SO and i knew each other through NA. We were friends for a while because at the time both of us had just been through a lot and we're trying to get out shit together and get our lives in order so we just hung out as friends. Then one day i needed a place to live quick and he let me move in with him and from there we realized that we really did want to be together! We did things a little backwards lol
March 15' January Siggy Callenge: Animals Being Jerks
SO and I have known each other since I was 13 and he was 14. We "dated" in 9th grade and I broke up with him because I had too many other boys on my mind at the time. After freshman year, I moved out of state and he moved to another city/school. We kept in touch periodically throughout the years but eventually he fell off the map. After I moved back to TX in 2011, I was on Facebook one night and he showed up on my suggested friends list, and the rest is history!
I was in need of a car so my friend called her friend who deals in buying and selling cars. He came and took me to look at a cars every weekend for 3 weeks (trying to flirt with me the whole time but I basically told him to kick rocks). I finally found a car and he still kept coming around every time I was with our mutual friend. I told him for months I had no interest in hanging out or going on a date since I had just gotten out of a bad relationship. He did this for months!! I finally gave in and let him take me on a date. It was the best first date I have ever been on and we have been inseparable best friends ever since.
We met in a summer Latin class in Rome, which the Vatican's Latinist taught for many years. Other couples met there too; DH called it a "dating service for nerds."

Back in 2009, my ex husband and I split up again for the 2nd time and were on the verge Of divorce because he decided he didn't want to be married anymore. I moved back home to Texas. I was 22 at the time. My brother in law worked at the same restaurant my fiance works at now and he knew my now fiancé from work. One night I stopped by my sisters house and my fiancé was there. We saw each other and obviously were both has a physical attraction but didn't talk to each other. I went home and my sister called me and asked if it was okay to give him my number because he had asked for it. He was 19 at the time, but so cute! We texted a lot and finally met up one night but were both so shy we didn't really even talk to each other, we texted while in the same room! Haha! We finally talked but I had to leave so he walked me to my car and I was waiting for him to make a move, I really wanted him to kiss me but all he did was hug me and I left. Not too long after I stupidly reconciled with my ex, got pregnant with my son and moved back out of state.
When i moved back in 2011, he found out I was back for good and we tried to talk again but I was so shy and he was the first guy ID talked to again after seperating from my ex so I was nervous. I guess he got tired of waiting for me and decided to get back with his ex girlfriend who I can't stand and doesn't like me, who got back with him to spite me when she found out I liked him. I really did like him and I cried when I found out he was back with her. I don't blame him for getting tired of waiting for me though. My SSister hated him for a while after that because it was her and my brother in laws goal to get us together.
I lost touch with him after that. I would hear things about him here and there, like that bitch of an ex of his cheating on him which I thought was funny. Flash forward to Summer of 2012, it was my best friends birthday and we were all out at a bar celebrating. I didn't know it at the time but my brother in law had invited him and he showed up. We didn't talk to each other right away, but our physical attraction to each other was still there, we kept looking at each other, ID catch him watching me dance, stuff like that. He even stuck out his foot and tried to trip me when I walked by him to go to the bathroom, though he swears he didn't. Very elementary flirting of him haha. Finally before I left the bar, he came up to me to get my number and made me call his phone from mine to make sure he had mine. He was so close to me when doing it I wanted him to kiss me so bad. He later told me he did that on purpose haha. I told myself this time I was going to make him mine and texted him as soon as I left the bar. We kept texting and had our first date 2 days later. Almost 2 1/2 years later, we're engaged and having a baby! He still gives me a hard time for rejecting him the first time Lol. He said he had never been turned down by a girl before.
My SO and brother have been best friends since high school. We had actually both asked my brother about each other, and my brother told us both "not interested in you, leave it alone."
When we were in our early 20's all 3 of is had been hanging out a lot and J & I ended up having a short fling. (Nothing serious, maybe lasted a month, but my brother was furious.) We eventually lost contact & both moved on to have serious relationships.
A few years ago we were reunited again through my brother. I was going through a divorce and J's relationship with his son's mother had ended. We started dating (this time around my brother was really happy for us) and here we are now.
We worked together. He was the shy engineer; I was the hot receptionist
We talked a little bit at work, but it was a year before he came to my birthday party (for the free beer) that we really hit it off. That was almost 8 years ago.
We met when we were on a business trip in Jamaica. We were both travel agents for the same company but in different states and happened to be in the same group of agents sent down at the same time. We were doing Sandals hotel inspections, so it's always funny to tell people we met at Sandals and see the look on their face. One night we were all in the disco dancing and two guys had me sandwiched and I felt really uncomfortable, so I danced my way out and over to my H and asked him to "save me" from them. So he danced with me and the other two guys left. We hit it off right away and long story short I ended up in his room that night. No shame, my H is sexy and has some fab moves! We ended up spending the rest of the trip sneaking off to be together when we weren't doing work.
When we had to go home we called and emailed, we drove to visit each other a few times, and less than 3 months after we had met, he asked me to move in and I said yes!
H was a dinosaur when I met him. Have you guys seen the clip of that funny little boy on Ellen meeting the dinosaurs? That is what H was doing when I met him.
I had a friend who was a dino on the Walking With Dinosaurs arena tour and H happened to be a dino as well. I got free tickets to the show when they came to town and H gave my friends and I the backstage tour. We all went out that night and H and I have been together ever since.
I traveled to see him on tour for our first year dating and then he quit the tour and moved here to be with me. Today is our 3 year wedding anniversary!
I met my H at the VA methadone clinic cause I'm gangsta like that;) we moved in together after two weeks and are about to celebrate our two year wedding anniversary and our baby is due on our 3 year dating anniversary feb 23!
We were introduced by his sister. I thought he was a giant dork, he thought I was a be-otch. We worked together at a restaurant for about two years and never spoke to each other! He came in one day wearing street clothes and, well, someone had grown up. *drools*
Our first date was to a pool hall and his ex-girlfriend tagged along. Apparently he had promised her parents, who went out of town, that he'd babysit her (she had some issues). Talk about awkward. I'm still not sure why that didn't end things right then and there. I was young and dumb, I suppose.
We've been together, with a few off moments when I was in college, since we were 17. We're now 28 and expecting our first LO. Never thought we'd be here! But we're super stoked.
What about a ring? Meh. I have a roof over my head, two cats, a dog... marriage isn't a priority for me right now. And my parents have six divorces between them. Yeah. I'm good with what I got!

Work. I was a packer operator and he was my boss ☺️ I was there about a week and we still haven't talked. One day he jumped into my packer and said I cut my self and showed me the huge gash on his leg, he said I was doing a good job then he jumped out of the packer.i thought he was completely NUTS!! Haha. He ended up winning me over. He is still nuts and I love him so much!
We were set up on a blind date. The couple that set us up thought we would make a great match. I wasn't looking for anything serious at the time but I thought "what to hell, why not?!" First date went really well and the rest is history!
So many interesting stories - mine is boring. We're an eHarmony success story.
On a more interesting note, we are always telling people about our second date. Among other things (dinner & a movie), we decided to do a tasting at a local brewery that was pretty new (I think it had just passed one year in business). It was in a small industrial space the next town over from where I was living (and it's in the same town we're currently living in). There was next to nobody there - we were able to sit at the bar that had about 4 stools for a full (and free) tasting; staff was the father and wife of one of the owners (the brewery is owned by three brothers). While we're doing our tasting, one of the "staff" gets a call. The brewery had won a medal at the Great American Beer Festival.
Anyways, this brewery continues to grow & thrive, hopefully like our relationship. We go there fairly regularly (right now only when we have guests), and the tasting room is packed - they've doubled the size of it (removed retail merchandise) and took out all seating. It's standing room only, and they've gotten the permits they need to sell flights, 1/2 pints, and pints of beer. We note that there's always a couple of people there with babies, so I'm looking forward to taking my little guy there this spring.
T and I have known each other since 1st grade. We started dating in college. People look at me weird when I tell them I have known him for 24 years.
I have a pretty similar story. My DH and I met in 1st grade as well. We went to the same elementary school and junior high, but different high schools. We reconnected again later on Myspace while I was in college. Lol.
We met through mutual friends. Despite some attraction, neither one of us were ever single at the same time, so nothing happened for 3-4 years. He finally expressed his interest in me at our friend's birthday party. At the time, it was probable that I was going to move to TX (for work) and I was also seeing someone that lived there. But the seed was planted and I couldn't stop thinking about him after that. Eventually, everything in TX fell through, and a year later at that same friend's next birthday party, we exchanged phone numbers. Went on our first date a few days later and have been together almost 3 years now, married for 1 and a half.
DH and I met in High School freshman english class, got to be friends working in the scene shop for high school productions, and had crushes on each other on and off through high school. He was part of a group of guys I hung out with, played board games, racquetball, occasionally basketball (but I sucked at that), went to movies and we all got to be really good friends.
One night shortly after I had a really toxic relationship come to an unexpected end, we went to a party thrown by one of the other guys and we wound up drunk and we started making out, and we've been together ever since.
I think I answered this on a ticker change once a long time ago! I'll play again.
We met a handful of times before we actually were fully aware of each other's existence. Around 10 years ago our (separate) bands played some shows together on several different occasions. Most of our interactions at that time are hardly retained as memories since we were both living pretty intense lifestyles, but that's prob for the best. I'm sure it wasn't pretty. I was a dirty punk and he was metal as all hell.
We didn't meet up again until couple years later when we both just happened to fall into the same random friend group and realized that we DID actually know each other. I had a shitty boyfriend, he had a shitty (and I mean really shitty) girlfriend so we were just friends for a couple of years.
One day while we were both single he posted a facebook comment about getting an exoskeleton to be like Wolverine and I was all "UMMM EXCUSE ME you mean endoskeleton, unless you want to have a shell exterior like a frickin bug, idiot." I guess he found that super sexy because he asked me on a date. Together ever since.
We met on Match.com on the 1 year anniversary of my father's death. I wasn't going to go on the date because I was tired of going on lackluster/bad internet dates with guys I wasn't interested in, but the alternative was to sit at home and be depressed. So I saw this date as a diversion at the very least.
We met for coffee. The date only lasted 1 hour and he ended it saying he had to go look at some apartments. To me, that was him making a polite but hasty exit. Obviously, I thought he didn't like me. But for some reason, as I was driving away this random thought popped into my head that said, 'I'm going to marry that man.' Then I told myself I was crazy and that I'd probably never hear from him again.
We got married 4 months after that initial meeting and things have been getting better every day since then.
I love all the love at first sight and chance meeting stories. Ours is quite long and we had to grow on each other for awhile!
We met summer before high school. I was switching schools and I was the new girl at orientation (really small city/school) and he fell in love instantly. We dated off and on in high school, then moved about an hour away from each other after high school. We dated off and on for 10 years, things were really hard when we were so young and long distance, as I moved home for a few years to take care of my mom. A few years ago, we were dating seriously long distance while I lived in Vegas and got laid off so I packed up and moved in with him in San Diego. Happily ever after since!
We got all of our young craziness out over the years and knowing each other for so long makes things so much easier when it comes to our families. It's really cute because over the years all of our friends and families knew we would end up together, just took us a little while! When I say he's the love of my life, I really mean it!
I was 16, he was 21. It was in the basement of the house of the guy who I had just lost my virginity to 3 weeks prior. It was the guys birthday, and I didn't even wanna go cause I was so mad about him avoiding me afterwards. But my friends convinced me anyway so I got all cute and went.
I can distinctly remember the moment I walked down the stairs and turned the corner, my H was standing at the pool table wearing a gray o'neill t shirt and had big biceps and a buzz cut and we made eye contact. He told his friends I was cute and asked who I was. His friend, who actually had a crush on me and who I had just went to prom with told him who I was and introduced us. That was the first and only night I ever got drunk and I was all over him all night. We slept on the same couch and made out but nothing else. The next day he texted me while I was hungover at work and we started dating within a week.
So now I always joke that I just needed to get drunk once in my life to meet the man of my dreams who I ended up marrying. Which is totally not how it usually works out for most 16 year olds...
We met through work- we became friends shortly after I started there through mutual nerd-like interests.
At the time I had *just* gotten married to my college boyfriend at age 23, and then my mother died. Not long after 1st H and I separated and current H was there for me the whole way through.
After 1st H and I were kaput, I continued my friendship with current H, and then it grew in to more, and 4 years later here we are!
We met in 4th grade. It was a small town/small school and we had the same group of friends through high school. By our senior year our core group of friends had kinda dispersed so it was always just us hanging out. We had been dating 8-9 months when I moved away for college (Indiana) and he went somewhere closer to home (in Texas), so we played the long distance relationship game for the next 2 years while I was in Indiana and then Mexico for a semester. After the first 2 years of college it was really a make or break time for us, so I transferred back to Texas and we got engaged the next year then married the next.
Dh and I met in high school and I had such a stupid girl crush on him! I always joked about him being the man I marry. We never actually spoke in school and I admired the back of his head in science class. Then years later we had mutual friends and we just clicked!
The FI and I met while working together at six flags circa march 2010. He was my supervisor (ooohh what rebels we are). We hit it off after two months of very friendly friendship. It's so funny that everyone knew we were together "illegally" but they didn't care. We were such great workers and never let our relationship get in the way of work. Needless to say a lot of other team members despised our relationship because rules that applied to them didn't apply to us. I did end up becoming a supervisor eventually so our illegal relationship became legal.
So how we met? I loved his face. he couldn't get past my bowl haircut and high waisted khakis so he never noticed how "cute I was". I asked for his number on a whim. He didn't respond to my text for weeks. He was then attracted to my willingness to get dirty at work. He responded to my text finally. BAMM success in the making!
My sister and him were friends in college. He was a college football player so before his NFL combine trainings he was in a random city in CA and that happened to be where I took one semester of college. So my sister told me to hang out with him cause they were friends and I didn't know anyone in this city where I moved for a semester.
We lived near each other all of our lives and went to college 8 miles away from each other and then we end up meeting in a random city in CA where neither of us are from.
H and I met our first day of freshman year of college. He was my boyfriend at the times roommate. We were both in relationships for 3 years - but were the BEST of friends - we were on the same horse judging team and other activities through school. Everyone said that we should date - but we never wanted to risk our friendship. One day we were both single and FINALLLLLLLY woke up and decided that we should try the whole dating thing - and the rest is history.
We met on a blind date as well! A girl who worked with me and her husband who worked with my H thought we would be a good match. We met up on a double date and went to a cheeseburger joint and went bowling. The rest is history!

DH's best friend was dating my cousin's best friend. So we met through them. We hung out in a group a few times, then started hanging out just us. 5.5 years later he proposed. We were married in less than 6 months. 2 years later came DS and here we go again can't believe it'll be 10 years together in Feb!
DH and I met down the shore visiting our friends who were dating at the time. He ignored me at the bar all night, but then hit on me later. We made out and then I didn't hear from him for a year. He facebooked me after that year apologizing and explaining he dated someone else in the meantime but that he wanted to get together. I told him he can man up, call me and ask me on a real date. We went on a double date with the mutual friends from the beginning of the story and the rest is history.
We met at Vons (my local grocery store). DH at the time was in his second year of college (I was in in my first) and working at Vons bagging groceries at the time that we met. I had come in to buy 4 boxes of brownie mix, we both flirted with each other the whole time I was checking out. After I got my brownie mix he mentioned that he would be off work in about an hour and half that if I wanted to bring him any of the brownies at that time. I came back with a plate of brownies and my phone number. That was back in 2000, we have been together ever since, married for 8.5 years, DS is almost 4, and now we have another boy on the way.
SO and I have known each other since I was 13 and he was 14. We "dated" in 9th grade and I broke up with him because I had too many other boys on my mind at the time. I should add that to this day I am still the only girl that has ever dumped him! Maybe that's why he couldn't forget me?
