STM's- Baby Weights

I just had a friend give birth this past week at 35 weeks and her baby was 6lbs 6oz.  I had a cousin give birth at 35 weeks about 2 1/2 months ago and had a 4 lbs 3oz baby.   One had a NICU stay of 2 weeks and 3 days, the other went home 2 days after birth with her mom, 0 issues.   I have friends that had 40 ish week babies that were 7 pounds, and some that were 10 pounds.   It's always crazy to me how weight of babies can vary SO much at the same exact weeks.  And the health of the babies, too.

So got me curious :)
You second timers.. talk to me about your babies!
How many weeks were you when you gave birth to your LO's? And how much did they weigh?

  • B was born at 40 weeks 2 days and weighed 8 lbs 7 oz. I was actually quite shocked by her size because my family births 10 lb babies like it's nothin'! My nephew, who was born just 4 months prior to B was 10 lbs 3 oz at 41 weeks.

I was born early at 35 weeks and weighed 3lbs 14oz (but my mom had PPROM and what sounds like IUGR).

  • 41 weeks, 7 pounds, 11 ounces.

I myself was 9.5 and my husband was only 5.4 (roughly on our due dates), so she was right in between!
  • DD1 was born at 39w3d and weighed 7lbs 4 oz, 19.5 inches long. DD2 was born at 39w6d and weighed 9lbs 1oz, 21 inches long. I sure hope baby #3 doesn't follow the trend of adding almost 2 pounds from previous child's weight.

  • DS was 10 days overdue when I was induced. He was 21.5" and 7lbs. 12oz.
  • 39w4d when she entered the world at 9 lbs 2 oz. I did not have GD.

I was the same weight when I was born (9.1 or 9.2) and my sister was just under 9 lbs. Big babies run on my side of the family, it seems.

  • DD was born at 40w1d and weighed 6lb9oz. DS was exactly 40w and he was 9lb4oz. I hope this one is right in between.
  • I was 40 weeks and 2 days.  My Kayleigh weighed 7lbs, 13 oz.

  • DS1 was 41 weeks 2 days and was 7 pounds 5 oz
    DS2 was 39 weeks 3 days and was 7 pounds 13 oz
  • DS was 39w2d, 8lb10oz

My mom says that I was born at 41w5d, 7lb7oz, but the pregnancy dating technology was not that accurate 30 years ago, so maybe she wasn't actually that far along.
  • DD was born at 39 weeks and was 11.1 pounds. No GD just a big baby.
DS (my peanut haha) was born at 39 weeks by RCS and was 9.8 pounds.
We will see what this baby brings! Hoping she is not as big as DD. It was really difficult getting her weight up breastfeeding and we had to supplement for a short time at the hospital.
  • DS1 - 42 weeks, 1 day -8 lbs, 3 oz, 22.5 inches.

    DS2 - 41 weeks 6 days, 9 lbs even

  • My daughter was born at 39 weeks and weighed 5 lbs 12 oz.  I was pretty surprised because 9 lb babies are pretty standard in our family and I had GD which usually causes bigger babies.  We actually had to go buy some preemie clothes for her to wear the first week or so. She was perfectly healthy though and gained weight pretty quickly.

DS was born 35 wks 4 days, 5 lbs 15 oz.

DH & I were both bigger babies.  My OB & I were betting whether DS was going to be under or over 9 lbs (I had the over), but since we went early, we'll never know!

ETA - also, 14 days in NICU (standard practice @ our hospital for any baby born before 37 weeks) until his temp stayed up on its own & he got the feeding thing down.
Myles was so pumped about the baby . . . until he figured out he'd have to share all his toys!!!

  • DD was a due date baby and weighed 6 lb 13 oz.

I had multiple scans up to that point due to low AFI and the estimate was 8 lb at the last one, but they do say it can be off a pound either way.

    #3 was 40w3d 9lbs 12oz

    #6 was 39w5d 9lbs 4oz
    #7 was 40w 8lbs 15.5oz

side note I had always said if we ever had a girl I didn't expect her to be over 9lbs because in my brain little girls are meant to be smaller than boys....she was .5oz below 9lbs. Doc was like quick weigh before she pees. they were all roughly between 21" and 22" I did not have GD with any. 1, 4, 5, 6, 7 were all scheduled inductions, #2 and #3 water broke then had to be augmented.
