    Getting my flame-retardant suit on...


    I think American Horror Story is annoying. Admittedly, I've only caught a few episodes here and there. But, it seems like Ryan Murphy just chooses to do things for the shock value and to be "edgy", not because it enhances the plot or makes it any better. DH enjoys the show so I'm giving it a shot this season instead of just watching an episode here and there, but most of the time I end up just shaking my head at some of the choices the show makes. I'd really just like to see more genuinely interesting characters, not characters who just make crazy-ass choices in the name of entertainment. Flame away.

    I don't and never will understand why so many people get hyped up for football or any sport they don't know how to play themselves for that matter. I'm sure a large majority of fans of football have never played a game in their life either. I guess I'm a more 'go out there and do it yourself' kind of person and only bother to watch hobbies or sports that I understand because I have played or done them myself.

    OK another UO. Branching from the AHS uo. I think the Walking Dead is sooooo boring. My husband loves it. So does everyone I know personally. I have tried time and time again and I just can't even.

    I love me some Walking Dead. I have no interest in the whole zombie craze going on but for some reason, I get sucked into this. I think it's the cliff hangers at the end of each episode. I JUST HAVE TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!!

    If you live near an Once Upon  Child they have cheap Halloween costumes there! I got a really cute Tigger costume for $8. They had racks and racks of them.

    I don't know how I feel about Disney movies. I wasn't raised on them and never got into them thereafter. I mean, I will not restrict DD from them, but I will not make an effort to buy all the DVDs either.

    I love online shopping for this reason. I can sit on the couch in pjs and shop to my heart's content. Black Friday isn't as big a thing in Canada yet but Boxing Day can get crazy. Rarely is there anything I want so badly that I will venture out into those crowds to get it.

    I think the conceal and carry law is stupid. Just because you are able to get a license to carry a gun doesn't mean you need it strapped to your hip 24/7. My neighbor thinks he's "Johnny Law" and likes to mow his lawn with his gun strapped on his hip exposed for all the neighborhood to see. We live in one of the safest suburbs and our neighborhood is primarily young families with small children.

    Not UO (I hope): I think it's ridiculous to have stores open on Thanksgiving. I'm too full and tired to deal with that. I worked and Thanksgiving once and it sucked balls whether you volunteer or not!

    UO: I think it's sad when people say they hate/loathe the holidays. Does it really kill you to hear happy music or to deal with happier people for a month or 2? I've done retail, I know people can be jerks, but come on. Let's enjoy the end of the year damn it!

    DH's friend showed a Disney princess movie to his daughter--the Little Mermaid maybe--and she's apparently completely stopped listening to him after that. She talks back etc. If you really think about it, Disney princesses on a whole are not good role models for positive parent-child relationships.
    You make a good point. Also, the whole princess thing bothers me. I feel they are a little too... sexy maybe. We have some good friends with a 4yo completely Disney princess obsessed. She owns every dress up dress from the Disney store. Last time I saw this girl she was walking down the stairs from her room in plastic heels and fanning herself. IDK. Just too much for me.

    Is this directed at me for starting the UO thread? Because I've been here since the beginning, yo. I just went MIA while on maternity leave because bumping at work is fun but bumping at home with a newborn is hard.

    All the hating on Chipotle and Walking Dead... SMH Love them both.

    I think the cheddar biscuits at Red Lobster are gross. (The rest of the restaurant too, but especially the biscuits.)

    Also I did a name change and acct change in jan because I couldn't remember my log in crap for some pregnancy brain reason and I've been here since aug of last year so I understand that. Another UO I love SOA. And the walking dead and chipotle so suck it! Haha
