Trouble TTC

I am so upset and angry (BFP mentioned, not mine) AW

So my sister, who already has a 3 year old daughter (who is in mine and DH's care right now, but that's a whole other story) just announced on facebook that she's pregnant AGAIN. She never said one word about it to me, not ONE WORD. And not only that she is 19 and baby number two is already on the way. Yes I am extremely jealous because I want to be pregnant so bad, and she is the most irresponsible person I have ever met, but yet SHE gets to be pregnant in five seconds and DH and I have been struggling for almost two years. I hate feeling this way but I can't help it. And as DH said: "I'm sure your mom and us will be having to raise this kid too." I'm sooo mad I just don't know what to do with myself!!

  • There isn't much I could say that can make it make sense but I just want to commiserate with you. It's a really unfair situation and I'm sorry that it causes you pain.

  • As with the other ladies here-sending you hugs too. It made me mad reading your post, it's so unfair when people who shouldn't be having kids have them so easily while those who would be perfect parents have such a hard time becoming pregnant!
Me: 37 DH: 37, married since Sept. 2013. "actively" TTC for a total of 13 months (after 7 months of TTC, took a 1 1/2 year hiatus due to work scheduling and wedding planning. Started up again after our wedding in Sept.) First evaluation by an RE November 2013

    HSG-normal
OH-tiny polyp found, but RE assured me she doesn't think it's contributing to infertility and doesn't recommend me to remove it because it's so small.
    DH's SA-normal
    Hormones all within normal levels
Ovarian Reserve-RE says "is great" she's not concerned about my egg quantity (which I was until I saw her and results came back good!)

04/2012 50mg Clomid=BFN (prescribed by OBGYN, not monitored)
06/2012 50mg Clomid=BFN (prescribed by OBGYN, not monitored)
11/2013 100mg Clomid, with HCG trigger=BFN (prescribed by RE, monitored with US (2 dominant follicles) and baseline bloodwork done)
01/2014 100mg Clomid, with HCG trigger-(prescribed by RE, monitored with US-1 dominant follicle)=BFN
06/2014 7.5mg Letrozole, HCG trigger (prescribed by RE, monitored with US-2 dominant follicles), IUI #1 on 7/3/14=BFN
07/2014 7.5mg Letrozole, benched for IUI#2 this cycle, because I ovulated on my own before my follicular US. Progesterone suppositories=BFN Diagnosed with PCOS this month too. Testosterone levels high at 76. =(
08/2014 7.5mg Letrozole, HCG trigger with 19mm follicle. IUI#2 on 8/31 cancelled last minute due to family emergency.
09/2014 Taking a 3 month break starting this month. If not pregnant in 3 months, will start up again with medicated cycles and IUIs. Had all my labs and AFC re-evaluated this month also. RE says nothing much has changed since my eval last November, okay for me to take a little break. =)

  • I know how you feel.  My sister had a baby when she was 17 (she's 21 now).  Don't get me wrong, I love my nephew, but it always upsets me when she spends multiple days in a row out partying with my parents, my other sister and other family members watching him.  I try not be jealous, but it is hard.  If DH and I had a baby we would love and care for him/her so much, and watching parents that don't is infuriating.

  • I can relate, my best friend has bi-polar disorder and got pregnant twice by her bf (not planned). She then would leave the kids at home and drive out to the country and was picked up by the cops in an incoherent state. They promptly checked her into a hospital. It's so sad and I worry for those kids all the time. (She is out of the hospital and still cares for them).
  • Thanks everyone for your responses. I am so frustrated. I just feel like she has shit all over our family and still gets whatever she wants argh.

Fertility doesn't seem to play fair, does it?  I'm so sorry.

(and why is she having another kid when she can't take care of the first?!)

Yes! That is my thought exactly. Aside from that, she has anger problems, does drugs and is just all around immature. She smoked weed throughout her pregnancy with my niece, (at 16!) which resulted in early labor and brain development problems. I'm sure the second won't be much different.

  • HUGS! I'm sorry to hear what your family is going through but like @NariaDreaming‌ said hopefully some good will come of her being pregnant second time around. My sister is Bipolar and without trying or anything she got pregnant with her now husband. It's hard to understand how some people just get pregnant and I'm so envious of those lucky women.
  • I'm so sorry, I know it's frustrating. I can relate too.. My SIL just turned 19 and has a 4 month old. Baby's father is MIA (not sure she even knows whose it is), she doesn't have a DL, never had a job, and lives with her parents. Knows absolutely NOTHING about being an adult, but was blessed with this sweet little baby. The baby is so precious, but I resent the situation so much that I can't stand to be around her. Which then makes me feel bad.

  • I can soo relate!! My cousin (who is more like my sister) got pregnant when she was 18 and I helped her take care of the baby since she was a single mom.  She lived with me the first few months after her baby was born.  She then got pregnant with another persons baby (as she was engaged to another guy) and gave birth to another child at 20.  Now she is "trying" to get pregnant with her third baby at 22 and knowing her luck she will get KU in no time! It drives me insane!! I love my cousin and I am happy for her... But I fully admit it.... I AM JEALOUS!
