    I got nothing... again.

    Are we getting lame?

I don't think we're getting lame but maybe we need to do a UO thread everyday, since no one can remember their UOs by Thursday.  I had like 5 yesterday.  Today?  Nada.

    This is so me.

  • I preferred posting in redux.

    Why

  • I put L in his crib and put on a movie while I take a shower and get dressed. He loves Horton Hears a Who and The Lorax. He jumps ups in his crib while watching the movie. It's adorable to watch.... He even laughs at his favorite parts.
FFTC... I use the tv as a babysitter so I can take a shower or get dinner started. If it wasn't for those movies I would never be able to shower.
  • Mine couldn't care less about tv either. She waves at Kelly and Michael when they come on though :).
  • Julia sometimes seems interested in the TV but that lasts all of 20 seconds and then it's on to the next thing.  The only show that sometimes holds her interest for a little longer is Jeopardy (maybe she's a nerd like her parents).  But she would much rather be on the floor playing or crawling around getting in to everything than watching TV.  Sometimes I wish she liked TV more so I could use it as a babysitter on occasion so I could actually gets things done.

  • LO is too busy figuring out how to cause mischief to be bothered by the tv.  The twins didn't really pay attention to the tv until they were 2.
  • My LO does love the nursery rhymes shows On Demand. I will actually put him in the bouncer and put that on if I need to take a shower and DH isn't home. He is glued to the tv when I turn it on. It's 10 minutes long so I don't feel too terrible.

  • I say Beauty and the Beast is her favorite movie, But its really mine and I just use her as an excuse to watch it as many times a week as possible. She does seem to like the music in those types of movies though and if she is sleepy its a sure fire way to get her to pass out. She also loves my singing voice ;)
  • I do not encourage walking either! I make her sit down when she try's it! She's already almost able to climb out of the pack and play. I do not need a 10 month walker into everything.
  • Tv doesn't interest my LO either, unless it's that Microsoft surface commercial with that techno? song. He freakin loves that song....
  • We sometimes have TV on during the day, but only for background noise. C doesn't watch it, but will move her head side to side if there is music playing. It's really cute.

I hate skinny jeans. They look great on some people, just not me. I have a big butt, skinny ankles, and no calves, so I look like an upside down triangle. Maybe one day boot-cut will make a comeback!
  • Flame away...I won't let my LO watch TV until she is closer to 2.

I still wear them too. But in a town full of hipsters and skinny-fit people, I rarely see someone in boot cut. Eta--this was more of a vent than an UO

Kahlan looooves jeopardy. And by loves, i mean she always looks at the tv when the blue comes on. Haha. And she always gets really excited when she hears stephen colbert' voice. I'm okay with both of these things. Otherwise, she could care less.
  • My UO: I made Mac n Cheese for LO yesterday and planned to eat some for my lunch as well. I hadn't eaten in years and now I remember why! That shit is nasty!

DS2 isn't big into TV.  Sometimes it catches his eye and he watches for a few seconds or dances along with some music but that's about it.  DS1 just finally started watching TV a few months ago, but will only watch Thomas, LeapFrog or football so there is nothing to feel guilty about.

UO - I really don't like Papa Johns pizza.  We were given a pizza lunch by my manager today and I'm really not impressed with their pizza anymore.

@nrg2020 - Now I'm singing the "Little Einstein's" song in my head!

Say what!? I LOVE Papa Johns! Especially their breadsticks.

    Sorry! I still like you!

What kind? My (maybe) UO is that I like the cheapo boxed Mac & cheese more than homemade! I make homemade every once in a while, because my family love it, but I could totally do without!
Just the Craft brand out of a box.
I've has homemade as well. I like it better but it's still not something I would make for myself.

I would rather wear jeans that flatter my body type, ie a boot cut.  IDAF.  Skinny jeans DO NOT look good on everyone.

When I was researching jeans to make sure I wasn't wearing mom jeans, I found a link that said a wider leg is coming back in style.  But I think that can be said every year, with every trend....

That's your choice, unless you are flaming people who do have the TV on, I don't see a problem.
    Nope. No flames from me!
  • @thesportsgal‌ I hope to God they make a comeback. I'm so sick of going shopping and seeing 20 different skinny jean options and one small section of boot cut choices.
  • I love to look at fashion and used to be a total clothes horse, but I'm not about to spend a lot of time and money on it these days. I might feel differently when I go back to work, idk. I'm happy to see flannels are back in style (UO?).

DS loves the Letter of the Day song from Sesame Street. It's one of my go-to songs if he's fussy.

Put me down for opening spam up to UOs daily. I think they're easier to come by as a timely rant.
  • @arnold94‌ I hate papa johns with a passion.
  • I agree @mcncheese. But then I come from a family where nothing was handed to me, so I may be biased. I also have no credit cards I can't afford.
  • Little man doesn't necessarily have a favorite show, but ever since he was about 3 months old, he has been entranced by hubby's Bela Fleck concert DVD (hippie music). Like, he will stop what he's doing and just sit quietly for a good 20 minutes. He also sometimes will laugh at things on TV, like if someone gets surprised or something.

Also, if he was a girl, we were going to go with Arya. Because GoT is awesome.

  • UO: I think it is beyond creepy when sellers on Etsy and other sites display products on baby dolls. It hits my "almost-there-but-not-quite-right" button.
  • Here is mine. I find the majority of stuff posted in the SPAM threads boring. Sick babies, not sleeping babies. It is kind of tiring to read every day. yes, I have posted about my own sleepless nights but i just find the spam thread to be dull. I dont read it all every day and don't post much in because of it.
I liked @notkateanymore idea of doing RAWV instead. then each person could post a more concise update. and maybe we would get more variety of posts.
I agree with this. I don't dislike the spam thread at all and I do participate. I just wish there were more threads to read. I guess I could start posting more new threads. Is anyone still interested in Monday Morning Bitchfest/Mommy and Me, WTF Wednesday, TBT, Furry friend Friday or is all that covered in the spam thread? I'll start posting them if people would participate.
  • I'm the same way and have the same feelings in regards to parent financial support. I was raised by a single dad who was a teacher. We didn't have any extra money. My DH's family is the exact opposite. Both of his siblings are in their 40's and neither has a job and neither are motivated to. They just don't do anything and it makes me sad for them.
  • My older brother moved back in with my parents for 15 years or so after college.  He seemed to have it pretty good.  I didn't think he would ever move out since like you all said, no motivation if everything is provided for you.  However, he did move out 2 years ago, bought his own house and has been on his own now.  I guess he just had some issues to work through.  I'm not saying this is the case for everyone but as a parent now, I can kinda sorta see why my parents supported him through that.  You just want to take care of your kid and no matter how old they get, they'll forever be your baby.  That said, I'm not sure I would've done the same thing though.
