FFFC: Last Thursday when I took HPT, I poured a glass of wine (okay, a LARGE glass) and drank it during the 5 minute waiting period. I figured, Hey, it could be my last glass for awhile. I truly thought I was out that cycle, so wasn't too concerned.

Once I saw the positive result, I immediately felt guilty about it. But there have been moments this past week that I think "damn, I should've poured just a little more..."

    I miss wine.
I was on a camping trip with friends during my two-week-wait and I definitely indulged more than I should have. It was our first cycle attempt so I thought there was no way. Oops.

Confession: My husband is a beer snob and drinks all different kids of craft beers, several times a week. I always have a sip once he pours a fresh glass. And if this is a true FFFC, sometimes it's 2 or 3 sips. Honestly, when I see the posts about people freaking out over upcoming wine tastings, I roll my eyes. Pounding shots? Not a good plan. Wine tasting? I think you're gonna be just fine.
I'm totally camp 'Drink til it's Pink'. I personally believe a couple of sips is fine and I definitely think someone can survive a wine tasting outing as DD without drinking a bunch or letting on that they are pregnant. But for arguments sake, I live in a city with a lot of wineries so we do wine tasting days for birthdays and special occasions a lot. Wine tasting for us = getting trashed. I don't pound shots ever, but I can down a hell of a lot of wine and for sure my good friends notice if I'm not drinking.

  • So this may get me flamed because I don't know the whole situation but here goes:

Went to ZBB last night and we had lawn seats. This couple had a 3 or 4 month old baby with them and she had no ear protection first off since they were right next to us and it was light out still. Than the mom, who already had a couple drinks, was rocking the baby to sleep in her carseat and was rocking the car seat so hard I was thinking it might actually flip. They both than proceeded to drink the night away and get completely trashed, like falling over and hanging on each other. The car seat with the baby? Off to the side and I think they only checked on her once. I didn't want to judge but if you have a baby at a concert, one parent needs to stay sober in my opinion and maybe some ear protection?

This is certainly flamefull but not for you. First of all the baby should have had ear protection and there should have been at least one responsible adult in that situation. This is where I say: Some dumbasses clearly shouldn't have children!!

I just ugly cried while watching House Hunters. HOUSE HUNTERS, FFS. A woman and her husband were expecting twins and they waited to reveal the sex of the babies until they moved into their new home. They did a balloon reveal and I burst in to tears. I actually don't like "gender" reveals at all, so I have no idea why I shed ugly, joyful tears. I am embarrassed.
I cried while watching Full House re-runs the other night. I'm a pretty big cry baby normally, but looking back, it seems pretty ridiculous.

I wanted to flip out on some girl in a craving thread a few days ago but I don't feel like I have my mind together enough to think of something clever. People were talking about cravings: fast food, pickles, ice cream, the usual. Then this girl goes: "eating for two means, to me, making sure you're eating all organic fruits and veggies, nuts/seeds, and some grains. nothing from a box or with preservatives or colors or chemicals and def not fast food. we need to eat nutritious foods for our little ones! (hope that wasn't too preachy, it's just so important!)"

Umm actually that was super preachy and better than thou...

This literally made me EL OH EL! Reminds me of my last pregnancy when my midwife kept on asking if I was eating healthy.... Needless to say I lied :D

Point taken. There can definitely be exceptions.
But didn't someone also post they were worried about sipping the wine on Sukkot? I guess that coupled with the few wine tasting posts just had me scoff a little bit. Either that, or I'm feeling guilty for being so lax about it myself ;)

Similar to @suzysurparis confession, I've been lurking at TTCAL board. Someone posted that there is a a Catfish on the July 2014 BBM board who has been outted. Lying for a whole year! I haven't read it myself, but sounds scary!!!

I read a couple of pages of it this morning while waiting for my breakfast. I do not know what the outcome was, however, I cannot believe that someone has the time and mental capacity to do such a sick thing. Like, for what reason? It scares me that there are people like that in thisa world just on the loose with no supervision.
Here's the link. It is 18+ pages, so it'll take some time to read. It turns into a shit show and there is an outcome towards the end.... Girl is total catfish. They found where she got her pictures from.

And this is the reason I probably won't be joining a Facebook group, no matter how cool you bitches are. :)
I have been pouring over this. WOW.  draaaaammmaaaa!   There have already been a couple women in here that I have been side eyeing, I just cant fathom the entertainment in faking a pregnancy...

OMG, I totally wanted to comment on that too!  But figured at least she acknowledged that she was toeing the line.
I laughed, because in another post she was raving about a certain vegan blogger. Well, I read said blogger's posts on her pregnancy, where said blogger admitted to chowing down an entire BAG of chips in one sitting during the first tri (the hero has fallen).

  • My confession, I keep lurking on TTGP because this board has no snark or organization yet. As the hormones build and I become more authoritative and less patient, I might become that person who tries to organize the board by telling ladies who make repeat posts that they're question has already been answered and link to the prior thread.
As one of those ladies who keeps messing up and asking questions that have been answered and making double boards, I say do it :) some of us have super pregnancy brain right now and need that!

My son woke up with croup in the middle of the night last night. When I went in his room as soon as I heard that cough, the smell of his middle-of-the-night breath hit me like a ton of bricks and sent a HUGE wave of nausea over me. I yelled for my husband and ran to the bathroom, and next thing I know, I'm laying on the floor in a cold sweat...absolutely drenched. And then we spent the rest of the night in the ER.

I'm giving today the middle finger.
Oh No! The ER for you or your son? Are you okay?
  • I hate the fucking word snarky. It just gets under my skin. I prefer the classic version, bitchy.
Anyone can act bitchy.  Snark is a form of art that requires actual wit.  And a sense of humor.
I also tend to think of "bitch" as a word used with the intention to degrade women. But, your mileage may vary.

These are the threads I get all mom of almost four preachy and say good luck sister. If you can somehow manage to pull that off when you have a house full of kids running around, kudos to you. As it stands, I had cool whip with a spoon in it for lunch and I still have pancake syrup in my hair from this morning. Im in survival mode until after first tri and Id be this girls worst nightmare.

I am aware of the "snark" everyone speaks of and the witty undertone associated with it. I don't like the word. It annoys me. It's overplayed like a bad pop song.

I remember that and felt like it was preachy as I ate yet another bowl of Asian noodles for dinner, but I also felt like that poster has posted other things that make her seem like good people to me, so I was kinda glad she wasn't called out! Edited for words.
@sensitivesally @kimmarie1125 @ellejdubs @ac5008 @mindaa sorry that i made you feel guilty about your behavior. i just get really upset when i read posts where it seems women are not taking the best care of themselves that they and their babies deserve. And, i'm trying to give helpful info, not preach. If you don't like what i'm saying feel free to tell me, it won't hurt my feelings and if it's not actually helping I won't say it.

you can use my name instead of just talking about me.

Finally, I feel that eating shit throughout pregnancy is just as bad as getting drunk and taking your baby to loud concerts (talked about above).
