My big boobed ladies!

Alright ladies, I am starting off this pregnancy with a 34 DD. My boobs haven't really gotten bigger yet but I know it is coming. I've read that your boobs can grow up to 3 bra sizes (holy crap). What is your game plan for when your porn star boobs are out of control? Is there a place you have in mind for bras?

STM's any advice on good places to get bras?

  • My favorite bras are from Aerie but I have the biggest size they offer. :( It's hard because my back is a 34. BAH. I may have to check out Medela! Thanks!

  • Thanks for making this thread! I've been thinking about this too. I'm a 36DD but don't want to spend a ton of money on bras, but I want to be supported.

  • Hahaha I started as a 34C....at 10weeks, I'm already spilling out of my 34DD....Dolly Parton look for Halloween is gonna be easy. And this isn't even milk yet...geez.

  • Thank you so much for making this thread. My starting boobs are a 36ddd, I'm currently in my 38ddd (which was a pair I bought accidentally last year in the wrong size) I think a DDD is in fact an E, but I've yet to go find out as I'm scared shitless. All I can think about is once I have my baby, I will not be one of those braless women who place a small towel over their shoulders to breast feed, I will be using a beach towel and a tent bra *welp*
DEAD hahah thank you for the laugh.

    Ps. SO TRUE.

  • I finally got the chance to buy bigger bras. At 9 weeks I've gone from 34C to 34D and the way I'm fitting in the D I know I'm not going to be in that one much longer. I only bought two since I'd prefer not to throw away money, lol. I'm in the same tough boat as @VeganOnTuesdays‌ though as my back/ribs haven't grown at all and apparently after a C cup, 34's are hard to find. :/

  • I'm staring out as a 38ddd. Ugh. I too go to Nordstrom but I don't want to throw copious amounts of money away on something that I'm going to have to replace. But then again I want to be comfortable and supported. Oh the dilemma. #thestruggleisreal
  • Yeah started as a 32DD (which are impossible to find but that's another topic), and my bras are very much uncomfortable already. I have been existing in sports bras & camis. I can definitely tell my boobs have grown.

I've wondered if it's more noticeable so early in my case bc I have implants. :-/  I had nice full C's before losing quite a bit of weight after college and shrunk done to a deflated A/small B. I love my boobies, but I'm "worried" how big they may get.  @-)

  • I started out as a 32G and I am 11 weeks pregnant. I am currently in a 34H but I'm going to have to go up in a few weeks. I'm waiting until I have full-on "double boob" before getting more bras. Ladies, I have never met a cheap big bra. If you're over DD to DDD, you might find one for $40 if you are lucky. Nordstrom, specialty bra stores, and online shopping are going to be it. Online shopping is great once you really know your size, but is hard to do and not recommended while your body is changing during pregnancy. I like Linda's online (she has stores in NYC for those of you who live there) but I've encountered a few other random sites, too. As much as I hate investing, I also have to look somewhat presentable, so popping out of bras just doesn't cut it at work. You can always buy one, maybe 2 bras and try alternating with old bras on days that you're mostly at home. I hated my breasts as a teen- was basically in denial about them. Then they stayed the same size and I got used to it. Now I'm accepting this change, but it does bring back horrible memories of adolescent bra shopping with mom!
  • You are absolutely right. There's no way I am going to get around purchasing a 60$ or up bra. Booo

This is a standard size at Nordstrom.
I live in rural Oklahoma. But I know there is a Nordstrom outlet about 1 hr away in OKC; I might have to check there.

  • I started as a 34 dd. I just went to motherhood maternity where I live and bought 2 nursing bras in a 36 f. They are comfortable and were only $25. However try them on because all their different styles fit way differently. I also used them with my last son and they held up great!
  • I started out as a 38DDD, and was pushing it with my bras even before pregnancy (I had some weight gain). I hate spending a lot of money on bras, but I caved last week and went to Nordstrom and just told the gal there that I was pregnant, I need a bra that fits now and also has some room to grow, and I don't want to know what size it is.

She was absolutely amazing at fitting me and getting me into a great bra in less than five minutes. I died a little to spend $65 on a bra, but it's SO beyond worth it to have one that fits really well, gives great support, and looks fantastic. And it does have some room to grow in the cup area if I get bigger.

    Also I looked when I got home, and it's a 38H. :((

  • I started out as a 42DD and when I got measured this past weekend at Motherhood Maternity, I ended up already measuring a 44E.  I got some really super comfortable bras there for ~$30 each and they had a buy 3, get 1 free sale going on too, so at the end of the day, I spent less than $100 for 4 comfortable bras.  I usually bra shop online at Bravissimo, and it looks like they have some nursing bras, but I wanted to try them on.

  • I am a 34DD and they are getting out of control!!!! I don't know what I will do, I am starting to bust out of my bras, I guess I will wait a few weeks and then start looking for a maternity bra. I don't know, I am ready for my normal "small" boobs!
  • I am 38DDD and I get just about all of my Bras from Lane Bryant. They are not horribly expensive ($35-$50) and I've found their wire free bras! those are the best thing ever. Last pregnancy my old bras hurt so much as my belly grew from the underwire pushing in so I gave these a try. Now they are my everyday bras. They've held their shape unlike any other bra I've ever had. I've never looked into if they have nursing bras or not though.
  • I was 34GG before my first pregnancy, went up to about an H, but haven't bought any H bras except for nursing bras. This time they are out of control and soooooo heavy! I'm starting to quad-boob out of my 34GGs. I refuse to buy new ones until I know where I stand after all of this.

  • I started at a 36 DDD and went to a resale shop that happened to have lactation consultants and I got measured at 9 weeks for a 38 J/K. WTF! I ended up buying a nursing bra that has some room to grow in the cup and an extender for the back for $50. But if I end up too big to fit it by the time I'm actually nursing I'm going to be bummed I spent all that money for nothing.
  • I started my last pregnancy at a 30 F and found by 10-11 weeks my bras didn't fit at all. I went to a specialty lingerie store and got fitted for maternity bras. They do make some that have extra hooks on the band and the cups are stretchy.

But I ended up buying a few regular ones (by Panache and Simone Perele) with soft cups and using band extenders.
They were super expensive but I think it was worth the investment since they are very comfortable and supportive. And I'm able to use them for this pregnancy too.

  • Ladies, I need some help. I was a 38DDD before, now I'm all out of room. I live in a podunk town in ND and there isn't a damn thing for us top fortunate ladies. Nor are there any maternity stores. Where are the best places to shop online for bras? Thanks!!!
  • I don't even know how I went from a small 34C to busting out of a 36D making me have 4 boobs instead of 2 at 10wks pg . Luckily they're bigger than my pooch belly. They're growing out and I swear my boobs are growing out to the side lol.
  • I am a 34C. I went up to a 34G while lactating.
I found Anita bras best - they come in huge sizes and were oh so comfy. Not cheap, but I bought 2 and lived in them for over a year. Night and day, because I couldn't STAND having them free. So...yeah.

  • I am in the same boat! I wear a 34DDD and scared how big they will get. I buy my bras on amazon. The best bra: Lillyette enchantment. Super inexpensive, good lift and super cute!
  • I second the Lane Bryant wireless bras. They keep their shape surprisingly well without the under wire. In my last pregnancy, under wire was KILLING me by the end of 2nd tri.

  • My pre baby 34Ds became a 38E after my 2nd baby. I bought a few nursing bras from Motherhood, but I found that the more supportive the bra, the bigger they actually looked. I stayed in less than supportive but oh so comfortable nursing tanks for a long long time. The girls weren't perky and upright, but it also didn't look like I had 2 basketballs under my shirt. When I went out and needed a real bra I had 2 from Target with an underwire that served the purpose

  • 38G here - or I was the last time I checked, who knows now - down to one bra that "fits" and I have been postponing the inevitable because I hate bra shopping!  Much like with clothes, once you hit a certain size the selection goes down and the prices go up and there's nothing to be done about it.

Back home I had finally found a boutique I liked, they carried sizes that worked for me and were very good at fitting. I might go and try on 8 bras and come out with one that I liked, and I considered that a major victory. And, yeah, I'm another one who spends ~$100/bra, if it's not quality then it's not going to do its job!

Anyway not much to contribute other than my complaints, but I'm grateful for some of the suggestions in this thread - gonna bite the bullet and go shopping soon!

welcome to my lyfe i was a 38DD before DD, i am now 40/42 F...honestly i might be bigger but i refuse to go higher. i have 2 bras that arent bad from Kohls. but the pickings are slim when you get this high in size. this was just posted on my other BMB.

I'm having boob envy right now...even when pregnant last time I didn't get boobs! Seriously, what former fat kid has NEVER had boobs?

And just so you all know...there's nothing attractive about non-boobs in a cute bra... :) Especially when you are a 38A.

Edit: Okay, it looks like I have boobs in my siggy pic. That's just a 38B bra. Inside it was super empty.

  • Thanks for the website references. I'm a 42 H right now and am scared I won't be able to find bras once I start breast feeding. Hopefully I'll be able to find something on one of those sites.

I will probably buy some of the Wal-Mart sports bras with a lot of give to save money. I'm a 38 DD and Victoria's Secret won't have any $12 bras until January. I buy all mine at its semi annual sale every January and June.

  • So I'm a 36DDD or 38DD. I started going to lane bryant for bras. Used to go to Nordstrom but can't do $60+ for a bra. Anyway, I'm not plus sized but the bras at LB just work for me and they are cute! They go way bigger then D's too so check them out. I'm kinda into the sports bra thing though. My boobs are killing.
  • Oh ladies, how I feel your pain. I've always been "well endowed" for as long as I can remember. My back is small, but my cup definitely runneth over. I measured 32I at My Intimacy, for my wedding corset. After DS was born I grew into 32J (UK sizing). Nordstrom doesn't usually carry bras in my size at the store, so I have to order online. I've ordered from Nordstrom, Barenecessities , Fig and Leaves, Her Room and Linda the Bra Lady. Bras can be very expensive, so I usually try to catch a great sale. Best Wishes and let me know if you find any affordable nursing bras and tanks.
  • 36 H here, I've had issues finding a padded/underwire bra because I have no clue how big my boobs will get. I have looked for nursing bras but the only ones I have found are more like sports bras. I did manage to find bras at Dillard's for 29.99 that had underwire and padding in a J any moms manage to breastfeed without wearing nursing bras?
