Another confession: I wish all the ignorant people would just show themselves out already. But realistically that isn't going to happen so this is going to be a LONG 8 months without alcohol!

It gets boring once all the crazies leave though so I'm in no rush!

Lol! I didn't think about that... Ok crazies stay around and entertain me!
Similar to @suzysurparis confession, I've been lurking at TTCAL board. Someone posted that there is a a Catfish on the July 2014 BBM board who has been outted. Lying for a whole year! I haven't read it myself, but sounds scary!!!
I read a couple of pages of it this morning while waiting for my breakfast. I do not know what the outcome was, however, I cannot believe that someone has the time and mental capacity to do such a sick thing. Like, for what reason? It scares me that there are people like that in thisa world just on the loose with no supervision.
Here's the link. It is 18+ pages, so it'll take some time to read. It turns into a shit show and there is an outcome towards the end.... Girl is total catfish. They found where she got her pictures from.
@CMDD don't worry I don't feel bad about my behavior. Sorry I didn't tag you in the original post! I don't mind that you eat 100% perfect during your pregnancy, I just didn't like that you tried to shame everyone else into thinking indulging every once in a while or when it's the only thing you can stomach that they were hurting their LOs.
So here's my two cents. I really don't think anyone should comment/be judgmental on what anyone is eating. Whether it's free range chicken and raw almonds or chili cheese fries. Edited bc I can't spell. Esp on mobile.
Clearly I had some catching up to do.
100% THIS. I normally eat healthy but I will tell you that I have had nausea multiple times from the smell of healthy foods that I typically eat/tried to force down. If my body can tolerate Annie's Mac and Cheese (which I have enjoyed a few times this week) then HELL I'm going to do it. I will take my vitamins to get the nutrients my baby/body needs and eat the food my body can handle. If/when salads become my lunch choice again then I will enjoy them but as of now I just can't.

Thirding this, even though most of us are obviously on the same page.
Typically I'm a very healthy eater, but right now I'm going to eat whatever calories I can put and keep in my body. I could force myself to eat an organic kale salad right now, but I would most likely puke involuntarily afterwards. Hopefully I can incorporate some color into my diet during 2nd and 3rd tri.
I guess my FFFC is that most vegans (especially the ones who need to tell everyone they're vegan) annoy me. I love animals too, but please don't act like you're better than me because I'm eating a delicious cheeseburger and you're eating a sprout sandwich.

my confession- i don't understand why so many women are so unhappy/angry/mean on this site? is it the anonymous aspect of online 'conversations' that makes it feel okay?
Wait, wait, wait. I was nice to you! I said I was glad you didn't get flamed, even though I read your post whilst eating a bowl of carbs! FWIW, I didn't use your name or tag you because I couldn't remember your name, andplusalso I think you changed your profile pic as well.
I may be wrong here, but I think the comment @CMDD made about healthy eating was unrelated to her FFFC. She was the one who made the "gratitude" thread yesterday. I think maybe her FFFC was more to do with the general bitching and hormones that happens when a bunch of pregnant ladies get together on a forum such as the bump, not the response to her food comments.
Ps. I ate hamburger helper for dinner tonight because I'm tired and my 1 1/2 year old didn't nap this afternoon. But I also ate a big ole' pile of spinach with it, so there's that.
I made an awesome chicken pot-pie tonight, overflowing with veggies from our farmer's market, and the crust was perfectly golden brown.
What am I currently eating for supper? Chips and queso. I could barely stomach to get the pie in the oven and had to have dh take it out. Queso however is sitting perfectly fine. Go figure.
I just ate an entire box (GASP! Processed foods!!!) of Mac & Cheese for dinner. It was the only thing that didn't instantly turn my stomach. I really don't care if you judge me. I need to keep food down, that's what's important. Aligning my non-organic, GMO filled diet with drinking during pregnancy is asinine.

That is exactly what I'm having for dinner. I gagged at the smell of carrots and broccoli for DS's dinner and not even going to try DH's chicken after I saw it raw. Blech. Salty nachos > nothing.
How are you guys even able to cook for your family, specifically any older kids. DH can fend for himself - he's a grown adult, but cooking food for DD and smelling it? Bleh. Not only do I not have the energy for it, I feel miserable anywhere except for my couch and the smell and even looking at the food churns my stomach.
We are here to support and help each other... we are all already dealing with psychotic emotions, preg symptoms etc, so why add to it by being bitches?! I literally screamed at my husband last night for something that didn't even make sense and the last thing I want it to have my "support ladies" fighting over who's eating what and who said what bitchy thing to another! Stand together ladies!

It's going to be a long nine months.
Sometimes you put something out there and people agree with you. Sometimes you say something offensive and people brush it off. Sometimes you say something offensive and people find it offensive enough to say something back to you. This is not going to be nine months of everyone blowing smoke up each others butts all day.
@junch817 I just gag and bear it :-) with my pregnancy with DD, I left DH to fend for himself all the time. I can't really do that with DD because they'll end up eating pasta or snacks for dinner every night!

Hey guys. I am late to the party because I had a marathon day at work yesterday. I am really pissed I missed this thread because all the awesome came out here!! I shall compartmentalize:
1. I was raised vegetarian. I love healthy food and herbal remedies. I also love brownies and carbs. I hate people who are holier than thou about what you should eat. It's my biggest pet peeve and makes me ragey. Let's go out for hamburgers. You enjoy and I'll have fries and we'll wash it down with a giant chocolate milkshake. I give no fucks.
2. Open season starting Monday on repeat threads. I just can't take it anymore.
3. I have no symptoms other than tired and a little cranky. Don't hate. You're just jelli.
I'm mobile so I have no good gifs.

Don't have much choice. Young kids plus dh working late means I need to cook.
Props to you cooking moms. I am a shitty cook to start with, so adding in nausea makes me even worse. Plus DH is even worse than me. Meals have always been a huge struggle for us.
