@eastie156 it is making me really nervous too. It is way too close for comfort. (Ebola)
The *potential* case was discovered at Harvard Vanguard Medical, which is where I receive prenatal care, although I go to another location that's close to that location. The hospital is Beth Israel and it's making me a little nutty thinking about it.. I'm sure it's fine but I'm worried.
oh man I'm struggling trying to find a balance of believing what the media is saying, which is probably dramatized, and also the government trying to downplay any real issues. Ugh.
That's me too, @flamingemu !! I'm a perfectionist and notice little details, so I do all the painting in my house. My MIL helped me paint the laundry room, and after she left, I went around and fixed all the little spots. (Like, tiny spots that no one but me would notice) I also don't use painters tape at all, so I freehand it all.
I really enjoy painting -- it's therapeutic to just focus on something and see the end result fairly quickly.
I'm a perfectionist too. I'm already on H to touch up the little spots that need fixing from this weekend, and he's all "We have bigger projects to fix first". But in my mind, if we don't fix it now, it will be one of those little things that never gets done and that bothers me until the end of time.
I'm too overwhelmed to even pick out curtains at this point.
Curtains are the worst I have decided. I want to move the curtains in my family room to James' room and get new ones for downstairs. But I cannot find any I like, except the silk S&L curtains that are $228 a panel and DH is not on board with $1000 for one room of curtains. It is a grueling challenge. But anything else, I will gladly shop for you.
Okay @hmp1, I am going to take you up on this how about bedding?
Our bedroom is this color...Perfect Greige by Sherwin Williams. Floors are on the darker side, but not espresso-dark hardwood.
Last day of work before I'm out on maternity leave. I'm feeling guilty because I'm a little worried about how much time I'll be spending with DS. Shouldn't I be excited? I'm worried I'm not going to be able to handle it... ::Flame away::
No flames here. I actually kept DS1 in daycare for 6 weeks during my maternity leave because our daycare was going to charge me for 4 weeks anyway. I was also worried that I wouldn't be able to balance the two kids or that I wasn't going to like being home with DS1. When he was home with us the second half of my leave, I actually ended up loving it. I was sad to go back to work.
It was fun being home with him around the holidays. We could do fun stuff during the week that I was always trying to cram into the weekends or that we didn't get to do because I was at work.

What color is your headboard/furniture?
Headboard and bedroom furniture is dark, close to espresso. We haven't picked out an area rug or window treatments yet, so it's pretty much a blank canvas.

Also I'm oddly worried about Ebola, which is stupid. There's been one unconfirmed case at my delivery hospital and I'm irrationally worrying.
EDIT: for how many times I wrote worry in one post.
No flaming here. Benjy will be 12 weeks this week, and I still struggle with both kids. But maybe I'm just a bad mom.

Um, Ethan is 2 and Maya's 3 1/2 and I still struggle with both kids. It took me nearly two hours to get the three of us up, dressed, fed and out of the house this morning.

Yep. If I'm supposed to have the two kid thing figured out 2 years later, than I've failed.
We've been in our house for 2.5 years and we have only painted G's room because I cannot decide on colors. Also, DH does a lazy job painting but the walls need to be freshened up. Nail bulges, nail holes, small cracks and such. I really don't know how to do it all but DH just paints. So I just keep putting it off.
Did I miss an update from THT?
How many people does a 13x9 of lasagna feed? I have to feed 20 people lasagna on Saturday. Maybe figure on more just in case people have seconds. I also have no idea how much stuff I need to make it. I always wing it and don't use a recipe.
DH officially opened his new car lot yesterday. He still has his full time job and is more doing this on the side. Im excited for this new chapter, but I'm about to see so much less of him and Camden is becoming more of a handful. How does one magically become a supermom with endless patience and an abundance of energy??

I got lowlights put in last night. I only had a partial done and then she did a blow out, and it looked awesome. I didn't wash it this morning, and now that I'm at work, it looks REALLY gross. I can't wait to go home and wash it tonight.
I never wash my hair every day. It would fall out of my head. I aim for every 3 days.
Feel like I'm out of the loop here! I was on a business trip the end of last week and swamped the start of this one. But I am headed to a volunteer event tonight that will have wine, so all is well :-)
We have a TON of stuff that needs to be done at our house right now. It feels like an endless stream of repair men, and one just leads to the next. We got a washer delivered, and the guys banged up the wall really badly. Now it has to be repainted. We've been meaning to get new kitchen verticals for months, and now a shade in that room broke as well, moving all window treatments to the top of the list. Our carpets are foul, our microwave turntable is broken, the dishwasher makes a funny sound, our basement ceiling has a leak... It's like "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie," home repair style.

You'll do great - try not to worry.
DS went to daycare while I was home on leave with DD. I would have had to pay to hold his spot anyway, so I kept his routine the same. No guilt here. Everyone needs to do what works best for her.

I think a 13x9 feeds about 8. I'd probably go overboard and do 3 pans, though that's likely overkill.

Overkill is fine. It freezes well. Box of noodles per pan probably?

If you go with the regular size of noodles yes. Also I make sure my sauce is a bit watery and I never cook the noodles before had. I just put the in uncooked. They come out perfect every time! Just a helpful hint. Especially since the "no cook" noodles cost a lot more. Just made one last weekend actually.

I'm in the middle of a net battle with a girl I went to HS with over flipping her exactly one year old today, FF. We didn't make it to 2 years with Hannah, mostly because she screamed the entire car ride, every day, and it was a huge distraction. But flipping on their first birthday? I judge...still. This is the same girl who asked for sleep advice when her son was a NB, but responded to my advice to swaddle "I don't want to worry about suffocating my baby, but thanks." Eye roll.

Anthro is my favorite place to look for bedding so both of these are anthro, room decor from One Kings Lane.
Comfortable fun look - navy, linen, pop of soft tones
@hmp1 Does your duvet start looking dirty quickly? We used to only use white down comforters and it seemed like they started looking grungy pretty quickly. I love the second look!

I use a color safe bleach and don't have a problem. I had a bright white duvet cover before this and it was fine for a couple years.
I hit a parked car on my way to get a filling taken out and redone. Joy. I was upset so I called my husband and started crying. He told me I need to stop being so emotional about everything. Fuck off dickhole.
My temp got fired today! I hated her and wanted to fire her before I left. I had no say in who they hired and she was terrible. I couldn't stand her. My boss thought I was being too hard on her and I was probably just "being emotional." All of my coworkers were telling me what a nightmare she was after I left. Can't wait to see what my desk looks like when I go back in January. Yikes.

I have this fear mine is going to quit. She seemed really overwhelmed which is stupid because she's got an MBA and an MSA and it's only a part time Senior Accountant position. Just goes to show that you can get a masters (or in her case two) and be useless.

I hope yours doesn't quit. It's a clusterfuck at my work right now. They asked if I could come in for a few hours next week and train a new temp. Ugh.

@kdsmith43 my mil never cooks the noodles either. I'm just worried they won't be cooked and I won't know and not be sale to feed everyone. I may splurge on the no boil ones. I am getting reimbursed.

@kdsmith43 yup! I figured I'd try it one time since it's a PITA to make those and the sauce etc. I didn't buy the no cook noodles so I tried it with the regular ones. Worked great. I don't like with lasagna how it can get really mushy from cooking then the baking. I won't make lasagna any other way. The only thing is to make sure your sauce has some liquid to it. I also use cottage cheese for my layers so it has some liquid to cook in.
So, here's an update for everyone that was helping me through furthering Carter's speech help...
I was able to get him an appointment next Thursday for a plain ol' speech eval. (different clinic) They will not do an overall language comprehension. They will only focus on his speech. They told me they are 100% certain they'll be able to qualify him with what our insurance guidelines are. The woman who will be evaluating him is the owner of the company and she is coming in on her day off because she wants to make sure she gives him adequate time for everything. I am hoping this paired with EI through the school district will help him really take off.
