I was just wondering what the fears (irrational or not) of our April ladies??

Re: What's your fear Friday??

  • I'll be first in saying this was brought on by a large spider in my bathroom...I'm terrified and pretty sure our neighbors think we kill people since I scream at the top of my lungs when I see one...it's dead and I'm waiting for DH to come home and pick it up...also I only used a 1/4 of a bottle of Lysol to kill it...cause www the crunchy sound they make if you squish them!
  • Loading the player...
  • Heights. I get dizzy on anything higher than a step-ladder.
    Due with #5 April 22, 2015. It's a girl!!!!!

Yes it was planned, yes we know what causes that, no we are not on public assistance, and yes we will be getting cable after this. ;)

  • I had a wierd dream there was a lion in our garden last night. This morning i had my DH go out and check the garden. He is thinking this pregnancy is slightly turning me crazy.

    I dislike open unsecured heights.

    a lot

ladders and I do not play well

Same here, I come close to passing out thinking of heights
  • I hate all bugs but definitely spiders.

I have dentist fears. I hate the dentist. I hate teeth. I can't look at loose teeth or pictures of kids who have lost teeth. Literally makes me sick. I hadn't been to the dentist in about 4 years and had to have some cavities taken care of. I cried. Basically the whole time. Felt like such a child.
  • Definitely public speaking, I had to do a speech at my bfs wedding and I nearly passed out :(

I hate clowns. This season of AHS is going to be rough for me.

I also get this weird fear when I'm inside at night and its so well lit in the room I'm in that the window to the outside looks pitch black. Same thing if I'm looking in a mirror and can see a pitch dark hallway or doorway behind me. Gives me The Fear.

I have the dark fear as well...gah I'm a scared cat! If its dark in my house I turn the light on in every room until I get where I'm going.
  • spiders! Especially in the dark during one of my several midnight bathroom trips. That's not very irrational. One could totally crawl over my foot in the dark!!!
  • I have two, one rational and the other irrational. My rational fear is of spiders, I got bit twice by a poisonous spider. My irrational one is unfinished basements.

  • Feet. Gross. I do not want them touching me ever. They will melt me.

I don't have any fear of walking into dark rooms or hallways though! It's a fear that's only triggered by surfaced showing me darkness. So windows and mirrors. Very very weird.
Mine came after I had a cat that wouldn't go into the dark...I always thought if she can see and won't go what's in there...I also won't go outside in the dark bc we used to live like a mile from where Elizabeth Smart was kidnapped years go...

see the odd thing is it is specific to unsecured heights for me. In May I did "the Edgewalk" with H for his 30th birthday which should have been terrifying...but it was SECURE so I was totally fine...3 steps on a ladder and I am in a cold sweat.

This is the edgewalk (I assume most of you guys have not heard of it) you go around the perimeter of the CN tower:

Wow how awesome are you! I would've had a panic attack on the way up. DH love to go repelling and jump off tall things...I take pictures on the ground haha
  • Heights.  Big time.  This is no lie, I was watching the Hangover 3 with DH in bed a while back.  There is a scene where one of the guys is trying to jump from the roof of Caesar's Palace onto a balcony below.  My hands were dripping in sweat watching it. DH thinks I'm a whackadoo.  I have such a paralyzing fear of heights that even seeing it in movies makes me freak out.

  • Fear of flying. Actually the flying part is fine, I just fear crashing in an airplane.

  • I get dizzy when exiting an elevator and on an escalator but it's not scary.

I fear that my children will not grow up to be productive members of society. Which is a nice way of saying that I worry that my influence will be overrun by media. I dated some pretty entitled, lazy, cocky guys... And I'm going to do everything to make sure my kids know what hard work is and that it pays off!

Right now I'm afraid of the ants that have ventured into my pool. They bite and they don't drown quickly.

Hidden for the sake of your eyes!

  • I have a fear of important things being out of my control, so fire department isn't that great of a choice, DH worked with me and I've gotten better about the face mask and depending on an air take to breathe...I'm past the hyperventilating part but then I start panicking that I'm going to run out of air...like I'm going to die when I could just loosen the mask and breathe..
  • Clowns and bees! I run like a little girl from both.

  • I am trapped in this quote box for some reason....

I am terrified of spiders. Read a story on NBC today about an Australian man who visited Bali and a spider crawled into him via an appendectomy (I think) scar and lived in him for three days. NOPE.

WTFF? I would literally die if I found out I had a spider living in me!

We keep window punches in our cars to make me feel better about this kind of fear. They're really cheap and easy to use(even works underwater)

  • I just learned how scared I am of the woods at night. Having to pee at 3am and walk by yourself to the restroom is creepy. You can't help but feel like you are being watched. I seriously should stop watching the horror movies that take place in the woods. Then again as they say in Zombieland "Beware of bathrooms".

  • I have an irrational fear of lady bugs and those nasty little lady bug imposters. I completely lose it when I encounter one. I had a traumatic experience when I was a kid. I was walking through a park during lady bug mating season or something. I got a bunch in my hair and clothing. Started screaming and a couple went in my mouth. Took forever for my dad to calm me down. I hate them. A lot.

Right??? I'm so itchy now just thinking about it! I also had the horrifying split-second thought that I was growing a spider instead of a baby.

... We had a big mirror at the end of the hall where our bathroom is. I had to move it because I kept swearing I would see something move in it when I got up in the middle of the night. I know that's insane but, whatever.

Oh my gawd! I'm having nightmares tonight...its going to kill me waiting until Tues for my u/s...
    I can hear it now:
U/S Tech- what do you think you're having? Me-a spider
  • I'm scared of being alone dark... like if my husband for some reason gets up during the night, I freak out. It has always been like this, I used to sleep with the TV before I got married.

  • If I'm home alone I'm afraid to blow dry my hair. I'm scared someone will sneak up on me and get me and I can't hear them. My husband knows to leave me alone while I'm drying my hair because he has walked into the bathroom and I scream my head off. It's really irrational but I just can't get over it. I've watched a few too many scary movies I think.

I'm this way, then I think what if someone's in the room and DH has been killed...I watch way to much investigative descovery channel...
Also whenever I see your pic I think I'm looking at my cat.
  • Stuffy spaces. It's worse if they are small but a stuffy lecture hall is enough to send me outside searching for air. I could suffocate! Run the ventilation system!
