Yesterday, I was awake before 6 with my normal pregnancy insomnia. I didn't have an overwhelming urge to pee so I was chilling in bed. Next thing I knew I was starting to pee myself so I jumped up and ran to the bathroom but it wouldn't stop. While peeing, I reached down and felt my legs were wet. I smelled my hand and it didn't smell like urine but I still wasn't sure. I took a shower and started crying because I was also having some severe lower pain and menstrual like pains and I was convinced I was not in labor but my husband was supposed to go to DC this weekend to run a race he trained really hard for and runs every year and I didn't want to keep him here for nothing.
I got back in bed and he rolled over and asked if I was ok and I tearfully said no. We called the OB and couldn't get through to anyone so we called the hospital. They said it sounded like early labor but could be anything. We explained my blood clotting situation and how I wasn't sure if I should take my 9am heparin shots or not and they said we could go in to get checked.
I was so convinced it was nothing, we brought nothing. No car seat. No nothing.

. I insisted my husband bring his bag for the trip and we took separate cars so he could go right to the airport.
Around 8am we arrived and they processed us in and did a swab to see if my water broke. At 8:45 we learned that it had. At that moment we looked at each other and had the "WE ARE HAVING OUR BABY THIS WEEKEND!" party.

. An OB checked us and I was 3-4 cm dilated, 80% effaced.
At 11am I got my epidural (after much negotiation with the on call OB about when my last heparin shot was and some good bloodwork). The epidural was amazing. Smooth and perfect. The contractions hurt before it and I was only 5 cm! You med-free women are crazy tough!!!
Not long after the nurse told us the doctor wanted to give us pitocin. This made no sense to us as we had been moving along so quickly for a FTM, so we asked to delay it 3 hours to 3 pm and reevaluate.
Well, 8 and 10 cm came pretty fast and at 3pm I was pushing! I pushed for 30 minutes. Apparently I had impressive feeling in my legs and control of my legs and core as the OB and 2 nurses commented on how surprised they were at my pushing form and control.
Chloe was born at 3:33pm. She's considered a late preterm baby as she was 36 weeks and 5 days along but she got two 9s for apgars and passed all tests beautifully. She may have some trouble latching but so far we get it...eventually.

. She also has a higher risk of being cold. So we keep her bundled!
She has a full head of brown head like her mom and dad and the cutest like sigh noises I have ever heard.

Here is a picture of her sweet face (upside down in true TB style!).
