My husband and I experienced something we never imagined would happen at 39 weeks, our sweet little boy's heart stopped beating. We went into the hospital Monday, Sept 29 in the evening due to low movement. It was discovered shortly after arriving that our little boy was no longer with us. I was admitted into the hospital and induced the following morning. The first doctor told us we may never know what happened, freak cord accident, etc, etc. However when my doctor finally arrived she ordered every test imaginable and it was discovered that I have a rare hereditary condition and my body lacks Antithomblin 3(sp), so when a clot occurs in my blood my body lacks the ability to break them up. Upon delivering our little Parker, it was discovered that it was indeed blood clots that had taken him from us. I now take Lovenox injections daily for the next 6 weeks and will have to continue them for my next pregnancy.
Parker was brought into the world and got to spend 9 months with us so that he could, in turn, save his mommy's life. Without this diagnosis I could have thrown a clot during my recovery time and possibly died. He is our little angel and while it is all still very surreal that I spent 9 months pregnant and left the hospital empty handed, I know Parker served a purpose.
