@Lelo2006, omg, can't imagine having HFM three times...it typically lasts awhile, too, so your poor LO has barely had any time between each bout probably! hope it goes away SOON!!

Re: shredding meat If you have a Kitchenaid, you can shred the meat in it with the paddle (whatever that thing is called). This has been life changing for me!

I was going to add what @atlvol said, so I'll just +1 it. My added tip is don't try to shred with the mixer after it has cooled! It works much better when it is still very hot.

@maryannespier Lucas is also getting molars and leaving bruises. Right now I have one just under my collarbone and another on the cleavage side of my left boob. I've tried making it clear that if he bites he gets put down and/or we stop playing, but it's not doing any good - he just turbo-crawls after me with his mouth wide open trying to take a chunk out of my ankle @-)

My probably UO for today - all airlines should just stop serving fucking nuts. Serve pretzels, crisps, cookies, raisins, chocolate.. whatever. Just not nuts. Passengers can survive a few hours without stuffing their faces full of nuts. I know the airline can't control what people bring on the plane for themselves, but it's a lot better than having random peanuts and peanut bits ALL OVER the plane. X(

@ramy3 here here on the children looking forward to our visits. I stress so much everytime MIL comes and it is just awful. Last week I made sure the house was spotless. So she swept out the garage and lectured me on why it should be kept clean. %-(

@PickleX I'm surprised that airlines can still serve them because of all of the people that have nut allergies. Some people can't even be near them. It's probably a lawsuit waiting to happen.

We flew Air Canada and Lufthansa for our trip and didn't encounter one nut (besides some crazy passengers). We had chocolate covered biscuits, pretzels and bread chip things (like in chex mix), and fruit chews. I was a happy camper. I don't like peanuts.

Southwest has been awesome about it but I just called United and although their website says they don't serve peanuts, the rep said they do and might as well have said "fuck you" also. So I said "fuck you" back, using more polite words.

Well the airlines do make it very clear that they can't control what people do. There have been several cases of emergency landings having to be made due to nuts, though. So it's in everyone's best interest, really.

Blah. I knew my mom was going to meet up with my sahm sister and her kids today. What I didn't know is that they went to a pumpkin patch. I don't think it was prearranged and it was spur of the moment. But my H suggested going to a pumpkin patch as an extended family to celebrate his and my mom's birthday. We've been putting off going to a pumpkin patch as a family.

And now I'm going to have to say, "thanks for watching my kid for free but whhhhhhy did you take him to a pumpkin patch?!" And I really hate questioning people when they watch my kid for free. But this is more a question of being thoughtless towards us, than I don't like what you did to my kid. My parents have kind of a history of being just thoughtless towards us and it bums me out.

One of the things I'm having the hardest time dealing with right now is putting TTC on hold. Before Luke was born, I had thought 2 years apart would be ideal spacing; then he came, and I knew it would be longer, but we had talked about maybe next spring; and now I just don't see any way we can swing it with so many potentially debilitating threats to L's health and to our finances, and I'm afraid that even if/when we do get to a place where we're able to think about TFAS, it will be stripped of many of the things I had hoped for - barely making our finances stretch, barely keeping my anxiety under control, barely keeping all our many balls in the air. I cannot fathom taking care of a newborn and running TPN at the same time; I have no idea how we would cope with an extended hospital stay. And I can barely even let myself think about the possibility of dealing with another preemie or major health issue....

I'm not ready to be pregnant again right now - mentally, physically, emotionally, financially - but it's just incredibly unfair that I don't get to make that choice for myself right now, it's essentially been made for me.

I know that there are quite a few of us on here who have had that choice put on hold or taken away to one degree or another, and I want to offer a big ol' group hug for anybody who wants to come in.

On the shot-in-the-dark chance that I would be able to find academic employment for next year that would work with our current impossible childcare situation, and that we would find ourselves in a position to TFAS, I just out of curiosity checked the dates required for TTC a summer 2016 baby (summer so I wouldn't have to worry about maternity leave).

The earliest possible EDD, based on the academic calendar at my current institution and how it lines up with fertility friend ovulation predictions, is Luke's birthday.

I don't know why that's bothering me so much but I kind of feel like I'm going to vomit.

@gutsymama‌ I know it is an emotional roller coaster, just remind yourself that just because you had one child with serious medical problems does not mean Ur next will. All in all lucas is doing pretty dang great for what life dealt him and he looks like such a fun loving happy boy! When it is time for the next you will be able to handle just like you have Lucas, and u won't be able to imagine life any other way. You are a great mom.

My toddler is crying because I can't control the weather. It is extremely foggy (looks like a white sheet is hung outside of the window) and DD keeps pointing at it, stamping her feet, pulling at me, and crying.

MIL askes DH for a key to the new house. She does this everytime we move.

Hell to the no.

I told him he needs to tell her no. We don't have any extras and we are not allowed to duplicate. (probably not even true) She doesn't need a key. I don't trust her having access to our house when we are not home. She is a snoopy, nosey person. She says "I could clean while I am watching Zoe." No thank you. Plus she would probably go through our stuff and throw away things she thinks we don't need. Not your job. Ugh.

But its hard to be irritated with her because she is also so nice. She said her and her husband were talking about buying us a washer and dryer. Since the ones that were left there don't seen to work very well.

Although I already told her my mom offered to give us hers if she can convince her boyfriend to switch hers out for his.

She can be so irritating but then be so nice and generous. Makes it hard to ever be annoyed at her very long.
