Silly carseat question

We got our Britax B-Easy car seat in the mail as a gift the other day.  It's awesome!

Only thing is there's this warning label sewn in by the head, right where I imagine baby's little forehead will drop while napping. It's not soft at all.

Can I pick the threads to take the warning label off?  Obviously don't plan to resell the thing or anything.

Thoughts?

You can see it in this stock photo, right next to his head:

Re: Silly carseat question

  • What does the warning label say?

I'm assuming you can but I've never had one in that position to think about picking it off. I'm curious what others will have experienced!

  • I don't have that car seat, I have a maxi cosi prezi, and it has a warning label there too. It's really not a big deal, it never bothered him. I'm not sure I'd remove it...maybe call and ask? Idk. ..

Nothing much... Just not to put a rear facing kid in the front seat, that the backseat is safest <12 years old. In 3 languages. Don't feel like I need that reminder daily....image

  • The actual material of the tags never bothered my kids, but both of mine flopped their heads to the side whole sleeping and the tag corner scratched the face of one of my kids so I unstitched it. If you're going to remove it, I would do it now so that the color wears/fades evenly. You could tell where the tag was removed from mine because of the fading.
  • I'd leave it for warranty/ recall purposes.

Why do you want it removed? Just for appearance? If they baby even notices, they likely won't mess with it and really won't be able to take it off.

I want it removed for the same reason @AggieMom0809‌ said - the edges felt sharp against my finger and the material is scratchy. And I don't see a purpose in keeping it on - it isn't a functional part of the car seat, its removal won't impact function, I won't be reselling the car seat, and the warning isn't one I need to read (I already know it).

I guess I should call Britax and see if they'll honor warranty and recall if I remove that tag...

  • Calling seems like a good idea, but I wanted to add that we also have that seat and used it for DD. We never had an issue with the label bothering her.

  • I believe all warning labels are in that area. I wouldn't remove it. Nor did it ever bother my kid. I remember thinking it was a horrible spot for the label with my first but I don't even notice it now. I would be interested in hearing what the company says.

Here's DS sleeping in his (convertible seat) I know it's not the infant seat. Just saying how i believe they are all in the same spot b
  • I ditto pp's that ours is a different brand but the label is in the same spot and it never bothered her.
