My toddler put her mouth on the pole on the bus. She lived.
Maybe it's because I spent the first 13 years of my life in the Middle East and Asia, but I can't get too worked up about this type of thing in the very clean US.
@Lizabethann06 is a rockstar and is just generally awesome. Thanks so much again lady!
@econmama, that is cool. I'm glad you do those types of things so I don't have to and then I can just read your pontification. That's not a word but you know what I mean.
So you all know how I was really worried about Isaac not talking a couple of weeks ago? Well he's started a little. His word that I really hear every time he says it? "STOP!!" It's usually at his sister when she's annoying him. Which is usually just taking things away from him that I've asked her to grab if I'm busy. She also grabs her toys from him. He doesn't like that much. Point is, he has words! He rarely says "mama" though. We're working on it.
I'm going to have to wake cal up from his nap to get the girls. This is not going to be pretty..
I hate when I have to wake up Cooper from a nap. I feel so bad!

Coop had his 15 month check up today. He's in the 1% for weight. He's on the charts! Whoo hoo! ;-) He did go from 3% to 9% on height too.

@econmama makes a good point about exposure to bugs helping build good immunity. Normal flora type stuff is very helpful to the kiddos. Rhinovirus is cool. But the shit growing in hospitals/doctor offices is the bad stuff. Like, virulent, drug resistant combination, fuck up your world type shit. For the average joe blow, generally no big deal. But for younger kids who haven t had an opportunity to develop their immune systems, the big bad bugs should be avoided IMPO. I am team @haddocky. Lots of handwashing at the docs. Dont bring toys from home, if a paci drops on the floor it gets washed immediately, and shoes for sure.
Fyi, most healthcare workers I know, dont even bring the shoes they wear to work, into their homes. They stay at work or in their car.
And just read/skimmed the butt baby thread. omg.... hilarious!

Sorry I've been MIA lately. Started back at work last week, kids are adjusting pretty well to DC. LO#1 is an old pro, LO#2 is still adjsuting to bottles, she is not a fan, poor thing! My internet and phone has been all weird as well, so bumping has been difficult. LO#1 had her 15 month appt today, 25lbs 12 oz and 33 1/2 inches. Growing like a weed! Congrats to all the moms with good news and hugs to all who need them!
@ladyblue07 I am also waiting for AF. I think I'm going on birth control. Ugh. In better news, I made that pumpkin cheesecake I was telling @missymr to make & I can't stop taking little tastes everytime I open the fridge for something.
At DD's 15mo appt, the pedi noticed a droop in her right eyelid and sent us to see the pediatric ophthalmologist. The pediatric ophthalmologist was unable to provide a diagnosis or prognosis at this early stage, but expressed concern that the droop has become increasingly pronounced since our first visit 10 months ago. He wants to see her again in 6 months. Crap. Poor kid inherited my eyes. (
Went to the doctor earlier to have my blood drawn. They're testing for a ton of different things so we'll see if I can find what's causing the numbness/tingling. Thank you to the ladies who were concerned!
Caught up in the whole day...and while many need hugs and reinforcement and hand sanitizer. I'm stuck thinking of Betsy Big'Uns. You could be bigguns. It covers guns and un's all in one?
My little is turning into such a kid! Today when we walked out of daycare, he held my hand and waved at the big kids. He tried to climb into the car himself before I helped him up. He also cut out another bfing session. From three to two! ( Why is he growing up so fast?!
A lurker from July '13, I posted a handful of times on July but the board moved faster than I could keep up with regular posting. I have posted on a few boards around the bump and currently posting semi regular/lurker style in Jan. 15. Hard to jump in when you check in here and there instead of daily but yesterday I was reading and posted.

I have a serious problem. I always say I will go to bed earlier and get enough sleep. But that never happens.
It will happen tonight! (:|
I hope.
