I called a kid "mean" the other day within her earshot. In my defense, she was being quite rude to N and I wanted her to know it. I immediately regretted saying it, but rude kids curdle my gravy.
SAK, just make another one.....no one will know the difference......except those you tell.
My FFFC: we have an IFSP meeting this afternoon and I'm already getting jittery and I haven't had enough coffee to blame it on caffeine overdose. (Still working on first cup) Problem is I have to bring up uncomfortable/unpleasant topics and I hate confrontation.

I hate it when people give my kids stuff. It just means more cleaning for me to do, and often ends up either in the garbage or sent to goodwill. I feel an irrational sense of guilt because I think of all the chemical processes to make and transport most of it. I honestly prefer when they have hand-me-downs. I yelled at MIL this summer because in one weekend they gave DD more than we gave her for Christmas. This is after I had been telling her for a year + that we didn't want the kids to be spoiled, my environmental perspectives and the fact that I am losing my mind trying to keep the house clean - I'd rather play with my kiddos anyday than clean the house. I feel like instead of being like 'ok - tjkdlb doesn't want the kids to have more stuff', she tries to trick us into taking things, or find excuses -"well, I had to buy this because it was onsale" No. It is a 0-6 month hat. DD is 2 YEARS OLD. You did NOT need to buy it because it was on sale.

Hugs! Hopefully you have a very supportive team of service providers and everyone can get on the same page without confrontation. If it helps at all, when I taught SpEd I always preferred my parents to be quite up-front with the things they felt were working AND the things they felt needed tweaking. Everyone on the team is important, but as the parent you have a unique perspective and are your child's best advocate. I hope it all goes well!

It's only bad when the parents do nothing to try to correct it. Which I'm guessing was the case.

I have the same issue. I'm trying to make it a habit to only give 2-3 gifts to my kids at Christmas (this may change when they get older, but they still won't get many toys, probably more clothes and books).
At least if it's clothes or plastic toys, you can donate some of it. I absolutely hate my kids getting stuffed animals. You really can't donate or sell them at garage sales and they take up so much space.

Unfortunately, the uncomfortable/unpleasant topics include them attempting to update IFSP during home visits when dh is not present which has the effect of denying one parent is an equal team member; and another topic is the message we are receiving from the team that ds isn't worth their effort. But, I will be back later tonight to update how it went.

Hugs @TJ1979. I often wished nursing/pumping was as easy as I wanted it to be. Btw, If you like pb and don't want/have time to bake lactation cookies.....I mixed the brewer's yeast, flax seed meal, and oats with peanut butter and honey and then rolled into balls and dipped in melted chocolate.....or spread on bread for a pb with oomph sandwich.

@PipSqueak0313 - Are they not required to give prior written notice before they hold a meeting? In my state we had to give 10 days notice and the parents could choose a different day/time if they wanted.
@pipsqueak0313 We are nut free, but I could try that with sunbutter. Just use enough of everything to make a dough that will hold together? Did you have a specific recipe?

Yep.....they were trying to update it at a regular home visit (EI) about a month before the scheduled IFSP meeting. Meeting was scheduled in August (blocked off early before team members started scheduling home visits with other children) with formal notice going out later.

I want to say I did the serving size of each (or about 2 tablespoons of most everything) I didn't follow a real recipe....just til I could form balls that held together or spread easy and tasted good.

There's like 8 boxes sitting downstairs that we still haven't unpacked. I so don't want to deal with them. Plus we obviously don't need anything in them since we haven't needed it yet. LOL.

This is only an issue if you don't remember what is in the boxes or you go out an buy replacements instead of unpacking.....or if there is anything potentially perishable, like unopened food containers, inside the boxes. Otherwise, they're just walls for the kids' fort, right?

My kid is driving me absolutely insane. To the point that I want to call J and see if he can come home early just so I can get away from her for a little bit.

This was us all morning. I finally got us dressed to get out to the park, and there was a preschool aged daycare group there. The teachers were awesome and DS had a blast running around and "playing with" the other kids. Then when they all filed out for their lunches, he tried to go with them. So now I feel badly that my kid doesn't go to daycare, even though DH and I busted our butts for the first year he was alive to help me become a SAHM.
@theultimatesak I had to pause the show I was watching so I could fully appreciate that awesome list! And @tj1979, you are pretty dang fabulous no matter what your pump tries to tell you...or even your pimp, if you want to go with autocorrect's version of the story.
I have two fffc!
1- I totally love The Wahlburgs. The show is hilarious.
2- I am going shopping today, I need new shirts. Apparently pregnancy made my arms longer. I feel totally guilty about shopping for me.
If this is the only reason you need new shirts after having a baby, I hate you a little bit.

You guys, I feel like a total ass. I got a used dipe from nickis and the soaker was the wrong color. It's annoying the crap out of me so I wanted to know if that's something that is normal, like they're not guaranteed to match or whatever, bc that might affect future purchases. BC I'm anal like that. I asked on their FB page and they said to email, so I did. The lady was like "it works the same, what exactly do you want us to do about it?" And I said "I don't know, I was told to email so I did" and then she sent me a new diaper. I immediately felt guilty but thought maybe they would at least want the old one back. Nope. No return label came. Then I feel like an ass for feeling guilty bc I'm sure someone would be like "well what did you expect them to do" but I really did NOT expect a free diaper. If anything maybe a soaker switch? Since they sell them separately I think.
So now I have this diaper, and I still have the one that's annoying me. And I feel bad.
Pay it forward, send it to someone for the cost of shipping.
It gets it out of the house and makes you feel good about giving someone a diaper for little cost.
MK I'd probably feel the same about getting a fee diaper in a situation like that. I'm surprised they seemed so short-tempered in their response and didn't work with you further.
FFFC: I kind of want to know what diaper it is so I can potentially take it off your hands for you. You know, for your own sanity. And maybe because mismatched soakers wouldn't bother me and I want all.the.diapers.

Hate me more because I'm shopping for smaller clothes because everything is falling off. Apparently my attempts to eat more while pregnant were futile.
It sucks just as much to be on the other end of the preg weight spectrum. Finding myself 30lbs lighter than when I got preg is not as awesome as you think it would be.
I have all kinds of feels on this topic, but rather than delving into them, I'll just send some creepy stranger hugs to you, @missmimsyy.
Okay, this is probably flame-worthy, but oh well. I have decided that I really need to give up caffeine to see if it helps with L's spit-up problem, but I am not going to do it until Tuesday b/c we're traveling to my parents' this weekend and I just don't want to deal with that logistics headache plus the physical caffeine and sugar withdrawal headache at the same time. I feel quite selfish, but I also feel like I won't survive with at least some Mt. Dew on a daily basis for the weekend. But come Tuesday, will y'all please help me kick my habit? Is there a patch for this?!
