@FitMom3510 you're doing fine. I'm 16 weeks (technically 5+5 by LMP, but measuring at 16+1) and have gained 8 pounds. They weigh me at the office every time and the midwices do not seem concerned about my weight at all. They say up to 5 pounds in first tri is "normal" ( although I would hesitate to shame anyone for gaining more because obsessing about it isn't healthy either) and then 1 lb/week afterwards. So you're really pretty much on track.
Everyone gains differently, some gain a lot in the beginning and then it slows down, some lose weight then gain a lot at the end. I'm just going to keep up my walking regimen and I'll only get concerned about my weight if the doctor or midwife says something.
Me-24~~ DH-25~~Married 6/15/2013~~Pregnant with our first due April 2, 2015~ Septate/ Bicornuate/Arcuate /some kind of not-normal uterus- won't know for sure which one till after babe is born~~Hoping for a full term baby!
Wow you guys are lucky I have gained almost 12 pounds and I am 12 weeks. Boy it's depressing, but I was the same with my other pregnancy I gained a lot at first and then slowed down, gaining a total of 33 pounds at the end. I hope and pray this happens this time.
Because of my food aversions and morning sickness, I'm down 3-4LBs from my pre-pregnancy weight. I'm not concerned and my doctor hasn't mentioned anything about it either. However, my pants are definitely a little snugger than usual, so I know that even though my overall weight isn't increasing, my hips and belly are.

Theres a healthy way to think and talk about weight. I agree with those who say not to stress, but disagree with those who say that its not worth talking about. It's certainly relevant to me and others who have posted.
As for myself, Im happy to have gained about a pound. With my MS its been a battle to eat enough, so I feel like I'm winning!
I'm nearly 15 weeks and have gained about 5 lbs. I have no frame of reference so I try to focus on maintaining a healthy lifestyle rather than the weight -- my eating hasn't really changed and still go running most days so I'm not concerned. My hips and thighs have definitely changed through!! I'll be happy to watch the bump slowly outgrow them
I've gained about 6lbs and I'm 14 weeks. Because of nausea I've been living on mainly toast and potatoes and haven't felt up to anything but gentle exercise. Now feeling a bit better I'm making much more of an effort to vary my diet, but it's been hard to eat vegetables and meat etc. as I've just felt so sick! My midwife says I don't even need to be weighed throughout the pregnancy as long as the baby is ok, and that suits me fine
