Rainy days and Mondays always get me SPAM

So it's Monday, and it's rainy. I slept like crap last night which sucks because DD actually slept fairly well. I really want to just lay in bed a day but instead I will be going to work and praying the day goes quickly.

Re: Rainy days and Mondays always get me SPAM

  • I hope your day goes by fast and that you get some sleep tonight! DD was just up crying for over an hour, I think she is getting sick. MIL watched her all day Saturday then called yesterday to tell us she now has a cold.

  • We are starting to wean from BFing and she isn't nursing as much anymore because my supply has tanked. So I think my hormones are all out of wack because I kept waking up feeling ridiculously hot, then I would get back cold. It's crazy. I'm hopeing they will even out soon. I want to keep nursing her as long as possible but if it's going to make me feel like this I might have to stop.

  • I cannot find a pair of jeans for my 3yr old. She is tall and skinny so always cracks a smile in them. I've tried Carter's, gap, old navy, gymboree to no avail. Has anyone tried the baby Hudson's?

Add my to the list of no sleep! Third night in a row that DD was up every 1 1/2 hours. I think she is trying to kill me!

In other news DS just told me a big spider went under the couch (I'm sitting on). Now that could mean small piece of fuzz, an ant, who knows what. He kept trying to move the couch saying "oh no! Big spider!" I finally moved it and there was a slider about the size of a Nickle. I'm sorry I doubted you DS lol.

  • No work today! But a ship is departing this afternoon so I still have to go in. Oh well. I'm just relieved Eleanor's DC is open today. I had the most ridiculous, weird, stressful dreams last night thanks to walking dead!
OMG - Me too!  And I had a really hard time getting to sleep because I was so tense after that episode.  It was a great episode but definitely not one to watch right before bedtime.

  • I'm watching my aunts dog while they are out of town for the weekend...this dog WILL NOT go outside. I just had to drag him out again and now he won't come.in. I don't have the time or patience for this.
  • DH was on night duty last night, but the morning was all mine...I'm ready to go back to sleep and I've only been up for an hour. Ugh.

M is so stinking cute, but he's got to stop this middle of the night thing. Oh and he woke up with a massive sloppy poop. Not what you want to see if the first diaper of the day. Double ugh.
  • I'm going nuts already...Kaleb is all over the place and my aunt and uncle asked me to watch their fucking dog who won't get up and go outside for me. And K is so tired he cried all through breakfast and snuggles but he refuses to sleep... kid mama needs a nap too.

Sounds like I'm probably the only person on here who doesn't watch TWD?!

    I don't
    Me neither!
    Add me to that list.
  • Glad I'm not the only one!

  • At ikea bright and early this morning to return crap I didn't need.
Add me to the up all night club. Sorry to all the tired mama's.
I also dream of sleeping uninterrupted all night long.
  • @nykt‌ we buy roxy jeans for our tall and skinny 3 year old. We buy them in a 4t for the length and because they are skinnies they fit everywhere else.

    Also turkey day for me!

  • Just got home from the vet with my new foster. He is 45 SOLID pounds. He got a clan bill of health. We have renamed him Theodore (Theo) for short. He is getting a bath soon and then I am off to work for a short 5 hour shift. I can't wait till Wednesday when I don't have to work at all and can just be lazy. Its raining here and its a cold rain. The best kind (eye roll). Everyone have a GREAT day!

Here is a picture of Theo at the vets :)

I stayed home from work today because LO has the pink eye. We went to the after hours clinic yesterday and they said he could go to dc today if there was no discharge, but we kept him home today just in case anyway. I was almost tempted to go ahead and take him to dc, though, because he didn't poop yesterday. I need to run some errands, but I fear the inevitable poospolsion, so I'm waiting it out.
  • I'm fixated on the name Violet for now for LO if it's a girl. Thoughts? ETA: I obsess over names and then change my mind allll the time.
I fixated over Eleanor (Ellie), Charlotte and the one I begged DH for was Caroline but he refused on all three. I love Violet though and with your D13 name I think they sound really cute together.

@Risalyn222‌ I love the name Ellie! Though if your concerned about it what about Elizabeth and use Ellie as a nickname?

The temperature dropped from the 80's this morning when we left the house to 67 now.  Hopefully it doesn't drop more by the time I get off work to get the kids.  Only 1 out of my 3 kids is wearing a jacket today and that's only because grandma gave it to her this weekend and she's been wearing it 24/7.  At least DS1 is wearing long pants, the baby is in a summer romper.  MOTY over here.

    @Risalyn222
What about Eliana?  I wanted to name DD this, but it's DH's cousin's name.

@nykt - I am only just beginning to read this spam thread, so I don't know what has been suggested to you, but at least for my boys I LOVE The Children's Place for jeans. About this time last year, DS1 was too tall for 18-24mo size, but the 2T were too big around the waist. Then, one day, the genius in me realized there were hidden adjustable waistband buttons. They have lasted him this whole year. (granted not much wear at all during summer months.)

  • Thanks for the suggestions, guys! Hopefully the children's place and Roxy jeans will help my plumber in training.

Also, Violet Katherine, Violet Eloise, Violet Claire.

I've also found slim fit jeans with the adjustable waistband at Sears.  I think they were their "Toughkids" line or something like that.
  • @Risalyn222‌ I have a friend with an Ellie, and I think it's so cute. Her reasoning was that she and her husband and their first son all go by nicknames, so they wanted to just name her what they were going to call her.

    And I love Violet Catherine!

DD was standing along the wall playing like she has done countless times. I was cleaning her tray from lunch and watching her from the kitchen. DD coughs and falls over landing on the hardwood floor. I run to pick her up, shes a screaming mess. I look down and see blood on my shirt. Cue freak out! Apparently her bottom teeth cut into the roof of her mouth when she fell. Not a fun moment.

OMG this made me want to cry! I hope she's ok. Poor baby, that must have really hurt :(

@Nabours3‌ I've been watching it too. So far I like it! It's kind of a blend of Scandal, Law and Order, and I Know What You Did Last Summer
  • @Nabours3‌ I love how to get away with murder. I'm so hooked.

Does anyone watch how to get away with murder? I just watched an episode on my break. I think I like it.

I just watched the first episode last night and I have two more saved on the DVR. I think it looks like there is potential there.

Day three of potty training and DS1 is a pro at using the little potty.  Only problem is he will only use the little potty and he will only go if naked.  I can't get him to sit on a real toilet (need a little seat for him I guess?) and if he has on underware or pants he things they are like a diaper and just goes.  Any tricks anyone used that can help?
We had a potty seat for the kids but didn't push the real toilet until they showed an interest themselves.  It took about a month before they would use it and then they went back and forth depending on their mood which one they used.  We took the little potties away after 6 months cause they kept playing with them and that was the end of that.  I don't really have any advice for going in his underwear.  We emphasized that underwear was for big kids and diapers were for babies a lot.
  • I love Ellie. I have thrown it around to dh as a name for a hypothetical baby number 4. I like Eleanor too but I just don't like how it goes with aiden, ava, and mason bc they are more modern names and Eleanor is much more classic. Can Ellie be a name on its own?

We have a friend, full name Ellee
  • So. I just told one of my kids as I put her in her car to go home to have a good weekend.

It's going to be a long week.
