Tomorrow is DS's first echocardiogram since he was in the hospital following his open heart surgery almost 4 months ago. We're really hoping that his heart looks totally normal and healed. I'd appreciate any good thoughts you can send!
Also, because it's a sedated echo, they want him to be tired, and he's not allowed to eat for 6 hours before the procedure. So I scheduled it for the first appointment of the day, at 7:30 am. The outpatient center nurse told me to keep him up until 10:30 or 11 pm tonight so that he's tired for the procedure. There's no way that would work! This kid is used to being asleep by 7:45 pm at the latest and there's no way I could keep him awake for hours after that. I feel like she must be pretty out of touch with how most 8 month olds operate to give that recommendation.
UPDATE - it turns out that we don't actually talk to the cardiologist until Friday. So today was just the test, and no info as a result. Thanks again for your thoughts and I'll report back Friday evening!
Re: Lack of update - Echocardiogram tomorrow
I'll be thinking of you guys!
Mom to Lily and Colin!
Thanks ladies!
@inluv4life and @dreamingbabies, the issue with waking him early is that he's not allowed to eat. So I have to balance wanting him to be tired with how long I'm willing to deal with a really pissed off baby
I'm allowed to give him pedialyte until 5:30 am, so I think I'll wake him at like 5:15 am to do that. He's used to napping 2 hours after waking up, so he should be ready for a nap by 7:30 am.
