The best christmas present!!

As all of our babies are due in May i wondered if anyone was doing the same as my partner and me? And if not maybe ill inspire you

. We've booked an early gender scan (£60 at 16 weeks) and as its a few weeks before xmas were going to get the nurse to put it in an envelope then we'l wrap it and open on christmas day together. Is anyone else doing something similar? 8-> X

No because if we decide to find out, we will know in about 5-6weeks. It's a cute idea though.

I'll be 18 weeks the week before Christmas and that's when we found out at the doctors with my son. We plan on having him put it in an envelope and we're going to open on New Years Eve just us two. That's also when we plan on making the "formal" announcement on Facebook and whatnot. I'll be 20 weeks at that point.

That's a super cute idea! We're not really doing Christmas this year because we're going on vacation the next day (that's our gift) so that would be something to look forward to! I will be 20 weeks right around Christmas time I believe so if I'm lucky we'l find out beforehand!

Yes! This is exactly what we are doing. We are going to have a friend fill a box with balloons with either color for us to open.

Didn't you do genetic testing too? You don't already know?

I want to be team green my husband doesn't. I don't know if I have the will power to turn down the results if they are there.

The entire two years we were trying, I was all about team green. And there were two lines and my will power to not find out went out the window. Now, I'm counting down to that appointment and it isn't even booked yet. lol

YUP! We have our anatomy scan a few weeks before Christmas so my friends are going to blow up either blue or pink balloons with helium, put in a box and we will open on Christmas Day!

My clinic knows but won't tell us until we are released to the OB!

That's a really sweet idea! I don't know that I'd be able to hang on to that envelope for very long without taking a peak ... We'll be finding out in early November when we have genetic testing done by our RE. So excited!

I'm going to figure out right before and send gifts to the grandparents with corresponding gender colors

I'm too impatient to wait any longer than necessary and I would love to know asap - but I may do ornaments or something associated with blue or pink to give to grandparents.

Cute plan! We were thinking of finding out right before New Year's Eve (I will be 19 weeks then), and so when the ball drops, releasing either pink or blue balloons from a box that the whole family can see. We always go to my mom's for NYE, so everyone will be there.

We're doing the same thing!! Although I'm going to get 2 ornaments, 1 will be its a boy and the other its a girl. I'm going to have my NP put them in a box (probably in another box) and then get rid of the other ornament. Then wrap it and put it under the tree... that way we'll have a keepsake for the moment! And then later we can tell all our family because we'll be seeing them anyways

I can't wait for Christmas!!!

I saw that I had a ton of unread responses on this thread and that it kept increasing. I came in to check out the "16 weeks isn't going to be totally accurate/sometimes baby doesn't cooperate" discussion. Wow was I wrong. This went in a totally different direction.

Well, I just came to say that my 20 weeks should be just before Christmas so I am going to do everything I can to get the AS in before Christmas....but TELL everyone it's in January

Then for Christmas morning - our boys and DH's parents will be there - wrap a big box full of pink or blue balloons. And probably send my parents a card full of glitter ("baby's first mess"

HA I love that glitter idea for 'baby's first mess' - need to do that to my mom - she always sends cards like that!!
