High Risk Check-In 10/10

Hey there hi there,
Nothing new here! I ordered a doppler, just waiting for it to arrive. Went for an ultrasound on Monday for the NT scan and my cervical length was 'ok'. The tech didn't give me a measurement but I guess we will see when I see the OB on Tuesday next week. Otherwise, nothing too new.

GTKY what is the worst job you ever had?

Re: High Risk Check-In 10/10

  • I have my NT scan on Tuesday. I'm looking forward to seeing the baby not look like a blob.

All in all I'm doing ok. I've got some pretty nasty bruising across my tummy from the lovenox. I just remind myself that it's better than the alternative.

Worst job I've had? Tough call. My last job wasn't great towards the end of my time there. But the worst? Probably working as a cleaner after hours at a pet grooming place. I could handle the hair and stuff like that. But the poop and pee in the kennel cages was just awful

  • I had my first ultrasound on Monday and everything went great! It was so nice to see that there is actually a baby in there moving around. Baby is measuring right on track (which makes it even more confusing as to when I conceived!) and placenta looks awesome and cervical length is great! Hopefully it keeps up.

Worst job - that's hard, I've really enjoyed all my jobs that I've ever worked. The worst would probably be at a clothing store that was going out of business. A few of us were hired to just pack and haul boxes, which sucked.
  • I did the Panarama test about 11 days ago.  Yesterday I got a call that my test was considered inconclusive.  They do a quality assurance test before they do the actual test and there wasn't enough fetal DNA for a valid test so I had to have blood drawn again.  Booo.  Now I have to wait another 10 days.  Good news is that the quad screen came back low risk, so I'm not in a panic waiting for the results which would really be terrible.

Worst job - dish washer at a resturaunt.  I only did it for 1 day and quit.  I was there till 3am cleaning the kitchen and getting smacked in the butt with a wet washcloth by the cook.  Not my idea of a good time.

  • Hi there! All is good this week. We had our NT scan yesterday and it went great! Measurements were normal, heartbeat was strong, and baby was kicking and flipping up a storm! The tech ventured an educated guess that the baby is a girl which matches up with the gut feeling I've had all along - excited to find out for sure in November!

I had a rheumatology appointment to check my Lupus activity and everything was looking great!!

The worst job I've had is working for a dog kennel. I've worked for a few and the job isn't all that bad but the first facility I worked for was run very badly and the owner was horrible to everyone!

I hope everyone is having a great and healthy week!
  • My liver enzyme panel came up elevated, so retesting will be done soon for that. My 1 hour glucose screening came out slightly elevated, so I am going in next week to do the 3 hour. Yuck!! I did a 24 hour urine and it came out normal, so that is some good news. I will go in to see the perinatologist in 2 weeks for my big anatomy scan, even though I already know babies's sex from the verify testing I had done. It will be cool to see baby on the ultrasound again though and have sex confirmed with the ultrasound.

My worst job ever was one I quit within two months of starting. I was a library media specialist in two schools and the job itself was awesome, the principals and the amount of work they piled onto me was not. I was spending every night working and every weekend working and not ever having any time for my kids. The students at one school were horribly behaved and one of my co-workers made the work environment horribly stressful for me. I talked to my supervisor and both principals and no one was willing to make things better, so I resigned. Best decision I ever made.

  • Had an NT scan today and neck fluid measured 1.9mm...so that's good...baby's HB was 146 and was pretty active...but being 35 and with previously drawn bloodwork results I came back with a 0.8% chance of Down's but everything else looked good.

Did Panarama today so waiting for our 10 days to be up but not too worried...staying positive.

My worst job ever was working for a dentist at the front desk. He was rude and I quit after a few months.
  • It has been a challenging week. I have had a lot of hypoglycaemic episodes - I swear I am almost a non-diabetic with how little insulin I am on. Hubby got angry at me for my episode yesterday (glucose sensor died in the night). I am hating all the lows. I drastically reduced my basal rate and now I have had high blood sugars today. Rough week with the sugars, is all.

Worst job: Ceramic engineer (a.k.a dishwasher) or maybe being the janitor at a local dentist's office. Both jobs were tiring and long hours.

Oh no! My bloodsugars are finally coming out of the hypoglycemic phase and moving back into the hyperglycemic phase! I hope yours isn't as bad as mine and that you don't have anymore episodes!

My week has been alright. The last few days I have been losing my appetite and even getting sick after meals! I am at 15 weeks now so I wouldn't think it would be morning sickness, but comes and goes randomly. It's been strange.

My worst job was last year when I worked as an OR assisstant. They told me I was going to learn how to set up equipment and learn a lot in the OR, but they really needed a house keeper. So I spend 8 hours a day cleaning up blood and bone fragments from the table, floor, and sometimes the ceiling! Not fun!

I hope you ladies have a good week!
